  • In the early Seventies - before signing with Philadelphia International Records - The Three Degrees (line up: Fayette Pinkney (R.I.P.), Sheila Ferguson and Valerie Holiday), recorded 2 albums for Roulette Records. The albums were: 'Maybe' and 'So much love'. Both album got released on CD a couple of years ago by BBR .
I edited the song 'Ebb tide' (from the album 'So much love') a bit, since I always thought the song was too short.
4 minutes of pure vocal magic from the sublime trio of Valerie, Sheila and Fayette.. three voices moving effortlessly from pure velvet which becomes slinky silk then soulful stirrings with an ending of glorious harmony that pierces the hardest of hearts. One of the greatest ballads of The Three Degrees.

It was intended as an instrumental with some vocals. Like ‘The Sound Of Philadelphia’. The ladies would work out there vocals by themselves.
Songs like ‘Dirty ol’man’, ‘When will I see you again’, ‘Year of decision’, etc were written for them.

I prefer the long version with vocals. I made an edit myself of that great song. Is also here on RUclips. Enjoy
