- How to make a homemade fire starter entirely from household items. Here’s what you need:
1. Cardboard egg carton
2. Dryer lint
3. Melted wax
That’s it! And these work great for starting an easy campfire.

If you can find pinecones tho, they honestly work even better than that
my "strategy" is to pour gasoline all over the wood, then pour a gasoline line away from the bonfire, light the trail and run
gasoline evaporates, if you wait a minute and more before lighting it, the air will explode into your face.
@@decombatnfl3639 yeah, thats why i do it as quick as possible and run away from it as soon as i light it
same here. works every time, and it makes it way more fun
I don't even build a bonfire anymore, I just stuff a piece of cloth into my gas can and light the thing. Follow me for more
Fool we just do it from the source lighting the gasoline with our hands (Made a tutorial video)
Amazing. Love these little hacks. Thank you!

If no lint, cotton balls work great too.
This is so inventive I like the idea and style nice
If it takes forever to catch on fire, it isn’t a fire starter.
Here’s an even better idea- egg carton, wood shavings/sawdust, an empty can (tomato sauce, beans, peas etc) old wax and a pot.
Fill pot with 2-3 inches of water. Bring to a bare simmer. Place can with wax on pot and slowly melt. Pack shavings/sawdust into egg carton. Pour over wax. Let harden and store in a zipper bag somewhere cool-ish.
They’ll even burn when soaked in water, albeit harder to light
Very simple and easy cool
I've never had very good results with dryer lint. There are too many synthetic fabrics in our wardrobe, in addition to all of the stinky pet hair.
I prefer cotton balls soaked in a 50/50 solution of melted paraffin wax and vaseline, wrapped in a piece of foil, like a chocolate kiss.
Yes I use cotton balls with Vaseline on it and it works great
Or just out the tealight in there and take it out when the fire is done
Love the simplicity of that. Toilet or kitchen paper would be better because those fibres from the tumble dryer would likely consist of both cotton and plastics, unless you only have natural fibres making up your clothing.
Bounty fresh.
Just use straight dryer lint log lol
Bro u put the match in with it, the fire wasnt burning on the lint 😂
Me honestly thanks for the help I’ve been tryna light a fire😂🎉🎉🎉
Have an even better hack.
So backstory: here in South Africa making a wood fire and cooking/bbq in it is part of the culture and a weekly affair. So single use firelighters in a box you can buy at any store but reusable firelighters has become very popular.
To make your own cheap reusable firelighters:
Get some porous stone, like pumice stone that used for foot washing/scraping. Pop them in a liquid tight jar and fill it with kerosene/paraffin.
It burns a lot hotter and longer than lint+wax so you can skip the tinder and directly start packing dry thin pieces of wood. After the fire is out, scrape them out of the ashes and back in the jar to resoak and reuse.
Why not just put the candle under the kindling instead?
you could do that. The fire starter does produce a larger surface area of flame, and it doesn’t get put out by the wind as easily.
Tic tac toe method lol
Quick question, what is the reasoning behind pouring the candle wax?
it lets the lint burn a little longer to give extra time for the kindling to catch flame
@@Exulll ok thank you, that makes sense. 5 months later
Does the fire become bigger from the wood or the wood spread out or what? I never made a fire before and wondering how you were able to make the fire bigger at the end of the video.
Come on baby light my fire
No the poor car 😫😫
nice
This video makes survivalists look stupid.
Smart
Let me try
What's that fluffy stuff you put in the egg carton cup please?
That’s lint that gets collected from a drying machine. Pretty flammable stuff
Wait but the fire for the cand-
Cooking oil is the best
What kind of wood? Sorry so dumb.
Make A Fire New that Good
Yeah, because I carry fucking dryer lint.
Wouldn't it have been easier to just use the f'ing candle
What can I use instead of dryer lint?
cotton balls, toilet paper, or sawdust
@@Exulll thanks a lot
Bro just used the dutch ad background music
May you please tell me what was that liquid you poured into the lint?
Candle wax
@@littlecampfires thank you 🙏
:D
Wood
How to make a fire you need all this stuff and a lighter
😢
Yknow why does every kid like to make fire
is that oil or kerosene?
It’s just candle wax
@@littlecampfires hahah
It kinda doesn’t count because you’re using fire
Some can’t light a fire with a match! And campfire wood most times need to be built up naturally if tire not using flammables
Is a cheating
