- Learn how to make a useful long flat origami box using A4 or letter paper, I made this box especially to fit the origami pencil tray ♥

I used glue on mine, it would still work without glue, but wouldn't be that useful.

2 sheets of A4/letter paper or any rectangular paper.
Also works with square paper.
Glue - yes glue, you purist origami fans out there.. sorry. ✌
My paper was 80 gsm but would be better to use thicker paper.

I really like your videos, they're easy to follow and you have lots of interesting ideas. The only thing that confuses me is when you say 'start with white side up' but you use paper that's the same colour on both sides - I often lose track of which side is which.
Thanks 😀 yes I understand about the white side, it's for the people who have a white side, if I used the double sided paper.. It would end up being very small as I only have 15 x 15 cm in that kind, it's hard to get it here! I usually use thicker paper, especially for boxes 💕
Hmm, I hadn't thought about the availability of double-sided paper in that size. It's usually only the origami squares that come in two colours. Sometimes I cut gift-wrapping paper to size if I can find a good quality paper that doesn't tear easily and is thick enough.
Ah yes I do that too sometimes, although it can be a bit shiny! 💛

@PaperKawaii is this tutorial for the lid or the box? if this is the lid, how do i make the box? also, what is the size of this box?
They made both lid and box, also i think they used A4 size paper to make both lid and box, hope it helps :)

I kinda gave up cause the lid was smaller than my box.
I think you can exchange them like for example, like you said your lid is smaller than your box, you can use your box as lid and your lid as box :)

I tried this using A4 paper and it came out very well but it is not strong enough to set the lid to the base part

so easy to do.....and so easy to realize the problem with this only at the end: it DOESNT FIT! the two pieces are just the same size at the end, so i cant close anything, goddammit
+9thmaggot I didn't have this problem, but if you do, you can either loosen the folds of the lid, or start with paper that's a bit smaller for the box, or you could overfold the box a bit ... 🙂
