This was my first 1000cc motorcycle. I gave it gas in the first on-ramp to the freeway and it was in A mode. My fingers could barely hold on to the sheer power of that beast!
I started on a 13 GSXR 1000, mostly because I'm a larger guy and the body just fit better. Thankfully I've been safe and plan on keeping it that way, but it definitely makes you wary of the throttle and your motions because of the responsiveness. That's with any bike, just respect it and learn it the right way
I started on a 2011 cbr1000rr which I still have. Also have an 06 cbr600rr and don't have any regrets starting on the 1k. Taught me to respect the bike and the power it has. Still my favorite bike that I've rode, and I've been on quite a few since then.
@@AndrewHartsock it's kinda funny actually cause I bought the bike for my wife originally because she used to race semi pro motocross and just decided I wanted to ride it one day and took off on it 🤣
@@AndrewHartsock I got a smirk when I read you'd never gone that fast before. I remember that feeling. I'm sure the speed will leave a larger impression on you than it did me as I was in a '93 Mustang the first time I got over about 130. I hope I've got all that out of my system after all these years bc I'm about to drop the cash on one of those CBR500s. I just want to ride and feel peppy compared to my Taco. I don't plan (that could change) to spend time cruising the freeway/interstate so hopefully I don't miss the cat-like quickness (from ~75 up to 120) of the super sports. I KNOW I won't miss that seating position of those faster bikes, either. Very nice comparo video and wicked scenery.
I think if you try to aim for 10minute videos and trim it to where all the talking points are you’ll have a video everyone will subscribe too. I found you engaging as a neutral watcher but the length wore me out. The power on the GSXR looks crazy!
i have the same bike i love it im getting the moore mafia ecU flash sending it out this week i just got the m-4 exhaust and the sprint air filter cant wait to see the difference in performance..i wont lie i also had a blue o6 R1 with custom toce exhaust sprint filter with a flashed ecu and let me say so far that was my favorite but i hear the k6 should be better when its done we will see
from 50 hp to over 150 is a leap... but i think you should ride what you want. If you have a good head and throttle discipline you can ride anything. I personally like the GSX S1000 F same bike basically but set upright more.... and cheaper new.
Look, I am a beginner, I have 2k km and my bike is a k7 1000 gsxr. I rode that in C mode at first and now after I learnt the throttle controll a bit ride it in normal mode but very reticent to give it the beans because it's still scarry af and that is actually because I know that cant turn or stop o where my limits are. It makes you respect it a lot. I am having oodles of fun with the thing and not scared to ride it but scared to twist the damn thing because my arms feel like they are gonna lengthen a bit each time. Go for it but only if you are sure you controll your outbursts. It wont forgive.
its crazy how i use to think my gsxr600 and the R6 i had were fast Af till i got gaped by a R1 an and a cbr 1000 and couldn’t keep up with them lol so got my R1 and was like dammm now im on my k6 1000 and i miss the R1 but everyone says once it gets tuned and the new exhaust air filter ill change my mind hope so lol
Man my first bike is a GSXR600 and I just started riding, however bike was given to me from a friend thats only reason why I am starting w the 600 ! Great vid
Thanks! Totally doable to start on a 600cc bike or bigger although I'm glad I started on a smaller bike. I think it gave me a better understanding of just how powerful a super bike can be. Gotta respect the monster inside the machine haha
I love the idea of getting a motorcycle. But at this speed are you not like super wary of the ground? Like one bit of debris, or like a crack in the floor and it just BAM done.
Hey. What are you using to not register the breath in the mic? I'm always hearing my breath in recordings. Even if I dont do motovlogging, it is preety awful to always hear it. I tried to put it under a protection pad inside the helmet, but still....
In German you can drive this legal at full speed. But i think on Legal street you dont need so much power. It is nice to have. On our Landstreets we just allow 60mph on our Highways you could give all you have ;). I Have driven 250kmh thats 160mph, on local streets are so much assholes that you couldnt drive that fast safely. I dont like driven so fast straigt. I like drive more twisti roads so 60-80 mph is more my workplace. so a bik 40 - 95 hp is max to have fun. and keeping my driving licence ;)
Subbed bro! I got a motovlog channel too with a CBR500R. I just got my license 2 weeks ago and loving it! I’m already a skilled rider and considering getting a 600rr or 1000rr. 😅 Are you still thinking about upgrading? What are your thoughts? Nice channel!! 🤙
@@AndrewHartsock How does the CBR performance compare to the Harley? I have an ultra limited and thinking of downsizing to the CBR but worried it'll feel slow compared to the Harley.
It’s been a few years so it’s hard to compare the differences. But I can say it’s 2 completely different styles of riding. CBR is definitely more sporty and way lighter of a bike so it’s more of a “fun” bike for me compared to the 900lb cruiser haha
Do you know the proper way of steering a motorcycle? 😅 you said its not easy. Lol its called countersteering. Heavy motorcycle doesnt turn by leaning and s😅teering like a feather weight bicycle lol i learned that on z900 as my first bike. I was fighting it to turn untill i learned proper technique "counter-steering"
Man, with your skills you could do exactly the same and at the same speeds with your CBR500. If you really want to take advantage of all the power you should fly through the corners much faster, basically to attain the skills of a racer, but this is really really dangerous! Think. Do you really need it!? You can have as much fun or even more with your CBR. Flying at higher speeds you give yourself zero chances to make a mistake, but we are humans, we make mistakes it’s just a question of time.
I agree. That is why I originally bought the 500R and an extra bonus is it really helped me learn to ride the "proper" way or at least made me do more research in regards to how to ride a motorcycle. Now that I've rode a few different bikes I will say the upgraded performance of not just the engine, but the brakes, tires etc... is what is pushing me to get a new bike currently. No hate on the 500R but it definitely has no premium level performance qualities imo
@@AndrewHartsock Just found out today that my colleague got in a bad bike crash. Multiple bones fractures. He had to lay 23 days in one position without moving! Look after yourself kid.

My first was a zx6r. Then a K5 750, K71000. Today I have a 15 750.

How come you went from 1000 to 750?
I would lose my License so fast if I went back to a liter bike. The time it takes to get to 90 mph on the 500 you would be doing 170+ in a 1000
Quite literally 🤣
