    He's one of the best singers nowadays. Love his low notes, freaking awesome! Thanks for this great video =D

    I know that you only pick your fave vocalist but please do one with Justin Bieber, he's not the best but I've always been curious about his live vocal range, He's very limited nowadays but would be helpful If you try and make a compilation of live performances for him. Btw, Ed Sheeran is the man!!

    Lyric tenor yet his lower register seems to be his strength
    Anything above G4 in chest sounds so strained and the F2 sounded so effortless

    Hey, Josef. Where is that Bb5 from? I also found an Eb2 by Ed, check TRP if you need anything!

    He definitely seems like a gray area between a high baritone and lower tenor. Haven't made up my mind, honestly, about his vocal fach.

    Light Lyric Tenor ruclips.net/video/c9Uts-1VIY4/видео.html

    Sheeran is clearly not a full lyric. He bridges from B3 to F4. His youthful tone is pretty artificial, aswell.
    Seriously, with that type of weight in his lower chest register it's a no brainer. I'd call him a baritenor, dramatic tenor if you wanna' be nice.
    You had some great picks for the pitches though, excepting for a few.

      any tenor can develop the lower register, but that doesn't make him a baritone. He's not very good with belting, and therefore can't sing high enough. About transitions I will say that he is singing chest voice to D4. With Eb4 he starts belting or mixed, not with B3

      Josef Stamm Did not say he was a baritone. His register slides to the first passagio in B3, F#4 is fully into his head dominant range. Very easy to identify the resonance shifting in his passagios, specially with the clips you provided.
      He is by no means a full lyric tenor.

      Bryce Flint his area of passages D4-G4, this is consistent spinto tenor or a strong lyric. He is clearly not spinto tenor, because his voice is too light and weak for that. If he was a dramatic tenor, the area of the passages he would be C#4-F#4, but it's not. By the way he is taller than Zane, who is spinto tenor

      Josef Stamm That's simply untrue. Sheeran posesses a more dense voice than Zayn, his placement is also lower. You're confusing natural vocal propieties with stylistic shenanigans.
      If you disagree, chances are you're not hearing properly and should probably stay away from "voice types"

    • @josefstamm8344
      @josefstamm8344  8 лет назад

      Bryce Flint the voice is affected by the length of ligaments, the density and width of the ligaments of the larynx. The length of the ligament determines the area of the passages. True voice-type in humans is determined by the area of the passage. The density of the bales and the width can greatly affect the sound of your voice. That can deceive the person. For example Kurt Cobain baritenor, but because of his physique ligament is thinner and the throat is already making sounds it almost a dramatic tenor. But it's not. He baritenor. In the case of Sheeran all the way around. The thickness of the larynx and the density of vocal cords change characteristic type but not the type itself.
