She now has a long road to recovery … she only 48 years old… we know God has her in his hands and is truly blessing her day by day. We have 2 sons and she is our youngest son’s wife … we tease her all the time that she’s our daughter!!! They have 3 very handsome son’s, who are all out on their own now. I've got about 50 chickens, 13 ducks, goats, a pig, and an old horse as well as 3 outside LGDS. Keeping water is a bit of a chore but not like in snowmagedon a few years back. I've got a tank heater now for the big stock tank and keep the generator and water tubs in the well house with a chicken light. I go out 3 times a day to make sure everyone has clear water and just see how they are. It's rough but doable. I also made sure there was hay indoors for all so they didnt need to go out in the wind. My Pyrenees thinks this is HEAVEN. Me not so much but it is what it is.

We got down to -38 a couple nights up here in Montana. I was really worried about my chickens !! I brought my 2 roosters & 3 rabbits inside my room I use for plants. The roosters have big combs that have started to get frost bite. We are starting to get back in single digits at night and 20s for highs. Yep have to water 2 or 3 times a day to keep out the ice. Your a good animal dad Chad ! Crazy weather 😮😮 God bless !!

You never know what can come up on a farm, like a cow getting their heads caught, a cow having a calf and needing help, but that is the same with all mammal animals. I feel for you guys, I live in the panhandle of Florida and my car door was frozen shut today when I went out at 11:30am. We are supposed to be going down to 17 degrees (don’t know what the windchill will be). I know you’re doing the best you can to keep your animals safe, but don’t forget to keep yourself safe on the roads.

that dont work..its just tooo cold where I'm at 40 below zero..I had my water on in all faucets and line still froze..parents well pump froze as well and we had no way to get water to horses donkey and cattle for 30 hours..they got water now bur I'm still froze..
It is said that if you put very hot water in a bottle and put it in the water tank it won't freeze as fast. BUT how will you get really hot water to the farm?
It works, but you need a couple of large jugs, and the water has to be so salty that it almost won't desolve anymore. It will keep my 8' round tank from freezing solid unless the temp drops into low double digits or colder.

It’s bitter cold here in PA also. You can tell it’s bitter cold at your place and the snow squeaks under foot. Hurts my dog’s pads on her feet walking outside. She will not wear boots. I feel so bad for her.
Lived in SW Arkansas for 7 years. Luckily, never had frozen pipes. But I do remember burning boxes outside and caught the yard on fire. Scared me to death. That's when I learned about "controlled burns." Don't have those up in Ohio where I'm from and moved back to. Any hoo... the grass came back very green! Stay warm

I'm blessed everyday have 4 kids and 11 grandkids I don't hv a car I don't hv enough food but I don't worry about that I just trying to get my 16 old a bed but I work so hopefully I get one soon for him so I live day by day and I thank God I hv all I need day by day

We got hit hard. After losing the window during the hail storm Thursday, the temps dropped so fast. We barely had time to cover the window with plastic once all the rain stopped. Already over the cold. Hoping to get the window fixed soon.

We lost our water here too in Stone County Arkansas. Apparently National Guard bringing in a new water pump and we can expect water to be normal in 2 weeks. Just no eta on when water will be flowing out to the farms near where I live.
You boil water to wash up with or into bathtub for a bath. Boil water to wash dishes. Boil water to mix in with laundry water for a warm wash. Been there. "This too shall pass." Continued prayers.

I’m sure that lil baby alpaca is gonna grow up and be the tallest of them ALL anyday! 😁 So glad the freezing part is almost done! I’ve been boiling a kettle and taking it out to break up waterers constantly(it refreezes so fast) tried salt water bottles and they failed. Our running water has been frozen for days, hubby swears it’s NOT because the backfilling was never finished, that it’s totally unrelated. But he’s itching for his shower so much he finally turned on the central heat after years. His theory is that it will thaw the attic where we ran our new “pipes” above. I’m just happy the house is comfortable without wearing 2 layers of clothes. I never really trust these space heaters, but gotta use them too. We were blessed last night cuz the other side of the street lost power, I don’t think we would have been able to make it without losing some animals if it was on our side. Stay warm yall!
Hello from Northwest Oklahoma, where our Temps have been soon low! We are day three without cold water and only one hot water faucet dribbling. So, no shower for us either, lol. I hope the Temps go up here like they are supposed to. Our gas bill is going to be high! God bless.

Rae, have Case put hot/warm water in a 5 gallon bucket in the back of the tub, then use a usb camping shower head. Works great for a shower and shampoo.
Hi family, Chad our pipes also froze but I try to keep about 50 gallons filled,in one of the sheds, and when that happens, we do what Case did. Boil huge pots of water, pour them in a bucket, and that's how everyone showers. They usually stay like that for three days. You're brave with that cold and wind, and I don't see you wearing winter boots. My toes are always freezing when it's that cold. Rae you look cold too, but super comfortable. It's a great soup kind of day. Stay warm and God bless.
I feel ya Rae! Our hot water went out too, thankfully we only had reset the tank and have hot water again. Last year during our freeze our shower drain froze and ran all over the floor, that was a mess!! God Bless & stay warm 🙏🏻

I drew up water and shut my house down Sunday night just so I wouldn't need to steal with the risk of frozen busted pipes. I'm hoping to get it back on tomorrow since it'll warm up to 40. I put 2 half barrel tubs in my well house with a chicken light and it's kept it thawed for the north side animals. South side I have a tank heater so I just bucket some out 3 times a day for birds and dogs

We always add insulation into the valve box every winter. And cover the top with straw.

Hello from Northwest Oklahoma, where our Temps have been soon low! We are day three without cold water and only one hot water faucet dribbling. So, no shower for us either, lol. I hope the Temps go up here like they are supposed to. Our gas bill is going to be high! God bless.

Rae, have Case put hot/warm water in a 5 gallon bucket in the back of the tub, then use a usb camping shower head. Works great for a shower and shampoo.
Pump water from the pond to the she shed. Where you have a electric source .
Hi family, Chad our pipes also froze but I try to keep about 50 gallons filled,in one of the sheds, and when that happens, we do what Case did. Boil huge pots of water, pour them in a bucket, and that's how everyone showers. They usually stay like that for three days. You're brave with that cold and wind, and I don't see you wearing winter boots. My toes are always freezing when it's that cold. Rae you look cold too, but super comfortable. It's a great soup kind of day. Stay warm and God bless.

I feel ya Rae! Our hot water went out too, thankfully we only had reset the tank and have hot water again. Last year during our freeze our shower drain froze and ran all over the floor, that was a mess!! God Bless & stay warm 🙏🏻

I drew up water and shut my house down Sunday night just so I wouldn't need to steal with the risk of frozen busted pipes. I'm hoping to get it back on tomorrow since it'll warm up to 40.
I put 2 half barrel tubs in my well house with a chicken light and it's kept it thawed for the north side animals.
South side I have a tank heater so I just bucket some out 3 times a day for birds and dogs
