My lifter in my 2016 5.3 failed around 54000 miles. I was outside the warranty time. It wasn't one of the AFM lifters. I needed an oil pump, cam, push rod and lifters. I was using Mobil one syn truck 0w20. I now use Penzoil Ultra. I changed my oil often.
Just drive it lol who cares the oil isn’t gonna be clean during break in
I know that is why I keep flushing the engine with fresh oil, I have 2 more changes until I hit 5k, than ill start to change it every 4k.
@@Garage28_28 dude you don’t need to change the oil 3 times on the factory oil before 5k! Let it break in the rings and cylinders then change it at 5k
@@Martyvison I know I dont , but if you know what I know and if you care about your motor you would to, I like my truck to perform like a top. wait and see the lab results and you will see the amount of iron in the oil rotating around your engine...... and this will be only 1300 miles on the oil imagine if you didn't change the OEM oil for 7500 miles ......
You should run two quarts of Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer if you want to avoid lifter failure. Best of luck! Beautiful truck!
