it reminded me on the ineos stage win with carapaz and kwiatkowski. But a first stage win and for a french rider with yellow jersey. thats an complete different feeling
Seems impossible Van den broek was so powerful after such a long breakaway...I am really glad but still, 50-55km/h with headwind and a fresher Bardet being towed and struggling to hang on...miracle boy coming from another sport... absolutely incredible.
Nice to see some coverage of stage 1. And yet, how did van den Broek, the hero of the day, get into that leading position with his teammate Bardet? Why not show a minute and a half on that, rather than that same amount of time covering Mark Cavendish flirting with time limit? Still, props to getting your video up so quickly!
Agreed. Too much time wasted on someone who is not important in the stage. I watched the last four hours live and enjoyed the finish. I thought Bardet would be caught by the peloton, but that young cyclist did an absolutely brilliant job to get his team leader over the line.

What a fantastic opening stage. Well done to the organisers for mixing it up right from day one, and well the the guys for an amazing race. The French can relax now they have a stage, and a jersey in the bank.
Best first stage of a TdF in my memory. Cannot even think of any 1st stage coming close. Became even more exciting because of the jonas/Pogocar rivalry since most knew of Jonas accident and Pogocars positive covid test 2 weeks before start.Following if any off them were showing weakness, just added to it all. Incredibly they both looked strong which only makes the also tough stage 2, potentially just as exciting. YEAHHHHH! 5 mountain tops on stage 1! What a stroke of genius from TdF. NEVER another 1st stage TT again!
ye. Seeing a GC rider winning who isnt Jonas or Tardej is nearly impossible today. I mean compare it to froome. 4 tdf gc wins and 6 stage wins..... he gave one stage win there and another there for his rivals
Use Google translate, thank's! Impressionnant Romain Bardet magnifiquement aidé par VanDenBroek. Quelle performance, surtout lors de la première étape d'un tour, quand tout le monde est encore frais et dispo. Sans doute la plus belle performance de toute sa longue carrière. Bravo Romain!
He actually came in 39 minutes behind and were not eliminated but I do not know what the established cut off time were, just that he were not eliminated. So cut off time above 39 minutes at least.
If you arrive with a group, you get the same time than the first guy of the group, even if you’re the last one inside this group, if that’s what you mean
@@hansmiddelburg1366 exactly what the person before me wrote. I agree that he is older now, and that his body can't do what it did when he was younger. BUT, the temperature is also quite hot, and maybe had he done a little more heat acclimation it would've lessened the strain
That DSM break was executed to perfection
Indeed. 🎩🎩🎩
Was thrilled at 6 something AM in Hawaii. Cheering arms in the air and a few ponds away. 🎉 congrats to Romain and Frank.

It was midnight in my timezone and i am shouting and cheering for these 2. What a beautiful win!!!
Impressive, very stunning performance. With Pogacar permission.
Wow. What a great start to the Tour. So happy for Roman and his team. 👍😊
Now that’s bike racing. I was glued to tv for two hours.
I was out cycling

Buenas tardes FloBikes!!! I am in City Colombia!!! Than You for transmission. Very Good.
I dedicate this amazing stage to all those who said the tdf24 would be "boring" , what an emotional finish!
@@linesided I never heard one single person even come close to saying this tour would be boring. No clear favorite, how could it be?

what a race !!!!! greetings from Germany
What a beautiful start to le Tour!!! So happy for RB to finally have a yellow jersey ❤️
Me too!!
Best start to the tour I've ever seen 🎉
Agree!
“The breakaway makes it” is also my favorite TDF call
So good to see Bardet get the yellow
Great teamwork to get the win and great teamwork to keep Cavendish going, only in cycling are such sacrifices made.
Great first stage! Love the TDF!
Wow🎉🎉🎉 great ride and finish by DSM
Beautiful win!🚴♀️💪🚴♀️💪
Yes it was!
As thrilling a finish as I've seen in years. Bravo!
23 year old van den Broek, what a hero!
Jury is still out wether he’s really 15

Bravo!
Well-deserved win, although I support Tadej, yesterday I wanted one of them to win.
Love it when break aways win
Grazie Romain ! ❤
Great job warrior.
VIVA LA FRANCE!!!
Why? It was a gift? Bardet did nothing to earn this
awesome finish
Thanks again for the content
No worries!
what a day of tdf. well spend 5 hours today :D
Great Ride
Here we go!
Magnifique finition! 🙂
Congrats to the 2 lads at the front & to the TDF for helping me to avoid football, merci merci
How many miles did they do today?
You could see the peloton was slowing. 5 seconds per kilometre and it was growing. Ace.
How did it go for Gaudu? Did he get back into the peleton?
Bravo Romain 🎉
ganz prima - bleibt gesund, ihr Lieben!
It won’t be long before we actually have a stage that will shake up the TDF GC, in stage 4
Did Cav get eliminated since he was 30+ minutes behind?
He actually came in 39 minutes behind and were not eliminated but I do not know what the established cut off time were, just that he were not eliminated. So cut off time above 39 minutes at least.
No road gap this year 😞😓
I can never understand why more breakaways don't win more stages, but then I don't know anything about cycling races.
Cavendish - Lion in Winter
Can AI please give us 40-year-old Peter O'Toole in a Cav biopic?
I just threw up.
Torço muito para o Bardet 👏👏🇧🇷...e será Kavendish terá pernas pra bater o recorde do Canibal ?
O recorde é do proprio Cavendich e Eddy Merckx com 34 vitorias em etapas no tour !
How is it possible that van Aert and Vingegard where in time 😮
Please translate to english

Hi ,why Iran tv
Dosent broadcast anything about tourdo France ?jealous?
Where’s Bob Role
He’s doing the US broadcast on NBC/Peacock
Missing Gregor Brown's thoughful insights😢
Tour de fran impian semua atlet sepeda.
90% of the time they would not have survived.
At least Crashendish cant take anyone out finishing at the back...
Riders will have to be careful if Cavendish gets anywhere near a sprint finish, he is that desperate he could bring half the peloton down
Pog waste energy again
If he has the legs to win this TdF, one sprint in stage 1 will make absolutely zero difference
I’m tired just watching these men ride. Get up and do it all over again tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next day…
Poor Cavandish.....old man AGE has finally caught up with him....He is 39 years old. He had a great career. Time to retire, at least from the Tour.

Too bad Froome isn’t at the tour . We could see another over the hill cyclist
This aged well.
@@arconeagain ...I stand corrected....He had one more ace up his sleeve. Cavendish now has the record. He deserves it.
