It isn't the size of the dog in the fight that matters but more the fight in the dog. Kyokushin is for everybody regardless of size, which was proven admirably by the "little" guy in the clip. Great video, by the way.
I have total respect for this smaller guy. He has more guts then most of the commenting guys here. He has true fighting spirit and doesn´t back down. He gives the great one (Glaube Feitosa) all he has to give, and believe me even though he is that small his fists hurt. Oooozz!
In a street confrontation there are no weight classes nor rules restricting how many assailants there might be in a fight. Both fighters demonstrated great spirit and willingness to fight as well as mutual respect. OSU!
OMG that's the second time I've seen Glaube Feitosa fight a small, tiny opponent. Of course, that guy is actually bigger in person. You must admit, Glaube felt sorry for the guy and didn't try to knock him out with a knee...
I'd have to give props to the big guy for showing some restraint and not pushing his advantage when it was clear he was winning on points. I think he could have really done some damage had he not been respectful of the other fighter's effort and courage. Good fighting spirit and good sportsmanship on both sides.
Reminds me of when I was a kid and put to fight taller, heavier, more experienced, and older opponents. Just because I used to wipe the mat with peers my size and even more experienced.
Just like in Judo they have ABSOLUTE weight class where people from different categories can meet. Usually bigger weights participate in this competition, but all the kudos to smaller guys...
he was very fast with the punches, the big one can't do nothing in close combat, but saw the oportunity to kick he's head; but the little one have really balls anyway!!
in Kyokushin, you can't punch your opponent's head, so the big guy (in here) must lower his body to punch, it's unfavourable for him. But you can see the little guy attack in hopeless, it doesn't have any effect to the big guy. What in real life? a punch from the big guy to the little guy's head could finish the fight immediately. sincerely, the little guy have an strong spirit :)
"Size don't matter when you have courage" . But in cases like these, courage just delays the inevitable. I was really hoping the little guy would win though, he really was able to take some punishment.
Getting punched repeatedly is the kyokushin way :P These guys can take a gazillion (give or take) punches and still keep going - thats what we train for.
Kyokushin is full-contact sparring. As such, it's the only form of karate known to regularly hold its own in actual fighting tournaments. It does have the weakness that it doesn't train with punches to the head, so boxing would be needed to supplement that deficiency if you went into MMA, but it's still light-years ahead of shotokan or TKD, which rely on point-based sparring. =P
true but if he was able to survive the rounds it would be a close match, unlike most point based martial arts kyokushin gives merit to those who can keep going even if its a one-sided match.
i agree those punches seemed to be really hurting in fact in kyokushin you can see when the on taking lots of body punches starts backing of because of the pain.
Yep pretty much what I have read too. Interestingly people have said that the bigger guy has an advantage by just being bigger, but having said that, trying to NOT punch the guy in the face is pretty hard for him, he's soo much taller, just getting down to him is awkward, I think I'd stick to kicking techniques
My hat goes off to the smaller guy! Yes his arse got served but he put up one Hell of a fight against someone twice his size! The big guy was quite respectful too, if not, he coulda planted several heavy kicks to the thighs! Pretty sure it would of been game over in 1 round!
I respect those who have the courage to fight even though they are small.
The man showed what true warrior spirit is all about. Don't give up no matter how high the odd are stacked against u.
It's not "the man in the fight" but "the fight in the man" that counts! Thanks for uploading!
Kyokushin practitioners are tuff, very tuff, as a rule: and this guy...damn, heart for days and sacks of courage...much respect to him.
What spirit! This is Kyokushin! Much Respect.
It isn't the size of the dog in the fight that matters but more the fight in the dog.

OMG that's the second time I've seen Glaube Feitosa fight a small, tiny opponent. Of course, that guy is actually bigger in person. You must admit, Glaube felt sorry for the guy and didn't try to knock him out with a knee...
That little dude has some serious courage. He goes right in.
Wow now that's spirit, even when getting pounded/knocked away he still comes right back at him.
He fought with heart. And didnt get knocked out. A true Warrior.
KUDOS - Morgan Freeman
Loved that Dou Mawashi of the little one, caught the big one totally offguard.
This is Courage. A great inspiration.
He just did not care how much beatings he took he just kept coming Awesome! Love that he went for the spin kick
I'd have to give props to the big guy for showing some restraint and not pushing his advantage when it was clear he was winning on points. I think he could have really done some damage had he not been respectful of the other fighter's effort and courage. Good fighting spirit and good sportsmanship on both sides.
Such a difference in size, but I respect the smaller dude for going all out.
Now, if the wheel kick had knocked the big guy out, this fight would be even more awesome
Reminds me of when I was a kid and put to fight taller, heavier, more experienced, and older opponents. Just because I used to wipe the mat with peers my size and even more experienced.
And because some great fighters train muay thai, it's the best marial art.?

It doesn't matter how hard you can hit, it matters how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.
the lil guy has the spirit of a giant

True kyokushin spirit.
Damn, the small guy looks like he's about 5'5" and the tall guy looks like he's atleast 6'5"
poor big guy, he couldnt hit the small guys chest cause the small guys head was getting in the way...
At 1:05 the ref pats the dwarf and signals 'that he needs to keep his head up' rofl.
Getting punched repeatedly is the kyokushin way :P These guys can take a gazillion (give or take) punches and still keep going - thats what we train for.
Fyll respect for the BIG guy in the mat...OSU

both fighters have etiquette, that's for sure ..

Most Kyokushin tournaments in Europe are open to outside stylist's,you should enter one with your superior skill im sure you will dominate .
There were 2 winners, 1 who won the match. 1 who won in spirit.
