I don't know what he means by "date code correct" as Chevy didn't put 307 engines in Camaros in 1968. Also, in '68 Chevy started stamping the block with the VIN, so it's easy to tell if a car is numbers-matching original, which this one is not. This was either a base model 6-cylinder or 327 that has been badged up to look like an SS (which would have had a 350) or it is an SS car that someone blew the original 350 in (though I can't imagine anyone swapping a 350 for a 307). Looks good but kind of a hodgepodge and way-way overpriced.
Exactly 👍
How the heck does someone build a car with a 307 😮😮😮
Totally agree. I had a '68 Malibu with a 307/200hp , but I UPGRADED to a '69 327/300hp motor. What a difference!!
307 was nothing but a boat anchor
I believe you could get a ‘67 Camaro SS with a 6 cylinder.
Out of high school my buddy had a ‘69 Camaro RS/SS, 350, 4spd. Nice car.
Pretty sure he took the 492 out before he sold it
20K ALL DAY
I'm sure many sellers would try to pass this off as a real 327 car. Not Maple. Kudos for that. The 307 runs strong and clean. Not likely to get someone in trouble with that setup. A decent 10 footer that seems a bit overpriced to me. Maybe I am just out of touch. The door alignment-is that cause for alarm or a fairly easy fix?
You are way out of touch😆
Agreed. Seems like some rust was painted over (bottom of the door and between back window and trunk), custom wiring under the dash and the fit/finish is fair, like the left tail light.
More like a $25,000 car with that set up and engine, but it will sell!. Folks wondering why a 307? My guess by looking at the exhaust adapted i and the frame ties, traction bars etc, this car had a much healthier engine and was pulled and the 307 thrown in to make it turn key when sold. Veyr good looking car, will sell fast.
My thoughts exactly.
They also said date code correct 307, not original. But I wonder how many people listening to that are thinking its original engine??
'68 Camaro did NOT come with a 307.
The sound of freedom. Love America and Americann Steel. Greetings from chilly California.
What a nice example of a Camaro ....I have built three of these and it's impossible to find one to build without spending more than this asking price ....Nay sayers may think so but parts alone add up so quick ....Another fine car from America's hot rod lot ...
What exactly is expensive about this car? You can find this entire drivetrain for under 5k. All interior cheap plastic and carpet
I Dumped all the 307s I had, There free around here!!!!! And also 283s
@@Phillip-up3ip I agree with you on that ....I gotta 305 I gave away myself and never liked a 307 ..Wasn't that a early 70s smog motor?
Nice looking vehicle, sounds nice, can't believe it's a 307 in a 68 SS Camaro. A 350 would be standard fare. A 454 is the preferred option. So not sure it's worth $37k especially with the 307, would be more reliable as a daily driver like the standard mustangs with a 4.6 or 5.0. You can find Nova's with 350's in them for cheaper. The nostalgic thrill in this vehicle is not worth the cost considering the options out there such as the aforementioned ✌🏾❤
It's not a SS Camaro
It is not an SS., simply made to look like one. As well no first Gen Camaro came with a 454
@@44special9 well thats obvious, there shouldn't be badges that say so then.
Yes I would prefer it without the badges but to each their own . @@mojorisin7371
Knock 10k of the price due to the 307.
Is that tach set to 4 or 6 cylinder?
307 is a 327 crank in a 283 block which is a very good motor but people don't know how to set them up need to advance the camshaft timing 4degrees, run vortex heads💪👍
Whats with all the Camaros with 307 in them.?
🍀It's a Camaro it's a four-speed missing the balls 😎✌️
The 307 wasn’t available until 69 and it was not a good option. 200Hp. from the factory and was not a good engine to hot rod. Idk why anyone would put it in a 68.
307 was available in 1968.
@@jamesf4405My 68 Chevelle came with a 307 , it was slower than a turtle 🐢 Running in peanut butter ! 🤔 After a few butt whippings I put a 454 with 12 Bolt stuffed with 3.73 gears with a 2800 Stall converter & lived happily ever after 🔥🔥😂😂👍 Nice Car
my sources tell me that the Camaro didn't get the 307 until 69 @@jamesf4405
Exactly 👍
Tach is probably set for 4cyl or 6cyl.
I love the 307!
Another beautiful Camaro Nick!
Might try putting on the Seat-belt...or didn't it have one?
No rally stripes on a Super Sport either.
That Camaro is pretty Loud for a 307 Awesome
Got the same tach in my 70 pickup, had it put in the dash though cause on the steering wheel just looks gay. Sometimes it’s not accurate, just gotta shut car off and start again and it usually fixes it.
I had a 1971 with a 307 with a 2-speed power glide transmission.. was not fast but a stable car
Beautiful '68 but like someone else mentioned why would you put a 307 in it? Nick, I also love Camaro's. I had a '67.
Reminds me of the Camaro a friend had in school. Previous owner had a wicked 396 in it. Put a 307 in to sell it. Looked great but no powerhouse. Probably for the best with a 16 year old driver! Every time I think something is overpriced it sells quick. At least Nick is honest enough to tell you what is wrong with it.
Love this Camaro, great daily driver. Nice cruiser with a little pep. Beautiful color combo what's not to like.
Glad you like it!
Very beautiful amazing car thanks Nick have a very nice day mate
I enjoyed this video production.
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice and clean! Thank you for another awesome video! Mike from Cleveland Ohio!
I understand why it sold. Its beautiful!!!
Nothing wrong with a 307 sbc. Great cruising engine.
Couldn't agree more!
Classic.
DANG, I thought for sure the horn would have worked!
Nice Camaro but it's not a real SS. The base motor in an SS is a 350 and the 396 was the top engine.
327 base
Nick , Your intro music with your band sounds great ! I was listening to the words . Have any CD’s yet . You guys sound great! PS - I like this Camaro . I’m an Olds guy … Maybe 442 , maybe Cutlass Supreme convertible. Keep up the good vibes !
Kinda surprised. A baby 307 Camaro with traction bars?
Good looking Camaro
Thank you
@@MapleMotorsNickSouthgate Anytime my friend
There's something about an old school camaro! Sounds nicely cammed car too
Awesome paint job
Thanks 👍
Sweet 68 Camaro
Pretty nice car. Someone will have fun with this one.
i noticed a leak on the lines front left. i smell gas
7:33 sounds like a beat sample
Looks nice. Might look better if it was painted Hugger Orange.
Buy it then paint it
😆
I like the blue with the white stripe on these but the red is cool too
Sounds healthy
One Sweet Chevy. Should sell fast !!
Perfect
Great car 🤟 from maple motors, superb car, thanks Nick great video stay cool 😎 😎 😊 😊😊😊
Thanks, you too!
Says 327 on the fender…
Has a lot of issues, speedo inop, tach incorrect, headliner drooping, dash cracked, horn inop, says it has a 307 but has 327 emblems of fenders. Way too many issues and problems.
Also has 350 on the gas cap
Beautiful car! I wish I was rich.
I get a good vibe from this car 👍
Beautiful car and a nice sounding 307
Sweet ride 🔥 I like the paint scheme and it has a nice gurgling sound.
Thanks 👍
Nice camaro probably sell fast.
Nice car but them cheep glass packs got to go! It a 307 wat! Sounds stock
Nice 68 look good. Like 👍 big 10.
Anther rust bucket covered up by fresh paint.way overpriced.
Another person that cant afford it🤣😆
@@ericclaeyborn3600some people have good taste
you sure thats a 307...fender tags show 327 thats what would have came woth it
what happened to the church? they run ya out?
Why does it say 327 and have a 307
Cause it's not matching numbers.
that’s sweet but 988k miles
98k
307. 😂😂
Shiny red paint and mag wheels will be sold in a hot minute.
Junk 307.
Dont run and sound like junk 307
Very nice car. But I would have at least put a 350 in it.
I’d rather buy this than a new one. To think that a Tesla can outrun any of these, for almost the same price. I’m 54 and I see a day where gas cars will be a thing of the past
@god_laughs_at_atheists6928 I see your point. Time will surely tell. All the best
327 would b nice😢
Nice ❤
Thanks
Whats up nick back with u rolling u get enough turkey
I’ve got to have hideway headlights

Great candidate for an LS swap.
The Differential 😂 Paint it....
