Jordan should get an EV6 instead of a model 3. Plenty of Tesla content out there.

I'm currently driving a Kia Sorento and am very satisfied. Will consider an EV 6 when I get a new car.

The biggest difference that should be coming for the US spec car is the NACS charging port (aka SAE J3400) and the US spec car probably won't have the rear amber turn signals like the Korea/Euro spec version. For those who doubt the NACS charging port is coming in the US, please note that back in October, Min Woo Park, Kia's head of global product planning said the EV6 would be the first Kia EV getting it by Q4 2024 which means it will be in the 2025 model.

Love our EV9 and Ioniq 5N charging speed. We have a 350kw charger near our home. Great to power up quickly before our road trips.

Having long dark winter nights in Canada it would be great if they improve the poor 2023 EV6 gt-line headlights. Our daughter’s 2019 Kia Niro EV limited trim has far superior lighting. I would definitely trade up for Wireless AppleCarplay, 84 kwh battery, digital rear mirror, extra rear side airbags and improved headlights.

My 2022 EV6 is my first EV. I am very happy with my purchase. I don't like the door handles and the combined radio/AC touch controls. You did miss a major upgrade in the new EV6: true OTA updates. Current models only allow OTA updates for maps. I have to go to the dealership again for another software upgrade for ICCU, which is a safety recall by NTSB. I felt misled by Kia with my 2022 when they said that it would role out OTAs but then never did beyond maps

Should charge similarly to the Ioniq 5 N, I'm pretty sure it's the same battery.

it will also get the fingerprint profile thing, OTA updates on everything just like the EV9.

Thanks Francie and Jordan, keep an eye on the NA version when it becomes available. I personally like the minimalism of the Tesla which is my car today. My wife is put off by the lack of levers and buttons because she feels that layout is easier to learn and commit to "muscle memory". The Hyundai/Kia lines are at the top of her list although the ioniq line seems a little behind the curve next to the Kia. The design is a good mix of future look in a fairly subtle way and I think the fact that it looks pretty much like any car on the road today is a plus for her.

I love my EV6. It’s still one of the if not the best EVs on the market in my price range. This will not make me upgrade, I keep my cars longer and the changes do not make a difference for me. I would like a better route planning system, it always wants me to go to a charger with over 20% remaining battery. The infotainment system is in general very complex to use with many submenus and different layout depending on where you are. It should be more intuitive like an iPhone. I wonder if it’s going to be like the EV9 which is an upgrade over the EV6.

I like the new front but my 2022 still looks current in my mind. I need to see it in person before I can decide. The rear LED signatures look less unique so I prefer mine however the interior upgrades and WIRELESS carplay....jealous.

Looks like the front end is more aero, but the dampening, structural changes and bigger battery added weight thus reducing overall efficiency.... but importantly... it didn't lose range. I like the design changes, it looks even better than it did!

Notably, the front end of the GT-line trim differs from the lower trims. @justdrivepov6263 has a detailed video of this specification. It is also hard to predict what KIA will offer in our market. For example, the Ioniq5 and 6 have digital side mirrors in their offering, but we don't have them for the EV9, even though they exist in other markets.

  • @berthogendoorn2133

I love the fact that the headlights will no longer be the less than optimum LED reflectors, the LED Projector style are normally far better lets see how they perform. I am wondering if drag co-efficient will have dropped with the improved air-o designed front end change.

If you are in NA are you able to use the UK/EU V2L adapter to get 3kw out of the battery rather than being limited on the 120V north americal ones (general question about any E-GMP car)?

    • @Kiwidaedong
      @Kiwidaedong Месяц назад

No. The V2L adapter for UK has the type 2 connector. NA cars use type 1 connectors.

I like the look of the refresh, but I also still like my 22' GT-Line AWD. A few nice enhancements to it are the elimination of the piano black interior trim pieces, the wider top on the steering wheel, and most importantly, the larger battery pack. While we're not sure about the U.S. spec version, I hope Kia incorporates the NACS port vs. CCS. In any case, I REALLY wish Kia would have made dedicated separate controls for the radio/AC system. I've owned my EV6 for over two years now, and I still can't stand the combined control panel.

    • @bullshitbingo2259

Doesn't make sense for 800V vehicles to charge at outdated 400V charging networks like the one from Tesla, they can only get 100kW from those charging stations. You can charge with 50kW at plenty parking lots, malls etc. if you have more time and want to charge slower. Only the KIA EV5 and EV3 could actually profit from the Tesla charging network because they are using a 400V system.

Meh, seems like the same basic car as the 2022 I had and got rid of. It has a nice charging curve and… that’s about it. The software stack still looks like hot garbage, the most important features of which will get paywalled after a year ownership. Meanwhile my Mach E gives me phone as a key, remote start, trip scheduling, cabin preconditioning, and live navigation with nary a paywall in sight and while it doesn’t charge nearly as fast it charges fast enough. I’ve driven it all the way from NH to Richmond, Virginia and only needed to stop three times for about 30 to 35 minutes each stop to charge and frankly was grateful for the rest break each time. A monster charging curve is all well and good but give me a well rounded EV any day of the week.
