Technically you cooouuld just use a rock of the correct size and shape as a wedge plus one as a cutting tool. Making a bare minimum full-caveman sharpened rock is easier than actually FINDING the types of rock that're easy to knap, depending on what sorts of rock are available.
Knives are better because they are practical, you can cut sticks, hunt, cut chunk a of meat, get kindling, self-defense, and of course starting a fire, unlike a match which is just for starting a fire
Taras, that tree with a branch just above your right ear when you're doing your closing comments -- the one with the broad flat leaves -- looks like it cold be a tulip poplar. If it is, you can strip the bark from its fallen branches and work it into something excellent for starting fires, very similar to coconut husk.
Can we take a minute to appreciate Taras's dedication? Consistent videos on both his channels with unique content. We love you Taras! Keep up the amazing work!!

See, now when Cory was on Naked and Afraid, he kept trying to use a bow type thing to start a fire. Although in the area he was taken to, it was traditional for millennia to start fires like this. I wasn't even in the Scouts, and I knew this was a decent option for starting flames. It's hard work, but it can happen in a day!
finally some one makes a video on the old lost art of making fire with two stick, every one is to caught up on a bow and drill for a fire and I know you can do the same thing with a rock and a stick or two rocks thanks
Thanks, I always wondered if the Tom Hanks "castaway" version of fire starting was a real thing. I hadn't seen it in the 3 books I read on survival or any other RUclips videos.
So....this video should have been titled, "How to start a fire with COCONUT HUSK!?!" Well I should just make sure I always keep some of that on hand everywhere I go. Great tip. Thanks.
To check the wood for dryness, you need to apply it to your lipps. It your lipps feel warm, then the wood is quitedry, if it is cool, fhen it is definitely damp and there may problems with getting fire by friction. Pleas exuse my fext, it was Google translator.
In Crazy Russian Hacker's laboratory,he tests gagets and other things. But Luke and Hugo blow it up his gagets to smithereens,it is doom and gloom when things go "boom" in Crazy Russian Hacker's lab!

remeber kids always bring a knife when you go camping, but leave the matches.
I know you're joking, but if I had to choose between a knife and a box of matches in a survival situation, I would take the knife. Anyone else?
I'ma bird you can easily loose matches, and or get them wet/destroyed

Cody Greenly okay.
You want to have a soft wood like pine for the base. And for the other stick you want hard wood like hickory.
You made that look so easy! Good job!
I really want him to yell, "Look what I have created! I... have made fire!"
I would like to see CRH on some Survival Show where he survives alone on an *island*.
I bet he wouldn't last one day
Adil Kothari you wouldn't last 5 mins

This video is about Starting Fire with Sticks.... prepared by a machete and with a helping hand of coconut husk.

👍👍 You are Awesome in the things you teach us ! Thanks ! You are the Greatest !
Taras, you should do some usb gadgets i think people would like those. anyway thanks for the video and have a nice evening
The video was never sped up, he is just that quick.
On the film Castaway the bloke does the same thing but he has a split in the end of the bottm stick, that makes lighting a LOT EASIER.
So....this video should have been titled, "How to start a fire with COCONUT HUSK!?!" Well I should just make sure I always keep some of that on hand everywhere I go. Great tip. Thanks.
I like the simplicity of this method

God bless this soviet scientist finding ways to make fire for his comrades during the battle of Stalingrad
The fire hasn't started yet......BOOM!
How about using your shoelace as a string & making a bow to loop around a stick and twirl it into another?
Really cool but In a survival situation that would be far to inefficient I wonder if the traditional way spinning the stick uses more or less energy
The stick is even inefficient. U have to do as much with power and accuracy
I forgot about this legend
Your the man if you can start a fire like this!
It's hard work for sure!
