@@jamespilgrim3774 The way people do it in runs is with the setup, but it was most likely encountered by accident initially. Then it was recreated, then a setup was found for it. That's how a good 80-90% of speed run glitches are found and developed

He didn't say it but press y before every hop (since you can't move while swinging) then cancel the attack with the hop. This will guarantee the setup will work. Also when closing the inventory don't hold b and run into the fight, pressing plus instead will prevent this
Can’t wait to do this with Keese eye arrows so I don’t have to do all that

It's the fact that it's doing damage DURING the cutscene that's curious to me. Granted, there shouldn't normally be any way that the enemies would be attacked during cutscenes, so the devs probably never put up any kind of flag to make enemies invincible during them.
It's like the arrow despawns, but the hitbox lingers, plus the perfect positioning allows it to linger in the Windblight's collision box
Most likely what they did wasn't a cutscene in the traditional sense. I think they just removed the ability to move from the player, froze other objects outside of the ganon, swapped to a predetermined camera angle and the text is added onto the UI layer. So when he spawns that is the games Ganon and I just guess they never tested to see what would happen if an arrow was in the same area as a spawning boss

that’s the reason why I got burnt out playing botw the first time. Bc I was so adamant on exploring everything in an area for those korok seeds before moving on. Even when my bro finished the main story, I still had more korok seeds than him.
For people saying that he didn't kill Ganon but windblight instead, there is also a setup to do damage to Ganon with one arrow.
Unfortunately, this can only be done once all blights are defeated in the divine beasts.

@@triscuitgonzalez7936there's a lot of these sorts of set ups in ocarina of time speedruns, I believe for oot someone wrote a program to find them
You take it in reverse, like "I need to be here and at this angle to make this work, how do I get there?" and start experimenting.
In this particular case we have walls nearby, which is really useful for setting up particular angles, so now we just need to figure out the moves to get the position, which would take a couple hours of trial and error.

Had the exact same thought. That series of commands was more complicated than a move input in a fighting game, so I'm stumped as to how they figured this out.

The other way to do it is to shoot a singular arrow and then beat up Ganon with a stick
That is not defeating Ganon. That is cheesing 1/4 of pre-ganon with an exploit.

I had no idea how specific it was to do that. I've seen you speed run it so I saw the wall climb and lining it up. I had no idea you needed a specific bow and some food to accomplish it. But it makes sense thinking about it now. You want to make sure it does enough damage.

I've done this with calamity ganon. I think... the start cutscene played, then the death cutscene and it skipped to the beast ganon. No visual glitch though.
