I am so grateful for any support you choose to give, financial or emotional! 🙏 In this episode of Learn Quick, I learn to make fire by friction. That is by rubbing sticks together. I try the fire plough, hand drill and fire bow techniques.

I can't believe how invested I was in this - I was that tense in watching you blowing oxygen into the birds nest at the end I actually stopped breathing. I gotta say, making a fire without a match or lighter is one of the most rewarding experiences ever. Going back to mans primal state, without fire we would die. Modern technologies have caused us to lose our ability to survive the wild. So getting to do this fills a hole most dont know they have.
We are all lazy in this modern society

Learn to play the balisong/butterfly and try some cool tricks with it.
Goal: Helix Rollovers ?
goal: murnax ladder?
Jake Hu Yes! There are too many cool tricks you can learn
Im going on a limb here but its probably illegal...like in UK, Germany and many other EU countries. Germany has this stupid ban since 2008...i remember being a kid i could buy a butterfly and i had one...stupid silly laws.
Not silly if you think about it. A balisong has no use other than looking cool and harming people, it's a shit knife for actually cutting things. It's like those fully automated blades that used to be in old gangster movies, not really good for cutting, just useful for stabbing and intimidation.
I’ve seen guys find gold and not be as excited! Bravo!!!!
you can make a video where you learn archery
thats what you think,
I do archery for over a year now and it's still really hard
Nolan Lafrance

Archery isn't that hard to pick up though man, it isn't.
To get güd, obviously a different story.
That's right, archery is incredibly easy, I think breathing is actually harder, honestly...

Was just about to mention how careful you have to be with fires in nature, thanks for adding the heads up Mike! It's so dry and warm in A LOT of countries at the moment and a lot of wildfires and forest fires going on, even a small thing as a cigarette butt can start a fire in places where it's very dry.
In most of Sweden it's forbidden at the moment to even start up a campfire (or using fire somehow in general), let alone trying to learn how to start a fire. Be careful people!
Spitnuk probably wasn’t the best time of year to release this video. You just need a few kids trying to emulate this and something could get out of hand. Fun vid though.
Same in Denmark, cant even buy the disposable grills at the store and all the grass has gone to hay
I probably should have looked before I commented almost exactly this myself. Am also in sweden and was alarmed until the thing about safety.
I always feel relieved when I see precautions in tutorials I think they are essential.

I've watched dozens and dozens of videos of people starting fires using primitive methods, and this is my favorite! I really enjoyed watching your persistance, and how you progressed in your knowledge and understanding, learning what got results and what didn't. The bow drill is definitely a superior technique, and the one I use. I almost never subscribe, but I like what you're doing, and found it entertaining. Great job, and keep up the good work!

Warm and dry, IN SCOTLAND? I don’t believe it
Pretty much all of Europe is in a heatwave right now. It's been like that most of the summer so far.
René Albrechtsen when I visited family in Poland it was mostly rainy, but the day I left it started to heat up
René Albrechtsen seems like every summer. I live in Slovakia and it's hot. As always. Summers are getting gradually warmer each year.
edit: UK should have an extremely hot day tomorrow (35+C), but after that it should cool off
35+ is extremely hot? It's either a downpour or it averages 38 here...
Cool story mate, go hide in your ACd building, we have no AC here. I would take 40C any fucking day if I had AC.

I live in Australia 🇦🇺 and there was a huge bushfire in smacbam in the middle of winter
Either it's too windy or you need Wilson.
The greatest part about this is that you can take all of this with you, and lug it around so you have a reliable way of starting fires again and again. BUT there are ways to make it even better!
If you get a longer and thicker stick, and instead push it down with your shoulder, you get much more friction. Then, it will create so much heat that even if you get it wet in the rain, you can get an ember.
Learn to purify water
you mean just boil it? or as in turn salt water into freshwater?
Ashencloud i really dont know, prolly like a filter that goes thru stages idk. Lemme rephrase the question, learn to get pure water from a lake of body of water of some sorts
well that's simple you just put it through a coffee filter then boil it, no learning needed
Ashencloud i mean ur right
Try to learn an American accent. I'm trying to learn your accent at the moment.
The Mad Hatter that would take 2 seconds, American accents are the least complicated out of all.
FrankButcher Jr Are you American?
The Mad Hatter I’m Canadian so I have a similar accent and that’s what’s I have heard as well. American accents are easier for British and Scottish people the do than Scottish and British is for Americans. Would still be very interesting to see though!!
The Mad Hatter I’m British
FrankButcher Jr Since you're Canadian I assume you can do the Midwestern dialect?
The ambient temperature plays a huge role.
"Do you think i am going to SURVIVE?"
😂kthaha
Only 10,000 bc kids will remember the days with no fire
One of the most profound moments in human history, essentially the step from primitive to progressive. I often wonder how they came up with the concept. Did they see a forest fire and witness wood burning, then somehow relate friction to heat. Whatever way they did it, considering how much effort is needed to create fire, they must have been absolutely certain, that it was possible when they began.
i did the exact same thing before even watching :
i tried both ways of making a fire and after 20 minutes of hard work i got a tiny little smoke and i gave up ,then i had an idea" what would happen if i use a drill with a stick " but i said that it will be a headache to do and i watched your video and you actually used the drill :)))))
I love how excited. You got when you finally did it

What you did is called a Widowmaker. As a logger in Louisiana, USA, I was almost killed by a much larger example of this. I think that was actually quite a fast learning curve. Try the fire roll though - is is easier in my opinion but you do need to find the right ingredients for the inside - like ash from an old fire, or rust from some oxidised iron perhaps
