Seven minutes in and chuckling wisely already. Had to pause. This is gold already. Your efforts are shining and the “Practice” is being expounded in a way singular to you yet breathed by us all. Okay, hitting play and on with the rest of the video. Don’t f- up…🤣
Yup. Gold. Forgot I was breathing, remembered to breathe, random ads expressing dukkha,, and crystal clear dharma. That was awesome Jack. Thankyouverymuch
Thanks ,the talk and the forest wonderful. I am reading your last book and I am very impressed, it has moved me! Such deep and difficult topics, and always your sense of humor in conjunction with suffering , confusion and love …thank you ❤
God bless the basket-ball dribbling elves at the edge of the universe, God bless the water turned to wine, and God bless the infinite space of nothingness and emptiness found "between" the endless expanding and contracting inhalation and exhalation of breathing! In other words, simply God bless "Anapanasati Zazen..." and God bless you my friend!
To a lesser degree than when I started this Zen path 8 years ago, I try not to get wrapped up in any experience like Kensho while I sit. I sit, I breathe, I come back to the breath if I go off on a thought tangent, but there is still this part in me - off the cushion - that wants a kensho experience so I can confirm for myself these things are real. I will probably need to go to a retreat which I haven't be able to do because there is no close availability for me to really give it my best shot. You get into the thought of all these other people have had this why can't I and then that just leads to all kind of negative thinking about yourself and your practice, and the path you've chosen. Any thoughts or help?
I thought about your question for a long time. I feel what you're saying here, I've variously been a kensho/satori chaser myself. Maybe it's just part of the journey, to pursue the Big E. It's a motivator. But a lot of life goes by when one does that. To misquote John Lennon Zen practice is what happens when you're busy chasing...kensho.
Let it be, just as it is.
Dude you are so funny, you’re sense of like skimming the line of truth with a humorous character is on point
Thank you!
Shout, shout let it all out
These are the things I’m talking about!
wonderful
Many thanks dear friend.
