Basic Sound - light crunch

Cool comparison. I like how you progressively work the drive up. These two sound extremely close. And the fact that one is $160 and the other is $2000 makes it a no brainer for me. Glad I snagged one of these before all 5000 are gone 💛💚💛
Great video..I just recently did one on the 30th Anniversary as well I really like it keep up the good the work 👊
Bought no 996 yesterday and used it last night...sounds great
Wow, they nailed it.
I just pre ordered the 30th just see what all the hype is about.
You turn the Drive potentiometer almost to the end, and the sound hardly changes. There's something wrong with your setup
I feel that the 30th nobels had more midrange focus you can hear more overtones, the 90’s has more low end and focus on the top it’s missing a bit of the midrange but it does have a great character sound. Both are great, but I think I prefer the the 30th so I can have more low end control especially if I’m playing a Les Paul or SG .
You nailed it
I got my 30th a couple weeks ago and I it’s great, much better than the reissues imo. Sounds more open to me. Especially great to have the bass knob which I like in the noon or slightly lower position. Never tried an original Nobels before, great to see the comparison 👍🏾
Kinda hard to tell through RUclips, but they sound close. How similar do they feel?
Very, very close....
That’s a good question. Funny. A cheap Klone copy sound s almost the same on RUclips as a. Real one. Till u actually play it and then it’s night and day. And u can feel the difference
What is going on with that bypass tone?
What do you mean in detail?
There's a pretty substantial clipping sound on the bypass tone. Sounds like digital or mic clipping @@michaelsanmann1660
