He do that once you take like 4-5 sips so make sure you spam dodge once you see him swing the staff up and down and dance around just like this video. This makes the fight bearable for me.

Which brings up the question of whether the Stone Monkey is walling out the positive or negative aspects of Water. And the Destined One is to break that wall.

@@Thailandsmostwanted It doesn't make sense for the game to be part of a trilogy if the first game has multiple endings. You'll have to either choose one ending as canon or reconsider making it a trilogy

So we basically become the new Sun Wukong. (On the one hand meaning that Wukongs immortality remains, even if it's in the form of just his legacy living on), and then..... what? For me the stone monkey cutscene completely bugged out, as soon as i beat it, the cutscene slowed down to like 0.25x speed slowmo, and the sounds carried on until the cutscene end, from there it was just them fighting in silent slowmo for like 10 minutes, i got bored so i hit altf4, and it restarted the whole fight xd so i have to fight Stone monkey again :/

haven't play the game but i don't think that is the case, since from the beginning it wasn't about great evil about to crush worlds, it's a story about restoring/awakening a legend, and defeating great sage's shell is just the process of it.

After beating Erlang he was surprisingly easy. I beat the first half of the boss in one try, and it took me like 3-4 tries with the final phase.
Tip for antone, you can dodge him taking your flask if you roll immediately after drinking
Fun fact in order to get the true ending you need to be Wukong’s irl successor and ascend to buddhahood only then can you get the true ending.
