I'm a bit over halfway through the video, but I'm heavily anticipating and eager for his reaction to the "Holy Cross."
7:27:21
*Fun Fact!* There's a fox standing by a well in the overworld that says, "Well, well well! ...sorry."
1:05:00 i laughed so much when he said this
Hey Eric if you're reading these, might be worth adding chat commands so people can read a little explanation about what the game is whenever they first arrive, saves you from repeating it super often and people from leaving if they're immediately confused, just a thought 😁
Usually there are, but I don’t think they appear in the chat display on stream (!whatdidimiss)
he does usually, but most viewers popping in don't bother reading it and still ask anyway
Illiterate heckers 😢
Rest assured he is NOT reading this. Eric is a manipulative creep who prowls the internet.
I JUST started the sequel vod. I'm so happy for you that Eric read this and just about immediately asked his mods to do exactly this because of you haha. Nice!
As someone who’s getting into game dev, it’s amazing to see how much effort the dev put into the game. The art style, character design, and world building of this game is just phenomenal. 🦊
It’s no wonder it took the guy several years. So much great design that just goes right over your head if you’re not paying attention. He makes it seem effortless.
As a proud VOD Frog, I really appreciate how much Eric appreciates us.
Proud to be a vod frog too
🐸
lol I didn't expect you to discover Tunic so soon after Outer Wilds, these kinds of games are very fun to play blind.
On my list I have outer wilds, tunic, subnautica, and hollow knight, in this "discover the world" genre. Any other recs?
@@jonahweiss2124I would recommend Return of the Obra Dinn
@@jonahweiss2124 death's door, it's similar to Tunic.
@@jonahweiss2124 maybe I need to give hollow knight another go.... I love all of those other games, I just tend to get annoyed with metroidvanias because navigating can be confusing
@@jonahweiss2124hollow knight is a similar kinda game but not exactly the same, in OW/Tunic/etc the _only_ thing blocking you from finishing the game is knowledge. Hollow Knight on the other hand has you needing to run around and collect equipment primarily (like unlocking a double jump or something}
HK is a "metroidvania" (named for the two series that founded this genre, Metroid and Castlevania), OW/Tunic are a sub genre sometimes called "metroidbrainias".
The metroidvania sub on Reddit has a massive list of games with these kinds of elements (seriously, their catalogue is insanely expansive and very well organised) and they'll be more than happy to suggest other games to look into! 😁
Let's Fuckin GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
First Outer Wilds, now Tunic, metroidbrainia fans are eating good this month, thank you Mr Crow 💜
Omg "metroidbrainia" is such a good word I love it
@@mibadadaisn't it? I can't take credit unfortunately 😂 but yeah, it's the most common word I've seen used to describe games like this and like OW where the thing you unlock isn't equipment in the game but knowledge _about_ the game! It's a far far too niche genre imo
@@Imperial_Squid a very niche genre and my favorite one
love it
PCrow is the GOAT
oh my god that is a wonderful term
There's Metroid in this?
His refusal to use bombs or his shield is infuriating
omg yeahhh esp when he gets to the quarry and the scavenger boss
I have a theory about 6:46:45
Whenever you destroy a creature in Tunic, they usually drop blue orbs.
When you activate the structure, it drops blue orbs.
That is very sad to think about
Not a theory actually, in the cathedral when you activate the obelisk for the lift, it kills the corrupted fox in the previous room.
@@Echantediamond1 Does it? I thought it's the classic spooky "it was there, i turned around and back, and now it's not there".
@@Echantediamond1 You could be right, but that's definitely a theory, and I have a different one. Activating an obelisk certainly kills the fox that we learned is inside it, but it's never been shown to have a detrimental effect on anything else (as long as the power conduits aren't broken). I think the fox on the cross uses the power surge to break free, and then that same fox faces you at the Quarry. Manual text suggests that this same fox (or Fossil of Self) was extracted from its obelisk by the first Heir (technically not an heir and more likely self-titled The Hero). I'm guessing it's a rather difficult process to get one out without killing it, and nobody ever really wanted to try it again, so it's the only surviving member with any faculty.
Not so fun fact! Whenever you activate one of the pillars with the corrupt foxes inside, you can faintly hear the sound of them screaming :)
I am praying that he comes around and decides to get the real ending. I would argue that not doing that is the same as not beating the game. As someone who has 100% the game it cannot be recommended enough
not only the real ending he hasn't even done the any% ending
@@NinjarioPicmin last night he at least decided to do the golden path. Still didn't get all the treasures tho. Plus he hasnt found all the secrets
Loving that Crow is playing a bunch of games that are great that are highly information based and thus not the best for streaming. 10/10 great content
Has he played any others outside of this and Outer Wilds?
Eric at the Mountain Door at 8:32:18 "No I did it right, I did the Holy Cross right."
Oh you sweet summer child... :)
I do hope you complete the whole game manual though, as Razbuten already said in chat, that part is what made the game _SO_ GOOD.
He did :)
Omg yesssssssss I cannot wait for the back half of the game, it gets wild - people watching this, if you haven't played it and you enjoy Zeldalikes, light Soulslikes, or puzzles/knowledge-based progression (yes that is an "or", there are accessibility options for the combat if challenging combat isn't fun for you) please please try it for yourself
i fucking adore tunic, i’m so glad you were willing to play it and give it the shoutout it deserves :D
Tunic is genuinely incredible and innovative -and was robbed at the game awards by the cat game- absolutely my goty for 2022
Tunic right after Outer Wilds!? Dream come true, my two favorite games.
Huzzah! A man of culture!
absolutely love your play-throughs, you have such a fun, entertaining vibe and i really appreciate you uploading these since as a europe based viewer i cant watch you live. cheers and stay awesome!
I genuinely enjoyed this so much. I loved playing through tunic, and it was great to see another persons perspective in playing it through. I hope we get a second VOD to see you finish the run Σ:3
I was there the whole day and really enjoyed crows first stream of it. Looking forward to the ending next week.
I was looking forward to it, too. Bummer that he decided to abandon the game.
@@12feetup he did not he finished yesterday. Just wait for the vod to upload or go to twitch
this is an incredible game and i'm loving watching eric discover secrets and being so happy about it just like i did on my first run through. it is absolutely killing me though how much he's refusing to use his shield like idk if he just forgot or if it's just bc it's super hard to stream & entertain while gaming but omg he could've saved so much trouble by just using the shield sometimes 😭😭😭
In Swedish Fux is the word thats used for the color of chestnut horses. The word Fux is related to the german word fuchs which means fox.
"Fuchs" is a reasonably common German last name as well (as is "Fox" in English, maybe less common but still plenty of people with that name). Some guy with the last name Fuchs discovered or scientifically catalogued a flower and it was named fuchsia. It now also describes a purplish deep red color (like magenta) in English, but its current pronunciation is "fyoosha" so almost no native English speaker can actually spell it correctly lol
Looking forward to part 2!
this is one of my favourite games of all time, i love living vicariously through other people to experience it for the first time again
Hey Crow, love your content! Keep it up!
7:16:56
"Hi... are you new?" "Where is your home?"
Love Tunic and always appreciate being able to catch up on your vids when I can't catch stream!
Well well well
...sorry :D
"You cannot convince me that candy canes are spicy."
I mean they make all kinds of odd foods so it wouldn't surprise me if there were some crazy ghost pepper candy canes. They have ghost pepper jelly after all.
Preserved Demon's Blood?
I think that this is my favourite playthrough of yours! I can't wait to see more (if you're keen on making more of course.)
always really cool seeing you enjoy new games eric! Tunic’s rad so far 🦊🔥
ERIC! i really enjoyed watching you play and enjoy this game. you have a genuine appreciation for the little satisfying things. and to solve, fight, and navigate all this all while reading chat and interacting is truly impressive.
this is a great game to follow up on outer wilds (or precede it). ^^
im really glad you picked both games up and i am looking forward to you falling in love with this game like you did with outer wilds.
i also hope this is the beautifull start to "pointcrows chill streams". ^^
Also funny how he keeps remembering the "will always attack 2 times" from the tutorial, repeatedly, in every location, except the zone it's actually about.
I started watching your Outer Wilds Vods (started with the DLC then went back and watched the main game 'cause I enjoyed ur steam so much!) and I just want to say how much it means that you took a stand against JK. That was genuinely really cool of you!
First outer wilds now this. I got tunic literally 2 days ago and I love it. You spoil us.
I'm always happy to see a new Let's Play from PointCrow! It's my way to see a lot of games I wouldn't otherwise.
I love ur videos pointcrow ur vids are amazing especially the Zelda ones I love Zelda
Just wanna say tysm for making my life better from these amazing vids and hope u have a great rest of the day ❤❤
YOOOOO tunic is goated can't wait to watch this!!!
I'm now playing tunic and watching you while doing it
TUNIC POGGGGGGG
Will you be doing another run of this game? I love watching your streams and after watching this video, I researched into the game more and fell in love with it. I would be so glad to see you finish this up!
For any wondering, the music is by LIFEFORMED and Janice Kwan
(LifeFormed is aka Terence Lee)
7:56:16 that's literally so creepy. I don't do well with scary things and when I played this I literally wanted to stop playing
I love the frod domain, because it makes me feel like solid snake. So many enemies to get by, or kill quickly, or lead an army of exploding octopi to explode and kill shield frogs.
Plz do more of this
The librarian was so hard that I went out to explore to get better upgrades and more potions. The ones who didn’t vote for the first 3 tries were people that actually played the game 😅
Idk why but I found the librarian super easy but the scavenger boss took me hours of attempts hahaha
@@MagikMKW both took me at least an hour of attempts. However the scavenger boss was easier for me.
I think that librarian is easy if you block but seige is easy if you know to run behind
I was mostly lost progression-wise for a bit, so I found all the magic items and ended up at the quarry with Boss Scavenger as my first challenging fight. Everything after that seemed too easy lol
YOOOOOOOOOOOO THIS IS POGGERS
watching this in parts, I made the mistake of scanning through the track bar when he got to librarian out of curiosity, would have been better to watch and be surprised by eric's eventual success.
love your playthroughs eric. often they force me to finally get round to completing games on my list so I can watch spoiler-free.
Love being a vod frog :)
I remember struggling with the librarian too, he takes quite a lot of patience and I think I ended up just using a bunch of mana fruits to shoot him down haha
Literally perfect crow impression at 1:32:40... really living up to the name.
I thought that it was pretty cool how the fire were kind of like the meditation points in jedi fallen order. I don't know if there are other games with save points like this but Fallen order is the first one I thought of
This game seemed so peaceful at first. The devs really knew how to get you immersed.
good god, it feels like whenever i watch this i go through a cycle
watch video
realize something because of your gameplay
pause video
open tunic
try doing that thing i realized and either making tons of progress or fail trying
unpause video
repeat
Holy crap I didn't expect you to play this game! I hope you enjoy it!
Don't forget to take your time and be patient. Though, you got through Outer Wilds so I'm sure you can do this :)
This is one of those games where you feel a sad nostalgia even when playing for the first time.
this game when i played resonated with me, it was like getting sent back to when i was 6 and since i didnt knew how to speak english at that time i always had to try and figure ou what was what, and what i had to do with just visuals and the few words i knew but i always loved playing and seeing the cool things i could do. although it isnt something native english speaking ppl would feel it felt like i was being represented a lot
Yoooo it’s great to see a big streamer playing this game, i love it so much but way too little people know about it
Crazy cause I literally JUST finished playing outer wilds and Tunic
glad he chose to play this out of all the other suggestions :D
after outer wild glad you found another game that interest me
TUNIC is so perfect ❤️
I'm so jealous, I went the other way and didn't find the sword until after the first boss, made him much harder
Watching these streams and I suddenly feel the urge to do a zero upgrade run lol
Tunic is way too underrated I loved the first time I played it, I would also recommend rainworld
Well Well Well
I’ve taken like 2 days out of my life to watch this. I must say it was worth it!
0:54 HI TWITCH HI!!!!!!! I SEE YOU!!! HELLO!!!
this was a great game
One of my most favorite games! Zelda, dark souls and puzzles and fox all in one!
I would love if you would finish the game properly. 12h is if you are lazy want to get it over with. It's more like 20h or 25h if you want to do it in a satisfying way.
i beat the first boss with a stick... it was painfull
Respect for taking the stance at 2:47:55.
came here after he mentioned that in the Alveus stream
watching him do the entire west garden without picking up the map was crazy
Mods doing gods work with all those spoilers deleted. Gj!!
7:57:46
Reminded me of the abyss in hollow knight...
Very cool game idea
Imagine doing the monastery in the quarry with no health upgrades, that would be hard
I saw you were playing Tunic on the clips channel and I've been looking forward to this VOD ever since!
EDIT: god, it really must've been hard turning down the money from Wizard Game and I really wanted to say that it really means a lot that you did >
9 hours huh? Oh dang it looks like I have all this free time today! I certainly don’t have any work I should be doing!
Oh man I’ve played this game the ending is great
I wish he continues streaming this game until 100%
Without looking up any spoilers, this game was so puzzling.
I hope nobody in his chat let Crow shame them for saying well well well. I much appreciated it.
Does anyone here know the name of the music that plays during the enemy gauntlet in the cathedral?
The Round Table
YESSSSS
3:49:33
nah they done put a halo 3 scarab in the game
Yesyesyesyesyes omg YES!!!
Well well well....
Crow discovers literacy, deforestation , explosives and murdering random innocent bystanders 🎉
One hour in and i love this playthrough. Crow gets some things quickly, exploration is not 100% on level, but its good enough.
Two hours in and progress is steady. He is moving ahead at pleasant pace.
2:31:40 Nice. I have a condition where 2nd try is always worse than 1st, so seeing you defeat boss on 2nd try is impressive to me.
Three hours in and everything is going nice for first playthrough. Though death at 2:57:15 was disappointing. Why rush? Kill the slorms. 2:58:45 Almost again.
3:41:00 Its time to be frustrated. Concentration is lower. I don't know how there is still 5 hours of gameplay. And of course boss is next target. And he got boss on 4th try and 2nd try after he started poll on defeating boss. Insane.
Four hours in and 2 bosses down. Really great progression through the story and main parts of the game. Only thing that frustrates me is rushing over normal enemies. Kill them all.
Five hours in and yes, everything is going as planned.
Nice job persevering against The Librarian. If i ever played this game i think he would be most troublesome for me.
Six hours in and Quarry is next area, that will be DRAINING your life. Or not, scavenger mask is OP.
Stopped for the day at 6:36:00.
I stopped right when you took food to eat. That is iconic.
Great Scavenger boss fight.
Really nice playthrough.
3:54:25 Um, No won, not Yes. That was the 4th attempt.
The garden knight took me half an hour cause I was to stupid to level up he a two shot me and had ridiculous health funnily I didn’t even kill him myself in the last try he did an attack in the upper right corner of the arena and he fell down and died. I was so confused
if pointcrow just remembered he has the shield everything would be 10 times easier
If he likes games with a lot of "Oh that's what you do?? Thats so cool!!" then he'll really like the game Memorrha. There's not really a lot of tutorials and you kind of just have to try every silly idea (which usually work btw), and the ah-ha moments are incredibly rewarding!!! :>
I’ve played through this game twice and watched 6 other people play through it and I never saw that at 4:45:45 😮
Why
won't
you
DODGEEEEE (scavenger boss fight)
bruh it took him like 3 hours to do as much progress as I did in 7 hours. I was more thorough when exploring tho :)
❤
Ayyy we carry
