Such a shame that the Badlees never made it bigger. Pete Palladino's voice is so mesmerizing and unique. These guys were so great.

It is surprising. They were much better than many bands of this genre and seemed like they’d go all the way. I was in a cover band with Bret in college and really had no idea how good or serious he was.

I saw the Badless on my birthday, April 22, 1995. They played at the Chameleon Night Club. After their show I helped them carry their equipment out, then their drummer invited me back with them to have some beers. I still have Ron Simasek's used drum stick. It was a fun night!

I adopted this song as my life's theme song in the 90's. Now in '22 it means more to me than ever!!
    A true underrated classic!!

My local radio station in Texas gave this song heavy rotation in 96 and 97. They even played one of the station's festivals too.

Me too! I was in grad school, had to spend 15 hours a week looking thru a microscope at salt marsh mud samples, picking out tiny animals with tweezers...would put this & a Counting Crows CD on & listen to 'em over & over & over & over &....saved most of my sanity!

I used to think he said “I’ve faded in the ground”. Only recently I learned that he says “I hate hitting the ground”. One of many songs whose lyrics I’ve misunderstood for a long time.
