Excellent video. Very informative. I’m in the process of selecting a side saddle for my 590 and I’m leaning toward this one. Any issues with it coming loose from the firearm? Would you still recommend? Thanks again.
No issues with it coming loose and I actually just bought another one for another shotgun lol so yes I would still recommend, thanks for watching!
It really upsets the hell outta me when people say that a shotgun is not a 1st choice to grab for home defense. Stop being a damn AR snob
Especially at home. I think it’s the number one choice. No matter what shell you have in it. From #7 bird to 1oz slug. At 10yards (bout max distance in any home) these are devastating weapons
I think the hard mount side saddles are vastly underrated. Don’t get the obsession with sticking Velcro to the receiver - which will eventually peel off if you shoot your shotguns enough. Sure it’s more economical and sure you can slap on a new card when the one on the gun is empty - but you still have to load from the card into the tube. Seems much faster and more logical to use 3 gun shell caddies so that you can twin or quad load. And if your in a situation where you need 100 shells (that you have to load at best 4 at a time under stress) on a bunch of cards in a chest rig made for M4 mags - you should’ve grabbed the M4.
Do you know if this would fit the mossberg 590 shockwave 12ga?
Aridus Industries and Toni Systems make way better ones than Mesa.
Great review, very informative and succinct, except for the beginning. Thank you.
Thanks for watching! Glad you found it helpful 👌🏻
what about replacing the rubber inserts if needed? Also, its best to reload from a pouch or deep pocket of lose shells and use the ones on the saddle for emergency breach loading/combat loading single shells into the chamber.
edit: you mentioned the dump pack at the end.
You can absolutely replace the rubber inserts it’s not to difficult at all, and yes the pouch idea would probably be ideal.

I assume they are sold on the site, then. Also reload the saddle after topping off, assuming there's time. The key is to never run dry and grippy gloves that are snug and high dexterity.
You have any issues with the back pin coming loose? I want one of these but I'm not a fan of the 2 piece screw pin deal.
I personally have not, the blue lock tight seems to hold. However I could definitely see it happening.
@@FirearmFreedom my 1911 loaded had a 2 piece full length guide rod. Who thought that was a good idea I have no clue. It always came loose. Absolutely made no sense, didn't make disassembly easier either. Fact it was even more annoying.
Ended up getting a solid one for a couple bucks more. But yeah I hate 2 piece anything on a gun now lol. But you running it on both so it can't be that annoying uh? I'll grab one see how it goes.
@@jessekaiman5182 ya it hasn’t given me an issue yet so I don’t really mind it but I’m right there with you it normally sucks lol
How is your TL racker holding up? How many rounds do you have with it on there?
Still holding up great but there are definitely some present downsides like NDing the light frequently
Those people who said that it’s easy to load have not been in a stressful situation . Even in a regular hand gun fight no matter how good you are, may you be in a 90 percentile that percentage drops to 50-40 percentile due to stressful conditions/situations!!
It is most definitely difficult!
Thats a very concise and accurate way to put it. Its like that saying you have to expect fuck ups in high stress situations no matter how good or well trained you think you are.
Thanks for all the info! Btw what kind of trigger is that on you a1 l (the gold one)
It actually was just the stock triggers that came with that model 👌🏻
Additional tubes are probably for 20 gauge
Very good point!
Awesome video. Looking to put this on a 590 a1. Still very happy with it? Thanks
So the additional retention tubes they include give you a tighter fit?
Yes but I didn’t feel that it was necessary at all
What about Winchester SxP?
I am actually not sure if they make one for that shotgun
First
Thanks man!
First!!!
Thanks for watching
Talk too danm much get to the point.
And quit begging before hand

@@FirearmFreedom is it a 590
@@Coicker12 well the light that is part of the pump is a 590 mariner and a TL Racker

Ive been swearing by the Esstac cards but its good to see someone sharing some more of their real world experiences with them. I like to see objective truth and results and i appreciate you sharing them with us. Reminds me to never be too sure of anything and encourages me to get out and run it more to get more actual experience with whatever i use. Its humbling in a sense. I hope i wont have the same issues but i need to put it through the grinder more instead of just letting my sg sit up in the corner collecting dust. Just wish ammo wasn't so expensive and inflation wasnt so crazy. Thanks again brotha!
Thank you so much for your comment man I appreciate the feedback and you got that right hopefully someday the ammo will finally get cheap lol
Waste of money 💰
