If Christopher Nolan really did leave WB, I can understand why. There has to be much more reason behind it because WB have become really iffy these days. Not trying to bad mouth because I’ve liked some of WB’s previous films, but WB honestly don’t deserve to have DC under their umbrella.

Zacks style might not be everyone's cup of tea but at least you can respect his passion for what he does. He is an artist and not just a Hollywood hack. I personally liked his vision for the dceu and it's awesome that he got to finish justice league. I even liked bvs and man of steel was a masterpiece, his best film in my opinion.

Man of Steel, BVS and the Snyder cut all together make such an amazing story, I hope that one way or another we get to see Zack’s vision for the next justice league movies.
I've had my fair share of problems with some of Zack Snyder's films, but there's no denying that he has so much passion for the craft of film making and genuinely cares about the stories he tells. I'm so glad he got a second chance to tell the story he wanted to.
Zack ..ever since the start..has astounded me with his visual story telling, unlike anyone else, he's been using the majick of cinema in ways leagues ahead of everyone else. .he has the ability to conjure the whole movie, in detail, in his head, and is able to create the detailed story boards, (just like a comic) to share that vision to everyone working with him.. he's brave, experimental and super passionate about his craft, and clearly ahead of his time for most.. I've personally been waiting for something even close to his vision to appear in cinema for decades. His movies do have their flaws, but over all ..that's not too important, and often because of studio interference. .over all, he's definitely someone to watch .. he hasn't totally perfected his message just yet. ..back to your comment though..he is known for being a really great person, by everyone who works with him, a true role model amongst the many creeps and ego monsters still in the scene.. and I hope he gets to fulfil his DC cinematice vision..because he is a life long fan of the stories he's bringing to life..and no one else could come close to what he is capable of..

I find it interesting how Snyder is doing all the promotion for this movie. Normally the actors do it and get all the spotlight but given the journey to this film, I think it is fitting that Snyder is doing it all
My guess is the actors are just exhausted by the whole experience and don't want anything to do with it. They loved Zack but they probably also know WB is just going to shit on any hopes people have. The marketing for the original JL was brutal where you could see Affleck just mentally going, "I don't want to be here getting blamed for this shit."
There’s also contractual issues with it too. As much as the cast would love to do press junkets to promote the film, they would need to be paid. So the most you’ll see them promote it is through Twitter and IG.

Those guys were true auteurs and were misunderstood in there time by a lot of critics with the exception of a handful of them. They knew what they were doing was bold, challenging, thought provoking, entertaining and yet artful in the genre when so many are just copycats. All those guys did some crazy stuff in the genre and subverted it and challenged audiences and some audiences loved it and some hated it or were left scratched their heads and didn't get it. Zack Snyder's films polarize audiences and split people down the middle but over time his work will be more and more appreciated and respected, the tide has turned somewhat. Sadly an issue no unlike back in 2013-14 with the Arrowverse with characters such as Deadshot, the Suicide Squad, Batman, and so on: they are afraid that people will get confused if there is more than one version of the character. And since they are developing a GL series for Max, and there is a GL movie in production hell, they likely said no.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League was an absolute masterpiece. If WB doesn’t green light at least two more movies with him, I will have lost all faith in humanity.
Could his John Stewart be John David Washington? I know Nolan wanted to see him as a Green Lantern so maybe he pulled a little “Inception” on Snyder’s mind.
The Concept Art of Batman finding the Parademon Nest was never seen means it was not shot because of WB, also we are missing that Desaad shot that we got in the DCFandome trailer.

But the executives got greedy and insisted to rush edit the project bringing in mr Ginger face to reshoot scenes and cut shit up. Just for a bonus pay check which caused the reputation of their JL IP to decline. Has to be the poorest business decision ever by a studio.
After having seen ZSJL, I have to wonder why they even reshot anything in the first place. All of the story beats are the same as the HBO version. The hbo version is just far better. So like why the hell even bring in another director in the bloody first place.
It's pretty obvious what they tried to do with the theatrical cut. They had two priorities: 1) 2 hours runtime no matter what, and, I think more importantly to them, 2) copy Marvel's success. They wanted to have their own Avengers with the same jokey style, but they failed to realize what all copycats fail to realize, you never get success by going "me too". It's not a unique example by any means, most companies are doing the same thing in all industries at all times, just look at video games companies copying whatever is seen as the most popular genre at the time, and creating "must play" clones that fail disastrously because they have no authentic core.
The real Justice League (ZSJL) is a beautiful movie on so many levels. The connection that Zack Snyder has to the characters of DC goes beyond being a fan/storyteller. These characters are heroes because of the tragedy that they overcome. Being an adoptive parent like Zack Snyder ties him spiritually to the plight of orphans and children who have lost parents. Like Superman, Batman, Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman, etc. In many ways, it makes Zack's loss of Autumn all the more tragic. I can't think of a more perfect director than Snyder to tell this story.
Snyder is such a down to earth guy. I’m not the biggest fan of his style but I have nothing but respect for him. His cut is what should have been in theaters

I just found this channel. I’ve been following your other channel at Cinema Blend for quite a while. Great interview and even after a year of ZSJL’s release it’s still a movie that is still in such high demand! In fact, just in my opinion only, ZSJL is such a great movie that it has become the movie that I always revert back to (in the same manner of having a drink after a stressful day) after watching highly anticipated movies that disappoint, for example: The Batman, Thor L&T, Jurassic World Dominion, CW and some Disney+ shows, etc. I personally hope for the Snyderverse to be restored and exist alongside everything else and really unite the fandom.

It's interesting that Superman makes reference to Bruce and Lois in BvS with "she was my world and you took her from me". But then that angle was removed by WB from JL so now the baby is Clark's. However, this could actually make for an interesting take on the Flash scene in BvS. It would go: Flash came from Timeline A (the first time Superman turned, where Lois is pregnant with Bruce's child) and tells Bruce Lois is the key, save Lois...but he's too early. This creates Timeline B, where Bruce is given this message and wonders on it. He never enters a relationship with Lois as he is haunted by this. In timeline B (which we see at the end of ZSJL) Flash goes back in time but this time with more understanding of when to go and what to say. Now he goes to the Batcave just before Darkseid arrives and is again told to save Lois. This time he has a chance to get to Lois before Darkseid appears and saves her, sacrificing himself. This creates Timeline C, where the JL unite the forces of Earth and defeat Darkseid. Not perfect....as Clark would have had to get Lois pregnant while he was alive....but hey ho!

After Watchmen and especially Dr. Manhattan's origin scene, I have never felt that depth of emotions again in such movies. That scene made me love Zack Snyder's work. So much style and with substance too. It's tough to find. But he truly understands it. Visuals...Music... Dialogues...Emotions. In his work, they somehow all come together beautifully complementing each other and uplift a scene to mythical and epic plane. I have been waiting for it to happen again. But none of the movies nowadays reach there. Years later, felt same in the BvS opening scene (A Beautiful Lie) and now during Cyborg helping the lady scene and Flash reversing time. These are my absolute favorite scenes in every sense. They contain so much packed in them. Thank You Zack for creating such deeply moving and beautiful masterpiece! You have proven that our faith in you was justified. #RestoreTheSnyderverse.

Zacks style might not be everyone's cup of tea but at least you can respect his passion for what he does. He is an artist and not just a Hollywood hack. I personally liked his vision for the dceu and it's awesome that he got to finish justice league. I even liked bvs and man of steel was a masterpiece, his best film in my opinion.

I've had my fair share of problems with some of Zack Snyder's films, but there's no denying that he has so much passion for the craft of film making and genuinely cares about the stories he tells. I'm so glad he got a second chance to tell the story he wanted to.

Zack ..ever since the start..has astounded me with his visual story telling, unlike anyone else, he's been using the majick of cinema in ways leagues ahead of everyone else. .he has the ability to conjure the whole movie, in detail, in his head, and is able to create the detailed story boards, (just like a comic) to share that vision to everyone working with him.. he's brave, experimental and super passionate about his craft, and clearly ahead of his time for most.. I've personally been waiting for something even close to his vision to appear in cinema for decades. His movies do have their flaws, but over all ..that's not too important, and often because of studio interference. .over all, he's definitely someone to watch .. he hasn't totally perfected his message just yet. ..back to your comment though..he is known for being a really great person, by everyone who works with him, a true role model amongst the many creeps and ego monsters still in the scene.. and I hope he gets to fulfil his DC cinematice vision..because he is a life long fan of the stories he's bringing to life..and no one else could come close to what he is capable of..

I find it interesting how Snyder is doing all the promotion for this movie. Normally the actors do it and get all the spotlight but given the journey to this film, I think it is fitting that Snyder is doing it all
My guess is the actors are just exhausted by the whole experience and don't want anything to do with it. They loved Zack but they probably also know WB is just going to shit on any hopes people have. The marketing for the original JL was brutal where you could see Affleck just mentally going, "I don't want to be here getting blamed for this shit."

Those guys were true auteurs and were misunderstood in there time by a lot of critics with the exception of a handful of them. They knew what they were doing was bold, challenging, thought provoking, entertaining and yet artful in the genre when so many are just copycats. All those guys did some crazy stuff in the genre and subverted it and challenged audiences and some audiences loved it and some hated it or were left scratched their heads and didn't get it. Zack Snyder's films polarize audiences and split people down the middle but over time his work will be more and more appreciated and respected, the tide has turned somewhat.

Sadly an issue no unlike back in 2013-14 with the Arrowverse with characters such as Deadshot, the Suicide Squad, Batman, and so on: they are afraid that people will get confused if there is more than one version of the character. And since they are developing a GL series for Max, and there is a GL movie in production hell, they likely said no.
They are execs who mostly come from the world of telecommunications and big business. They don't have a great handle on art and entertainment.

But the executives got greedy and insisted to rush edit the project bringing in mr Ginger face to reshoot scenes and cut shit up. Just for a bonus pay check which caused the reputation of their JL IP to decline. Has to be the poorest business decision ever by a studio.

After having seen ZSJL, I have to wonder why they even reshot anything in the first place. All of the story beats are the same as the HBO version. The hbo version is just far better. So like why the hell even bring in another director in the bloody first place.

It's pretty obvious what they tried to do with the theatrical cut. They had two priorities: 1) 2 hours runtime no matter what, and, I think more importantly to them, 2) copy Marvel's success. They wanted to have their own Avengers with the same jokey style, but they failed to realize what all copycats fail to realize, you never get success by going "me too". It's not a unique example by any means, most companies are doing the same thing in all industries at all times, just look at video games companies copying whatever is seen as the most popular genre at the time, and creating "must play" clones that fail disastrously because they have no authentic core.
I just noticed these past few months that Snyder is singlehandledly marketing his own movie, not WB. Mostly just him. How fcked up is that?

The real Justice League (ZSJL) is a beautiful movie on so many levels. The connection that Zack Snyder has to the characters of DC goes beyond being a fan/storyteller. These characters are heroes because of the tragedy that they overcome. Being an adoptive parent like Zack Snyder ties him spiritually to the plight of orphans and children who have lost parents. Like Superman, Batman, Flash, Cyborg, Aquaman, etc. In many ways, it makes Zack's loss of Autumn all the more tragic. I can't think of a more perfect director than Snyder to tell this story.

I just found this channel. I’ve been following your other channel at Cinema Blend for quite a while. Great interview and even after a year of ZSJL’s release it’s still a movie that is still in such high demand! In fact, just in my opinion only, ZSJL is such a great movie that it has become the movie that I always revert back to (in the same manner of having a drink after a stressful day) after watching highly anticipated movies that disappoint, for example: The Batman, Thor L&T, Jurassic World Dominion, CW and some Disney+ shows, etc. I personally hope for the Snyderverse to be restored and exist alongside everything else and really unite the fandom.

It's interesting that Superman makes reference to Bruce and Lois in BvS with "she was my world and you took her from me". But then that angle was removed by WB from JL so now the baby is Clark's. However, this could actually make for an interesting take on the Flash scene in BvS. It would go: Flash came from Timeline A (the first time Superman turned, where Lois is pregnant with Bruce's child) and tells Bruce Lois is the key, save Lois...but he's too early. This creates Timeline B, where Bruce is given this message and wonders on it. He never enters a relationship with Lois as he is haunted by this. In timeline B (which we see at the end of ZSJL) Flash goes back in time but this time with more understanding of when to go and what to say. Now he goes to the Batcave just before Darkseid arrives and is again told to save Lois. This time he has a chance to get to Lois before Darkseid appears and saves her, sacrificing himself. This creates Timeline C, where the JL unite the forces of Earth and defeat Darkseid. Not perfect....as Clark would have had to get Lois pregnant while he was alive....but hey ho!
23:21 Yalan Gur was written into Alan Scott's backstory in the 90s, as part of the ancient origins of his ring. The story was drawn by an aged Martin Nodell, Alan Scott's golden age creator. It was such a thrill to see this obscure but interesting character up close.

After Watchmen and especially Dr. Manhattan's origin scene, I have never felt that depth of emotions again in such movies. That scene made me love Zack Snyder's work. So much style and with substance too. It's tough to find. But he truly understands it. Visuals...Music... Dialogues...Emotions. In his work, they somehow all come together beautifully complementing each other and uplift a scene to mythical and epic plane.
I have been waiting for it to happen again. But none of the movies nowadays reach there.
Years later, felt same in the BvS opening scene (A Beautiful Lie) and now during Cyborg helping the lady scene and Flash reversing time. These are my absolute favorite scenes in every sense. They contain so much packed in them.
