So this is a review of an EZ detangler cheap knock off brush? I am in the UK and would actually like to know if the genuine article is worth the money.
The Curly Closet THANK YOU for this video. I ordered a Bestool version off Amazon (received today) after still waiting 3 weeks+ for the EZ Detangler that shipped from China.
caerfaimama It's the exact same brush, one is branded, the other is not. Choose as you like but if I were you, I'd go for the cheaper one. Sorry for the late reply, only just saw your comment.
Im glad I came across your video. I kept getting skeptical about how they say its a black owned company... but their site has nothing that talks about the owners. I even tried to look for more info on the internet no result. So they're making money off black people by using that sentence. I dont like that
Yea when they talk about the owners and show a picture I'm not as skeptical. Like i love that curlmix owner has a youtube channel and show us that she uses her own products
I always do my research. Smh. I found one on the curl stop, I know shes black owned, so I'll stick with ms.leatherwood, or the curl stop. But the EZ just looked sus
I have a friend who has a website for Black businesses. Their due diligence takes up a lot of time because they found companies that use Black people as 'fronts' but are not truly Black owned. I will not buy Black hair care products from companies that are not Black owned. Period.
This is honestly one of the only brushes I use now. It works amazing on my hair (I have type 4b). And yeah i agree with her, go horizontally for the lower parts of your hair vertically for the roots. It works wonders for me. I detangle wet with product for the most part. It's a little more difficult to do it completely dry but it works too.
😩..i purchased the ez detangler brush. It was shipped from China. It took almost 3 weeks to be delivered. It works but i definitely would have purchased the felicia leatherwood brush instead of this one.
Yep, the delivery time is terrible and they aren't honest about that upfront. They keep giving me the run around and it's been almost 3 weeks. Very sketch company. DO NOT ORDER THIS BRUSH. get the Felicia Leatherwood.
I actually made a comment twice about the advert of the ez brush that it contained footage, pictures and other youtubers using the felicia leatherwood brush instead of what they are promoting, I didn’t think it was fair, very misleading. My comment got deleted twice 🙄It came up on Facebook ages ago, haven’t seen it since. I’m not knocking the brush at all just the advertisement at the time. Would love to see a comparison though.
I used it on my daughter's hair for the 1st time today. She has very thick hair and is tender headed. After a few (sideway) strokes, her hair detangled like never before. I love it, glad I bought two.
Omg I was one of the people whose video clip they stole to use to falsely advertise their product! I was using the Felicia Leatherwood Brush in my video!
I love that easy detangler brush!!!!!! I got mine from Amazon. It just melts through my hair. I am really really surprised and I love it!!!! I got three brushes for nine dollars on Amazon. I keep one at my house one at my fiancé’s house and one in my shower from when I’m detangling my hair and i get minimum hair in the brush…. I didn’t think it would be worth it trying to detangle my hair with that flexible brush that the bristles weren’t stiff but the bristles being flexible just glides through my hair. I have 3C hair and I am loving this Brush!!!!❤
Ok so this review and the comments have confirmed for me that this company is suspect AF. I purchased a brush months ago and haven’t received it or any updates and they are clearly lying about being black owned which is another level of disrespectful...
I saw this brush in Walmart and passed on it because it looked too flimsy for my hair and I got a sturdy detangling comb instead. My hair's texture is similar to yours so I'm going to try this now. Thanks for reviewing!
I loved the review. I have the same brush and I use without the clip because it is easier. I got mine from eBay for £4.00. It is the best I have ever used.
New subbie ! I’m so sad I didn’t catch this video before I ordered. It took about two months to arrive and it’s definitely not black owned. Burns me up that this company is falsely claiming that because it understands our loyalty to each other. Never again!
whoaaaa you just helped me out!! I was considering buying from Curltastic bc it says 'black owned' in their instagram bio but there's nothing about the owner on the website. Thanks! If anything you helped me 😅
I brought this brush and didn't like it much, it detangled but nothing amazing. THEN I saw your video. Thanks for providing the method. Im going to try it again!
The felicia brush is amazing!!!! I agree. Xxx i have never seen anything like it. I can't believe how easy it made my hair brushing. I would have lost alot more hair by the way i normally brush my hair dry.
Came here because I purchased my brush last week and it was shipped today. When I looked at the shipping I noticed it was from coming in from CHINA! Luckily I got it half priced (still too much) and with free shipping. I usually research my products thoroughly before purchasing but the price and free shipping made it an impulse buy especially since I was under the impression it was Black owned. Eh well, hopefully I like this brush over my Wet brush.
That brush was a god send it use to take me an hour to detangle my whole head now it takes 30 minutes huge difference I have type 3 hair but it tangles badly
So I just ordered a couple last week while they were having a sale and my order has finally shipped, it’s now in transit. I see it’s coming from China, I was under the impression that they would be coming from Portland, OR as that’s their business address :/
I think you just lack Discernment. Because even black owned businesses scam people everyday including the black hair community. It has nothing to with the color of the skin . Ask the holy spirit if you should but from this person its not that difficult.
Thanks for a great and thorough review! WIsh I had seen it sooner, because I got hustled into buying from EZ detangler v/s getting the Amazon equivalent😭
I ordered mine thru Amazon paid 9.00 that's including the tax. I ordered yesterday I received it today! I really it and I like it better closed like u do!!
Girrrrrrrl with my texture I have to always finger detangle b4 anything touches my hair. As i get alot of knots and dont want to rip my hair out. The Felicia Leatherwood brush is my favorite and Denman brush for really tangled hair
Unpopular opinion: I have the Felicia Leatherwood brush and I do NOT like it! I tend to use my Walmart knock off more (and I don’t like that one because it has beads on the ends of the bristles like a wig brush). So I’m looking for an alternative. My reason for not liking the Felicia Leatherwood brush is because it is VERY difficult to clean it. Although it detangles well the bristles are too sturdy and it’s hard to move the bristles apart at the base near the handle. Plus I hate the handle on the Felicia Leatherwood brush it hurts my hand. How was cleaning your hair out of the EZ brush?
Bernice Shed agreed! The Felicia Learherwood is a little too rough for me so I’ve actually gone back to my wide tooth comb. I clean out my Felicia leatherwood by putting soap into the bristles, turning it over (so the bristles are facing down) and run it under water. I put my hand under the running water to catch the hair as it falls out.
Hi Bernice! I do see what you mean, I tend to put combs/brushes etc in the shower with me when I'm showering, the falling water tends to get a lot of the product off them. Then I wash them off afterwards. But I totally see what you mean about product getting stuck at the bottom of the brush, it can be a little hard to remove. I've found that the handle is wider than my hand, it hurts if I try to grip it too hard, so I tend to grip it more loosely.
I know this comment is months old but one time while I online shopped I got scammed, my products never came and eventually the website shut down so I could never get a refund (I called my bank though so I got a refund either way) so since that’s happened I always look up the products name and stuff and always watch 5 videos and get my conclusions from that. I remember wanting to buy function beauty but then I saw stuff where it makes hair fall out so I decided not to buy it because I have thick hair so if that much hair was coming from someone with thin hair I don’t wanna see what comes from my hair.
Hi Curly Closet, I really enjoyed & appreciated this video. I kept seeing different reviews for this brush and didn't want to waste money on a gimmick. I'm new to your channel. I found you to be very informative. I adore your english accent. I would love to see you review other brushes like the red one in your video. Have a good day!🌞
Thank you so much for supporting my channel! Here is the follow up video! EZ Detangler Brush vs Felicia Leatherwood Brush: ruclips.net/video/77MvKT5dLDk/видео.html
I just bought the generic EZ Detangler brush I would have bought Felicia’s if I knew better. And I usually research products and companies before I buy. The one time I don’t 🤦🏽♂️
I was told by a hairstylist one time not to use any brushes. To use an afro pick instead to detangle. Leave in conditioner and a $5 afro pick has always worked for me.
I got my brush from the EZ detangler brush website. It came in the exact same packaging as yours. The only difference was the logo. My package also came from China. I don't think this is black-owned at all!
Yes! I noticed the same thing about the packaging in all the reviews I watched (I researched before I made my video because I didn't want to be wrong!)... I don't think so either!
Wow...zip feel some kind of way now. I haven't gotten it yet. It's been 3 weeks, tracking # they gave me said it is now in CA. I paused the video then came back to comment...it came from China😫
I have seen the same thing happen in the online ads for flat irons. The vendor is selling a specific flat iron but shows footage of people using COMPLETELY DIFFERENT flat irons!!!
i ordered mine the 11th , it’s the 30th. I didn’t get a confirmation email/receipt, i’ve sent emails from two different email accounts haven’t heard back, made several tickets on their site haven’t heard anything back, i go to their IG page they have no phone number i can reach and the person that runs the page can’t offer much help, she said they emailed me i have YET to receive anything other than promotions and coupons? I told her I wanted to speak to someone or get a refund she won’t give me a straight answer on that, and lastly every time i try to track my order on their site until today.. i don’t even want the brush anymore
Hey sis! They didn't inform you to download an app named shop? (It was called arrive but recently changed to shop) mine is coming from China also 🙄 but the app keeps me updated on where my package is and I ordered mine on the 14th of April. I live in South Carolina but It's in Charlotte now in transit. Hopefully I get mine soon. But I will not be ordering from their website again! I'll get it from Amazon next time
Its crazy I found that brush on Curlistic and I ordered it cause it's hard for me to detangle my 4C hair. I'm still waiting on my order but I can't wait. Mines came with a scalp massager and they are the same color.
Thank you! I did see facebook ads for the knockoff saying it was black-owned. I found your video and decided to just buy the Felicia Leatherwood brush.
It’s been months now and I have yet to receive my product from Ez Brush. I’m livid! I keep emailing and keep getting a run around about the product which was lost in the mail. They’ve done nothing to help or accommodate.
I was interested in the bar and how to use the bar and what effects the bar would have on the detangling which You Breezed by and I did catch you making it wider but that's about it So on to the next video to figure out what the bar does in reference to detangling. I kinda know how to brush hair
Yes, please to a comparison. I recently got a pink one Amazon. I've only tried it on a small section of my hair. So far my $2.49 Evolve brush is better. I'll use it again when I have more time.
@@tbott4510 hey I actually do a comparison of the EZ brush and Evolve brush (if we’re talking about the same one) in my tutorial video ruclips.net/video/yTE2xMyBrVI/видео.html check it out if you want love. My thick hair actually broke the evolve brush! But I was able to put it back together
I've seen the Curltastic brushes and you are 100% correct - the brushes are identical. I don't think they are the same company though. I think they are different companies who source their brushes from the same place.
I can’t find the brushes that have EZ logo on it anywhere I just end up buying the same brush from other companies(sometimes black owned) that just put their company names on it. For exemple Hairlistica it’s a black owned business that has very good products and recently the owner started selling these same brushes
So a lot of people who sell on amazon and other ecommerce sites buy items in bulk from China that can also be customized with a logo then they resell it for a profit. You can find this exact brush for sale on alibaba.com in bulk for $1.39 per brush. The actual EZ Detangler Brushes may actually be being resold by a black person just like she said there may be a black person somewhere in the supply chain. I haven't done any research as to who is actually behind the ez detangler brush company.
I’m am so disappointed in the shipment process, I was told over and over since May that my product would ship in a week? It is now mid July and still no product. I’m so sad 😞 hope everyone is enjoying this item looks nice 😞🤔
Hello, I’d like to purchase one of these brushes, but I’ve got real 4c kinky hair, and as I’ve seen in nearly all the videos, ads and so on that the people who use these brushes don’t have the same texture like me. My question: will it really work on my hair? 🤔🤔 I don’t want to buy it then to be disappointed 😞
I bought on aliexpress for 4$.Was the exact same brush.Even has the same PAT at the back.Probably some seller bought from there and branded it to make a quick bag
NaturalMonroe I’m also waiting for mine as well from Ali. I ordered them on 3/25 and they only cost $3 each. I’m anxious to try it out already. This quarantine is winning the battle with my hair. 😂
Pretty good review! Thanks for the demo though. My only critique would be, next time maybe read the instructions aloud, because I saw you used the brush incorrectly. Vertical use is supposed to define, and horizontal is more for detangling. Once you added the attachment, then you got the holding on point. Thank you a lot!
I bought the felicia leatherwood brush and i LOVE it. I've seen a couple adverts from companies that are claiming to be 'black owned' but CLEARLY aren't-- including for this brush. It's so disrespectful. I was also skeptical of all these headwrap companies that are now popping up in my IG claiming to be black owned. Different company names, yet all have the same generic 'owner info' on their sites word for word that they seem to have lifted from an ACTUAL Black business. onyewow or something like that. anyway... do ya research, buy black.
i actually came across the advert for this brush just a few minutes ago on a hair care video! so happy i searched this up or wouldve never known this was a stolen idea from a black woman on a product that claimed to be “black owned”
I don't believe the idea of the brush was stolen - I said clearly in the video that neither brush design is new - brushes like these have been around for years. The brushes have significant differences between them. Footage was stolen, but not the idea of the brush.
I purchase a dryer brush from the website. It work for 2 days then the motor burn out. The worst part it is I complain to them they say it plug in I try to show them the dryer don't work. They dropped the case.
Any help would be amazing... I see so many brushes advertised for detangling and I do not know what to go for lol... My son has tight curls but also has loose curls.. He gets alot of shrinkage and I'm always struggling with his hair. What would you suggest to be the best option? Thank you
Hi Tammie, I think the best thing to do would be to find people on RUclips who have a similar curl pattern to your son, and then find out what they use to detangle. It can be a real trial and error process. Whatever you do, detangling on wet hair with conditioner or another detangler is essential! I hope this helped.
The brushes are probably all manufactured in China but the company could be black owned. Black owners, Chinese suppliers. It’s just cheap plastic stuff that cost pennies/pence to produce. Not an original trademark product. I saw thousands on Ali Express. It looks like it works though. Great review
What was the pain level of any with this? I have a 3yo who has really curly hair and finding a good detangler brush has been difficult to say the least and often a lot of hair still comes out.
I wish i would have found this video before. I purchased mine a month ago and they said my post office has it . my post office and my mailman didn't receive it and i am having a hard time getting my money back and paypal haven't responded to me either
I used my friend ez detangler and now my hair smell burnt. I trying to figure out is it the brush or something that she just washed her hair with that smell what in the world. I liked it but I gotta see where that smell come from before I buy
I'm sorry. I prefer the ez detangler because i seen the comparisons yesterday, the ez brush won big time. I wish the other brush was better but unfortunately it isn't and some of us who truly struggle with 3a-4c hair have to buy what actually works for our hair.
You don't need to be sorry for your opinion - if it works for you then it works. If you watch the whole review, you will see that the brush did actually work for me - and I stated clearly that each person should do what they think is best for them and their hair. Every product works differently for each person. This is simply my review and opinion.

I agree. Ordered mine over a month an d a half ago & it has been sitting in china. I going to submit a claim on it to refund my money

I use the Felicia brush because it really isn’t so flexible and easy to glide and dangle. Using ez broke my hair..sadly. It’s way to flexible for me.
😩..i purchased the ez detangler brush. It was shipped from China. It took almost 3 weeks to be delivered. It works but i definitely would have purchased the felicia leatherwood brush instead of this one.

Truth is.... if the brush works, the logo make makes no difference!
@@Life.Love.Locs. its a knock off, and the add you saw probably wasn't official either.
Omg I was one of the people whose video clip they stole to use to falsely advertise their product! I was using the Felicia Leatherwood Brush in my video!
Love my Felicia Leatherwood!
The brush flexes much better for me when I remove that plastic piece that holds it together. It makes the detangling much faster.
I was wondering wat it was for I took mines off lol

@@Aariyan096 it's a dupe, made exactly the same, looks exactly the same, only difference is you're not paying for the name.
Jamie Braxton Thank you
@@Aariyan096 To my knowledge, it's exactly the same brush, it's just not branded with EZ.
I bought mine from Walmart for $10-12 it works great I heard it comes in 2 sizes a regular and a mini Brush I have a regular sizes brush
What location at Walmart? I haven't seen them at mine
Amazing , By the way , Who else do need the comb now ?
I got my brush from the EZ detangler brush website. It came in the exact same packaging as yours. The only difference was the logo. My package also came from China. I don't think this is black-owned at all!
Yes! I noticed the same thing about the packaging in all the reviews I watched (I researched before I made my video because I didn't want to be wrong!)... I don't think so either!
Ti-Tash JB how long did it take for you to receive your package?
@@jackiejackson2012 it took 3 to 4 weeks for it to be delivered.
Wow...zip feel some kind of way now. I haven't gotten it yet. It's been 3 weeks, tracking # they gave me said it is now in CA. I paused the video then came back to comment...it came from China😫
@Jessica D - I hope you got yours by now!
So glad I found this video! I wanted to buy that brush but want to buy black-owned and now I can 😌
I just searched for Felisha Leatherwood brush on Amazon and only the knock off brush came up 😱
I wish had looked this up on yt before i ordered it yesterday😩😩
Same 🤦🏽♀️
***update***
I emailed them and they canceled and refunded
got mine, was actually pretty good
no this is me right now
All because of one video? Lol.
The attachment for the brush may be useful for a blowout. I just ordered for myself and daughter. Great review 👌🏽
Great idea!
The attachment doesn't work for me at all
Great review! I use every brush with that technique: vertical first, then horizontal, including Denman and Tangle Teezer.
Thank you!
I have seen the same thing happen in the online ads for flat irons. The vendor is selling a specific flat iron but shows footage of people using COMPLETELY DIFFERENT flat irons!!!
It's so common now! 🙈🤷🏾♀️
I just seen it on Instagram which is why I went looking for a review in the first place
👍🏾 I hope my review was helpful.
i ordered mine the 11th , it’s the 30th.
Oh no! 😥 I'm so sorry to hear this, seriously.
I'll get it from Amazon next time
do you have rain in the background? or is that just your bg sound? either way its so relaxing ☺️
or download the Calm app.. i swear it’s so relaxing.
No it’s her loud ass fan in the background💀
It is a fan
Chxmamanda x ahhhhh lol
@@R4rinny stfu💢😭🤣🤣
Magic because of professional 😂 oh dearrrrrr🙈🙈🙈
Girlllllll.... 🤔🤨😑🙈
😂 🏃🏾♀️
Just get a felcia leatherwood brush, that's the real one.
They are both real brushes. One is not a copy of the other (as I stated in the video).
Is the BESTOOL brush the real thing as well?
Yes, please to a comparison. I recently got a pink one Amazon. I've only tried it on a small section of my hair. So far my $2.49 Evolve brush is better. I'll use it again when I have more time.
I've never heard of Evolve but I'll look into it. And yes, thanks for the feedback re: the comparison 😁
Thanks for the info! I have the Evolve brush and wondered about these brushes. I'll probably hold off getting it.
Here is the follow up video! EZ Detangler Brush vs Felicia Leatherwood Brush: ruclips.net/video/77MvKT5dLDk/видео.html
Thk U 4 sharing I just purchase the brush from Amazon for $12.99 color black will receive in one week.😀
Are Curltastic and EZ Detangler the same company? The brushes look exactly the same!
I've seen the Curltastic brushes and you are 100% correct - the brushes are identical. I don't think they are the same company though. I think they are different companies who source their brushes from the same place.
@@Life.Love.Locs. Exactly!
Even tressfully yours but they dye theirs
I can’t find the brushes that have EZ logo on it anywhere I just end up buying the same brush from other companies(sometimes black owned) that just put their company names on it. For exemple Hairlistica it’s a black owned business that has very good products and recently the owner started selling these same brushes
They have them at my beauty supply store for like 5$ same color and all. Ima go.buy one now, thanks
I think I saw Evaniwithav here on YT in a chitchat GRWM video talk about her content being stolen where she reviewed the Felicia Leatherwood brush.
Yes, I did spot her in the false advertising - which is one of the things that made alarm bells ring. I love her reviews. :-)
I already bought mine and I loved your review. I’m still waiting for it in the mail but your review really helped
Glad I could help!
Which is the best brush for styling? Not so much for detangling.
I’m am so disappointed in the shipment process, I was told over and over since May that my product would ship in a week? It is now mid July and still no product. I’m so sad 😞 hope everyone is enjoying this item looks nice 😞🤔
Hello,
I’d like to purchase one of these brushes, but I’ve got real 4c kinky hair, and as I’ve seen in nearly all the videos, ads and so on that the people who use these brushes don’t have the same texture like me.
My question: will it really work on my hair? 🤔🤔 I don’t want to buy it then to be disappointed 😞
I bought on aliexpress for 4$.Was the exact same brush.Even has the same PAT at the back.Probably some seller bought from there and branded it to make a quick bag
Including shipping and got to Nigeria in 3weeks!
After your hair is twisted like so. Do you then wash it and style it or do you leave it in twist?
Thank you. I've been waiting/hoping for a cheaper version of this brush.
You're welcome!
Can you tell me why there is a plastic extra bit, do we need that for our hair?
Just bought one on aliexpress when I recieve it in about a month I'll let you know.
NaturalMonroe I’m also waiting for mine as well from Ali. I ordered them on 3/25 and they only cost $3 each. I’m anxious to try it out already. This quarantine is winning the battle with my hair. 😂
Did you put any kind of stuff in your hair before you started to brush it?
Loved this review. My daughter is now the proud owner of one. I am hoping that this makes our life easier.
I hope so too! x
I bought mine on AliExpress which was like a 4d and works really well
Thanks for sharing! x
I bought mine two months ago from Confident Curly Hair, it never came, and they are from China. I'm so angry because I bought something else as well.
Hi there, thanks for the critique - however, the EZ detangler site says to use it exactly how I did. 🙂 Thanks for watching!
That rain sounds satisfying LOLLL
Hi,do u think I can use a weavon brush to brush my hair
I bought the felicia leatherwood brush and i LOVE it. I've seen a couple adverts from companies that are claiming to be 'black owned' but CLEARLY aren't-- including for this brush. It's so disrespectful. I was also skeptical of all these headwrap companies that are now popping up in my IG claiming to be black owned. Different company names, yet all have the same generic 'owner info' on their sites word for word that they seem to have lifted from an ACTUAL Black business. onyewow or something like that. anyway... do ya research, buy black.
Thanks for the review I'm going on Amazon and order it for my thick 4b/c natural hair❤❤❤
Thank you for the support! x
Did you ever do a comparison with the two brushes
Yes, the video link should be pinned to the top of the comments 😊
😆😆😆detector is here, i got my from Ali express, same brush but without the letters, new subbie and Friend 😘
Heyyyyy friend!
Thanks for this, I'm a bro w/ a fro and this inspires me 💙💙
You're welcome! 💖
same, co worker got this for me wanted to see if it works 🙏🏽
Love this brush works great on my hair!
Thanks for sharing! x
i actually came across the advert for this brush just a few minutes ago on a hair care video! so happy i searched this up or wouldve never known this was a stolen idea from a black woman on a product that claimed to be “black owned”
Please let us get that comparison vid!
I'm working on it!
Here is the follow up video! EZ Detangler Brush vs Felicia Leatherwood Brush: ruclips.net/video/77MvKT5dLDk/видео.html
So where do u order from cause I really need this I just pulled out enough hair to gave somebody else to put on there head
Links in the description 🙂
The ads are back thanks for the video
The brushes are probably all manufactured in China but the company could be black owned. Black owners, Chinese suppliers. It’s just cheap plastic stuff that cost pennies/pence to produce. Not an original trademark product. I saw thousands on Ali Express. It looks like it works though. Great review
That's totally possible, I agree with you. Thanks very much! 💖
What was the pain level of any with this? I have a 3yo who has really curly hair and finding a good detangler brush has been difficult to say the least and often a lot of hair still comes out.
I wish i would have found this video before. I purchased mine a month ago and they said my post office has it . my post office and my mailman didn't receive it and i am having a hard time getting my money back and paypal haven't responded to me either
i watched the whole video and i *definitely* know what to do
Love your lipstick what is the name of it I'd like to get some
Yes please compare the two
You sound completely Kenyan - nice video. I have never used a detangle brush except maybe when I was little but I have 3c hair so
I used my friend ez detangler and now my hair smell burnt.
