the first coin in Dash is actually marked; right above the coin are four yellow squares and a red square, indicating that you’re supposed to hit the final red block after the yellow ones

I like the first coin in Dash. I didn't even notice the glow in the last block, so it felt more like an actual puzzle. My reasoning was that the red blocks drop the big spike thing on you instead of immediately killing you, so if you hit the last one you may be able to barely get by without dying.
thats not how you're meant to find it but ok
if you drop to where the coin seems to be hidden you'll see a submarine type thing in the background right above the coin in the ground. it has 4 yellow cubes and 1 red cube at the end. This shows that you're supposed to hit the yellow cubes and one red one at the end

Fun Fact: Dash’s first coin is like that because in the sneak peek’s layout, the block that originally gave the coin was a safe block instead, so the coin was a callback to the teaser

One thing I absolutely love about 2.2 is the amazing UI changes. Some are really goofy (like the "settings menu tunnel"), while others are a huge improvement. Also geez you're so good at spotting coins!

The squares on top of the coin indicate that you've done 4/5 of something. I think it's a good coin, as it rewards you to observe this detail

I actually really like the first coin in Dash. It's meant to match the music sync, which I think makes it super unique. However, it does kind of make it difficult to find when the practice mode music is playing. However, in normal gameplay, it actually works really well. Now it feels weird to go past that part without getting the coin because you're going against the sync.
22:23 I actually really like this coin. I think the blue glow is very noticeable (i found it on my first playtrough of the level) and to get to the secret wall the player must understand how to use orbs both ways, which is something that was just taught to the player by using the pink orb.
Or maybe I'm reading way to hard into that coin and RobTop just rushed the coin and put no thought into it.

Personally, I think so, it’s absolutely fantastic, but just because it’s amazing doesn’t mean it’s not disappointing that some stuff will have to wait until 2.2.1

One thing about the first coin of Dash I want to mention: I actually figured it out because, due to how the red blocks kill you (by forcing the spike ceiling to go down), the last red block couldn't possibly kill you as you'd get out from under the ceiling before it could kill you. So I felt it was at least somewhat clever as I figured it out through thinking about how the level's hazards work and how something that seemed like it should be a hazard logically wouldn't be after thinking it through.

You CAN push blocks in 2.2, but you have to use invisible/B5 layered collision blocks linked to move triggers on each side.
Makes for some really cool physics puzzles when you add falling and carrying!
