the absolutely killer feature of this luggage is that you can transport it in metal luggage without any problems... amazing!!! :-) Thanks for sharing bro!
Masons ADV yes, a few Thailand tour vids nothing Fancy... but for the moment I dealing around with a switch of my editing software from primere to resolve... this could take a while... :-)
Great video my friend, Nicely done, I appreciate you taking the time to show us how you have this luggage mounted on your bikes. Love it. I need to order me some of the large mole pouches still, I want the 3 large ones. for my set up. Time and money, I have more time than money hehehe. Thanks and have a blessed week my friend,
+Heartland Dual Sport haha yes same here and the opposite in the summer. Finding a balance is tricky :) the molle bags work well and I am running 3 large too. Thanks Dale! Cheers man.
Dammit Mason! I was already saving for the duffle and now I have to find a cosigner. Brilliant solution on using them without racks! You'll have to let us know how that works out. I'm guessing just fine.
Great video! For those short trips or commuting, do the bags cinch down well to hold smaller loads? maybe without the dry bags? I'm looking to do some weekend camping trips and the Reckless 40l seems slightly too small.
Helloooo up there :D Thanks man, yeah, good looking stuff. The Wolfman gear is serious too. Old Masons runs it on his bike and really likes it. Cheers man and thanks for watching :)
I had some fun breaking in the new KLR today, now i'm back home watching videos again !! I was looking at the Mosko Moto site, in search of a tank bag for starters. I'd like to ask your opinion on mail order accessories here in Canada. What sites have you found to be good for online ordering ?
Fun stuff! My Mosko Moto Nomad has just arrived :) Can't wait to try it out. For Canadian sites i use Fort Nine, Dual Sport plus, Twisted throttle, and Royal Distributing with great results. No problems with any of those sites ever. I'm sure there are others but I have the most experience with these guys. Hope that helps. Cheers!
Thanks Elwood, I think it stands a chance of standing up to the abuse it's about to take :D Man the snow... we just had a week above freezing and most of it went away but now we are back down to -10 again so I have no idea lol.
Mason, would shortening the turn signal stalks allow the system to ride further back, giving a passenger full use of the seat? I'd like to use soft luggage on the KLR but every system either rides a bit too far forward or has buckles that ride on top of the seat which won't work for me. The dealer threw in a set of used KLR saddlebags and a tail bag so I ordered a set of the racks to hold the gear away from the bike for the time being. On a funny note, I'm throwing my Wolfman tail bag into the KLR tail bag for quick on & off at work. I'm not so worried about the thieves making off with the beat up used bag so its a temporary fix.
Sounds like a great work around :) the R80 can be moved way back without shortening the turn signals. It holds its shape and hardly touches them. I keep it ahead to keep the weight forward.
Masons ADV Thanks for the information, I appreciate it. So many things on the KLR are black and white to me but the luggage and trying to plan for a passenger are the areas that keep me spinning. In the end, that was a huge factor in choosing the KLR over the 701. ( Along with price, longevity, and simplicity. If I’m being honest.)
If I had the racks already I would totally have done that too :D My first setup wasn't too far off. That's the beauty of the KLR isn't it? You can get away with anything :)
Hi, thanks for the vid. I'm considering the same set up for my 09 KLR. Any updates or further thoughts on the gear? It appears to fit the bike well, and is about the biggest I would want to go without a luggage rack. In my experience, the key when running soft luggage without a rack is ensuring it has a tight fit and does not flop around. If the luggage has any excessive movement.. that will quickly lead to excessive wear.
+rahgahnah im very happy with the reckless 80 and it doesnt seem to move much at all on the bike. I hope to do an in-depth review later this summer when i have more miles on the system but i can tell you that i love it :)
This is my favourite luggage and giant loop 2nd. But they look really wide and u have a big bike. Whats your opinion if i set them up on a wr250r. If u dont mind me asking. Thanks
No I don't mind at all, there are some great pictures online of the R80 on WR250's that may give you an idea. They also do the R40 but personally I would rather have the space and not use it than not have enough room.
Yes it does. The spacing is the key. I mounted it too the main muffler mount on the top and the drain plugs on the bottom. Actually quite simple. The air gap is all that's needed to stop anything melting.
Yes,it is interesting that it is not seen on any of their instructional videos for v.2 or product review vids.... at first I actually thought they mistakenly sent me the bag. I'm sure it will come in handy for a variety of thing. See you out there....
Haha, I have no one to tell, Ron :) I'm just a customer like you! Unless you are referring to your significant other, I didn't tell Missus Mason at first either. Hahaha. Great gear though.

+Chris Enduro ADV (Enduro ADV) hehe yeah for sure. Let me know how that goes. Ive heard good things about that program. Good luck man!

Wow, Thanks James! It's always great to get some feed back on the channel :) Cheers man!

Super nice luggage. Especially if you don't have to spring for $300 racks.
Yes! That's one great thing about it. Also nice that you don't have to look at the racks when you,re not using the luggage :)
super nice luggage set up!!!
Yeah, great gear :) Cant wait to pack it up and hit the trail! Cheers!
I have the new klr adventure and going to go to Athens ga from Elizabeth NJ wish me luck

+towee70 Anytime :)
Very nice setup. Need to start saving my pennies. How long before the snow melts in the great white north?
Thanks Elwood, I think it stands a chance of standing up to the abuse it's about to take :D Man the snow... we just had a week above freezing and most of it went away but now we are back down to -10 again so I have no idea lol.
Great videos,do you need pannier rack to mount? Thanks muddie
No you don't. I put grip tape where it sits against the plastic.

That looks a lot better than my dry bags strapped to the side of my bike haha

Whatever works is what I'm rollin with haha at least until I get the rest of the gear I want
For sure. 1 piece at a time :) Cheers

Good looking luggage, too bad it's going to get dirty. Ready for a little camping?
+Old Mason mhmm. This is one of the last times it will be seen clean :) I sure am ready. Did you dig out your camping gear?

Well back down to -10 C/14 F here again so we're still stuck in the garage...
Very well done. stay safe
+Tankerman thanks Tank. You too!
What tires are you running on? Nice vids BTW
Hey Rob, Continental TKC 80's. Thanks for watching :)
What heat shield do you have on the muffler at the rear?
That's one I made from perforated stainless steel, Derick. Cheers.
Thank you looks good may try one myself . Does it protect the bags well ? Any insight welcome !!!
Yes it does. The spacing is the key. I mounted it too the main muffler mount on the top and the drain plugs on the bottom. Actually quite simple. The air gap is all that's needed to stop anything melting.
@@masonsadv the mounting is a great idea wish I had thought of that !!!
Hey bro, where did you pack the 20L light blue bag?
+Adam Efrat i just have it in with my clothes in the right side bag and im going to use it for my dirty clothes. Keep them seperate from the clean.
Thanks, That's exactly what i was going to use it for,... as a laundry bag too.
+Adam Efrat also handy around camp as a wash bag to do laundry or haul wash water. ;)
Yes,it is interesting that it is not seen on any of their instructional videos for v.2 or product review vids.... at first I actually thought they mistakenly sent me the bag. I'm sure it will come in handy for a variety of thing. See you out there....
+Adam Efrat awesome! Ride safe man :)
Awesome setup! By the way, where did you get a sheet of that grip pad material?
Thanks, Ron! That is the TechSpec Gripster in a 12" x 13" sheet and I cut it to fit. Ordered through Twisted Throttle.ca
Right on! Thanks. By the way, don't mention it, but the Reckless is the system I am about 98% certain on purchasing!
Haha, I have no one to tell, Ron :) I'm just a customer like you! Unless you are referring to your significant other, I didn't tell Missus Mason at first either. Hahaha. Great gear though.
Lookn' good :
Thanks Gary:)
