I'd almost forgotten how exciting rallycross is grew up watching it at croft, should be one of the top motorsports absolutely phenomenal competition thanks for the upload favourite was the mk4 x track what a knarly weapon
Amazing, what a gem. Mad cars, lots of mud, and some rather unsporting driving in the final Lol, and of course, the late, great, voice of motorsport himself. Wonderful.
@@gothicpagan.666 Given the lack of results and the NA V6 engine , it's easily understandable for the Metro 6R4 to be the less desirable Group B. As for the RS200 however , it just seems strange (with today's eyes obviously) because if not big wins it had at least some potential (turbo , awd , small , nimble..).
@@giuseppec8158 In theory 200 off were built of every group B homologation model. As of after 1986 they were surplus to requirement, rally cross being the last bastion to use them in angre. The upsurge in popularity in this sport meant that teams were able to attract big sponsors and cars developed at a very fast rate, untill the old group B machines were no longer the thing to have. Great times🙂
Shame They Dont Have Rallycross On TV Now,Also Murrey Walker Made Everything Exciting ,Unlike the Gang Of Muppets on F1 We Have to Put up With in 2023.

I’m at an age that I was able to see all the rallycross GP’s live. Also had an uncle that raced in the early events.

Glad you enjoyed it
I used to love all forms of Motorsport back then but this event was at the top. So so good!
Amazing! I was there! Sunday 6th December 1987.
Incredible to think how rare cars like the rs200 and the S4 were modified & thrown around..
Certainly 6R4's were comparatively inexpensive, due simply because no one wanted them, RS 200'S were in a similar position.
