    LUCK.!!! I will be honest, it was Kelly “Dimes and Vinnie’s sister” who saw us in 97’, brought Vinnie over, we partied at his bar Club House, we got a spot in Hells Half Acre Fest and signed by Maverick! Yes our music was great but that one lucky night got our CD to the right place, time & person

    Man, love your approach and honesty. Whoever thinks you are bragging needs to check his/her own insecurities. Keep it up!

    I've been trying to up my game on promoting myself and my music. I just dropped an EP of ambient guitar on Spotify and a bunch of streaming services. It's been rough, but I just have to keep on keepin on with putting my music out there. Been watching your channel for a long time Ray, love the videos, and you seem like a really cool down to earth dude🤟😎

      @@JH-ks9oi My EP is called The Part 1. It's under the name Hawaiian Shirt Guy. The EP is like ambient guitar, stuff you can chill out too. I got some metal stuff I've been working on as well, it's not released yet.

    I believe that originality is the key if you can make something that doesn't sound like others you can make it in the music business. It's more about that than talent.

    People today care way too much about what other people think. Just be yourself. Originality will shine through.

      Do you have any proof to back that up? Or are you just making a blanket statement? Unfortunately in my opinion originality alone doesn’t get you very far

    Ray, one thing to consider is the bands that are playing every weekend at the same bar, may be doing it because they do it for a living and they need the money! Back in the mid 80's to early 90's (before the good ol' internet) I played in bands both professionally and semi professionally traveling the upper midwest. 1986 there was only 28 days I didn't play a gig. I loved playing, but i also needed the money, as at that time I was playing for my living. The internet has changed those days dramatically, and I feel kinda sorry for those now days that will never experience traveling with your band mates in an old school bus and humping Hammond Organs, Leslie cabinets, and SVT bottoms up stairs to a second floor gig. Rock on!

    Pretty much the only way to get signed or make it is to have a massive following on instagram or youtube etc otherwise youre lost in the mix of 10k other great guitarists. Best thing i ever learned from a professional musician was skill does not equate to a great song that you can sell. Some of the best songs ever made were written with very simple parts. But they were different, or chatchy or whatever you know.

    • @mmaviator22
      @mmaviator22 11 дней назад

      Get ezdrummer. It's super simple once you get the hang of it and it will really happy you get the hang of midi drums. Also henning Paulie last I checked had a great midi drum course. That and there's 1000s of videos on youtube. But in my experience trying to program drums while writing kills the inspiration or can kill a session. That's why I said check out ezdrummer. You can come up with a riff or melody and if you have an idea in your head search on ezdrummer and boom you can use that to keep the inspiration going etc
