    Where is the turbo inlet getting air from? The fan will have low impact if the turbo is drawing hot air off the v mount setup.

    I have the same issue on my FD with the greddy vmount. Heat soaks very fast if you're not moving. I have a vented hood now which helps, but I think you're fan on top of ic is a good idea maybe with the hood too

    So move the intake out of the engine bay.
    I was seeing 150 temps on my FD with the filter on the turbo. I moved it up by the head light over the frame rail and built a sealed box that it sits in that pulls air from the front of the car. Temps don’t get above more then 20degs above ambient now.

    The issues was not a let down, it just shows the path of aftermarket modifications and all way to engineer around the problems you've had. Good job on the car you save someone money and research set ups more.

    ive been shopping for the perfect used ic setup and what ive noticed is especially noticble on subi ic is.. the hot side is grouped whole and thru the ic then the cool side is all compressing to the charge pipes size to coupler

    You"re going to have upgrade your electrical system. You got fans everywhere. Looks like you're gonna need that HO alt.

    how come such a high idle? 1500 pretty aggressive for a street port imo, i cant believe ur intake temps got that hot, insane some of it could be false data as the sensor gets heatshoaked pretty bad,

    • @MohrGarage
      @MohrGarage  3 года назад

      It's not tuned yet so idle is high. Still testing everything, going back to a different set up....

    Should’ve seen me in 2019 pulling into burning man in the 86GXL. Talk about overheating I had to drive with a hood up! I think you make this rx7 a lot more complicated than it needs to be, respectfully. I’ve had these things for like 20 years and really it’s not much, even the t2. I bought mine like five years ago and made a video about the build and paint. it’s like seven minutes long

    Turbo is drawing air in the engine bay compounding the problem.

    I think a twin SPAL would have been a better choice with some ducting for the rad. For the intake maybe some Water Methanol Injection kit

    • @MohrGarage
      @MohrGarage  3 года назад

      Well the radiator has two spal fans and ducting

      @@MohrGarage I did not know that , i will watch the build series and have a look at that. it maybe a ricer thing but you could try some bonnet spacers in the rear to see if that helps.

    just play with the idea of oarge heat expanding zones flowing grouping thru exchangers and compressing velocity thru tighter piped derected forced throat induction or sumin... still want that beat up s5 front end mann...,.

  • @daesyoung
    @daesyoung 3 года назад

    to be real dog, thats why vmounts arnt flat... and the greddy version is slightly angle with the end tanks with full swooped funneled charge pipe couplers... but the induction from front into the gril is ussually 1/3 and then shud expand to the face and slightly narrowing exit 2/3.. the degree of angle entering and exiting shud just ramp steady linear constant... they say the air running the walls of the ducting is faster cooling while the centers are tumbling low pressure... so grouping it by kinda like why exhaust ports are smaller cause kore velocity to relieve thrush... also think abt a rear diffuser on our cars... how its exit widens as it lifts upwards expanding out

    • @daesyoung
      @daesyoung 3 года назад

      the narrowing exit is either narrows as it exits like a jet or its like how a shroud aftermarket is basically covers the ends of the center to expanding out since like ive heard the air induction runs alongs the walls so hitting that shroud would cause more compressed fast air pausing up and absorbing heat then exits centers with an expanding ramp like a rear diffuser out the hood or ramp it under the hood but provide a vent exit louver design near the hoods meeting the wiper shroud like bmws would be clean and keep the og turbo hood!

    • @daesyoung
      @daesyoung 3 года назад

      the shroud of aftermarket radiators i mean, it looks kinda dumb but it makes sense vs the oem stand off clutch fan drawing from the rad like a shrouded blanket soup mouth opening ... the aftermarket mounts it just offface but sealed but like i send above... the air runs along the duct walls and would have to heatsoak at the stumble against the face after passing thru the exchanger to having to swwirl out by the spal!

    I'm actually in the similar situation as you. I track my rhd fc with stock intercooler and have been suffering with heat soak. I found a used v mount. For the vented hood, rather than buying the "d max scoop", I got myself a NA aluminum hood and will be getting "trackspec" hood vents. Total costs of parts are under 300. Just need to cut up the hood, drill, then rivets the hood vent. However, my build is more for function, form/style for me is secondary

    • @Karma28217
      @Karma28217 3 года назад +1

      Instead of the trackspec vent, look into the Race Louvers vent. It has a wicker built in to promote extraction by creating a low pressure zone. I installed one on my rx7 in order to lower coolant temps since I have a front mount ic. On the highway I was seeing coolant temps around 200-210F before, now it hovers around 180-185f

    • @jmirav
      @jmirav 3 года назад

      @@Karma28217 thanks for the suggestion. I only heard of trackspec vents through a friend that use it on his FB. I checked your suggestion, and its nice that they have specific options for the year and model for the rx7. Probably to accommodate for each model's certain hood curve? But ill look into them more once I have my v mount installed

    • @Karma28217
      @Karma28217 3 года назад

      @@jmirav No problem. The 2 options are in consideration of the turbo II hood scoop. Since I am using a n/a aluminum hood I picked the race type center vent for the n/a model as I wanted a bit of a downforce bump. Measured the radiator and fan then placed the vent in an ideal area to pull heat away.
