The album "The Devil Made Me Do It" is from 1990. Back in the early nineties you heard a lot of scratching and funk-related musical elements in hip-hop music, so with PARIS. To me, too, it sounds more developed than many other tracks recorded in this year.

I like the record, musically, however, altogether you can label the message (like PE tracks from that time) "balck nationalistic". Personally I cannot really relate to those particular sections of his lyrics. There always will arise the question: "Well, how about the 'devil'? Does he include ALL folks who do not happen to be born black? And how about sunni muslim people? Are they not seen as brethren in God?" &ct. - Hmm, maybe it´s wrong to deal this way with art, but as we listen and understand...
