My daughter in the UK has a 18m old EV6 and has a 12v battery problem and has been told Kia are in process of a recall. Great news as she is just about to holiday overseas.
2023 EV6 owner says THANKS for being so on top of things for us.
They need to upgrade the hardware, not just the software
Just got ev 24 Ev6 GT line finsihed with the recall. My dealer had my car for maybe 50 minutes before they gave it back to me . Pretty quick.

In Canada, the KIA recall number is RC201
Mine went "pop" last Thursday, so the recall in the UK hasn't come soon enough. Oct 22, 13,000 miles.

@Swwils So far, it's been the dealership, but they have said that they will be transferring to Kia now that they have confirmed it is a warranty issue. I got a call yesterday from the dealership confirming it was the ICCU that was the cause. Now, I have to wait for parts!

Kimchi is getting all flashed up on Friday. One detail not mentioned in this video is that KIA's recall web site for consumers does not yet show the recall if you put in your VIN as of today May 8 -- but dealers can see it and will schedule appointments.
Actually, I take that back. As of tonight just now, the recall does appear on the KIA recall site if you input your vin
We got our notice in New Zealand yesterday, appointment made today. 2022 EV6.
I get what you mean about components getting toasted. Let’s hope this is the fix.
I sure hope so! After this I can’t see them doing anything besides just blanket replacing every single ICCU in every E-GMP car
@@TheIoniqGuy I hope so too. We spent some time on a motorway in our late Leaf when its 12V battery failed. It was very scary & very dangerous. Luckily all the trucks went around us - one was rather close. But the Leaf had 6 ‘sick’ cells so the traction battery will become our house battery.

At about 9:50 you mentioned that you've heard from a handful of people that "...had the recall done and still had their ICCU fail". Are you referring to the TSB SC271 voluntary software update from last year or SC302 that just hit? Because AFAIK no one has had the SC302 recall completed and within the last 24 to 48 hours, had their ICCU fail. You might want to clarify. TIA!

@@TheIoniqGuy Last year's update was SC271 and as you mentioned, not a recall. In the video it sounds like you're saying that folks that have gotten the new recall (SC302), completed have still had their ICCU fail. It may confuse folks is all. Thanks!

uhh ICCU is an Integrated Charging Control Unit. Nothing Intelligent about it. LOL.
It's referred to as both in Hyundai and Kia's recalls. It doesn't really matter. But yeah, it’s not like it’s some hive mind lol
I’m getting my 2024 GV60 serviced tomorrow. Hopefully the ICCU doesn’t need to get replaced.

Have you had charging issues since your charge port experiment? I have all the TSBs now installed but for reliability purposes, I am charging at 60% so I don’t get a ton of notifications saying charging interrupted.
I would love to get back to the way it was before, but in reality it only means finishing charging at 10 pm vs midnight.
No issues since. Car charges at 11kW from low SOC to 100%. Granted, that’s been mostly during cool temperatures so it’ll be interesting to see if it stays that way especially with the newest software that seems to be more apt to derate.
Question is can it fail twice or more with a replacement unit also failing...it's an important question ?
Yes, it can fail multiple times without the proper firmware update. With the new firmware it shouldn’t fail again but that assumes the firmware update actually works this time.
Mine went pop 4 weeks ago… Still waiting on a backordered ICCU.
I also had the previous software update done as well. Unfortunately going to lemon law the car now and buy a used bolt, then switch to doing road trips in my mazda ICE car.
We are looking to do the same. Dropped the car off 4/1/24. It’s now 5/18 with no firm date on repair.
@@josephbrown7212 My EV6 finally got repaired after 35 days in total. Still probably going to pursue a lemon but at least it’s in my possession now.
