Special Reconnaissance ( SR), Air Force Special Operations Command ( AFSOC) ISR asset, while Marine Reconnaissance is a Expeditionary FMF Amphibious Reconnaissance ISR asset , assigned to the MAGTF ,with a Special Operations Capable ( SOC) dynamic.
Each military services has different mission sets and thus needs specialized battle space information and surveillance needed to pick targets and or alter or prep battle space or anticipate enemy moves. Members of each service are usually best trained and equipped and familiar with their own services weapon systems. Airmen for Air Force, Soldiers for Army, Sailors for Navy, Marines for Marines even Coasties for Coast Guard.
Day 6 of asking for tenth mountain division 3rd faze of buds navy riverines airborne 101st and 82nd and playlists for 2nd and 3rd tier units plus 24th special tactics squadron vs. 160 soar
Depends on the mission, location, who's available, etc. CCTs and SRs can be attached to other units or operate on their own. Sometimes the CCTs and SRs (sometimes PJs and TACP as well) are deployed together under an Air Force Special Tactics Officer. Perhaps an SR team of 2-3 can find and mark targets in the field for the CCT to call in air strikes or find/secure an area for the CCT operator/unit to deploy to for air traffic control. I'd guess that SRs can operate on their own moreso than CCTs do, whereas since there are only a certain number of CCTs that the CCTs would deploy with other SOFs/conventional units more often than deploying on their own. I have read that some SRs do go through sniper training so that capability can make them valuable to deploy with a SOF team if that team is deployed for strictly reconnaissance/overwatch in some hole in the ground or cave and such.
Hence, why SOWT transitioned over to SR. AFSOC STS units have an independent ability to perform deep, area/site recon on an objective. Or support a joint mission fulfilling the same capacity.

@PriJos0356 ripping a hundo out of a 240 and 249 then taking a nap under the gazebo at the range isn’t “iNfAnTrY tRaInInG”. POG marines are just in shape civilians that shoot table one once a year if they’re lucky. “Every marine rifle man” is a lie.
One alibi. You forgot USMC School of Infantry 8 weeks between boot camp and BRC.
I hear that MARSOC's special focus on Special Reconnaissance is what makes them stand out from SF and SEALs, even though they have those capabilities (Much like MARSOC and SF combat Divers have amphibious warfare capabilities, but SEALs take it to the next level and how MARSOC and SEALS have UW capabilities, but GB take it to a higher level) so I was wondering how MARSOC's Special Reconnaissance capabilities compare to USAF Special Recon. Would you mind making a video about that?
Loving this one
Great channel! Please review Bortac and USMS SOG.
Dope video gents thank u
Solid editing. I like the new style.

This is really cool, my man, but remember that the Chinese and Russians are ALSO VERY grateful for this analysis as well...
This isn’t helping them lmao you can find all this info on Wikipedia

Its amazing great video because people just don't understand just how intelligent and amazing these guys are as a former marine people think we are stupid its the same reason why people believe construction workers my new job are not smart enough its takes a lot of mental energy to be in these units or but up building
I am trying to be SR. I ship off to basic in February and I cant wait to start this new adventure

How you doing bro? How’s it going in the pipeline
I went 2 the Army back in 99, while I was at Ft Benning i met some Pjs,and CCTs. And I really got into the CCT, and I wanted 2 go 2 the AF, after my ets date in the Army. But I sucked at written test 4 the asvab. But I think if the SR, was around, I would of loved 2 do this job, I would of actually studied hard 4 the asvab, but back then they were CWTs. I didn't really care for that field. I wish I could be 19 again
Well, what are you up to now?

12:37 SR doesn’t have officers. It has STOs, but those guys go through the CCT pipeline and are more like ccts (so google says)
Edit:timestamp
Yes, we know this. Would have taken too much time to explain. Bottom line, you can work with SR as an Officer.
STOs are like the do it all guys while CROs are the officer version of PJs
i guess force recon decided they were to good for socom
Air Force Special Recon and Marine Force Recon are both best of the best deadly silent professional patriotic warriors against all enemies everywhere, the eyes and ears special Recon Operations
Only Marines!
General Discharge, I want to transfer to RECON one day. But, my GT isn’t high enough. Do I have to Re-Take the ASVAB?
Not sure how it is in the marines but in army we have what’s called fast class that allows you study during duty hours with a teacher and at the end you’ll go to your education center and take the asvab again
@@jbenny9753 thanks dude!
@@cobravlods5005 yes it's called the masp program. It's a month long. Go to your education center and ask about it. You can take the ASVAB any time but its recommended to do the MASP class first. That will be your apoint of duty for the entire month. Where are you stationed at? If it's in North carolina I can tell you where the education center is or ask your NCO

Yes, you need to concentrate on learning math up to algebra, reading comprehension, and word knowledge. Pretty much study math on khan academy (its free) and read a lot.
Do a video on the 28th eod regiment next lol
It would be cool if you guys covered foreign special operations units. Keep up the good work!
Can u do a video on AF OSI?
Can yall do a video on SBS (special boat service)
Can you do a video explaining about Special Forces CIF/CRF Companies

could you do a video on the foreign legions 2nd rep
Is it possible you could make a video about the 24th Special Tactics Squadron?
Nevermind I just saw the vid.

How does Army Ranger RRC stack up in the recon world
They’re the fucking best and do a lot more than just recon.

Best video
Is this what special weather operators became? Nvm answered in the video.
How about Combat Control.
I'm a big fan, I have a question, do CCTs and SRs are always attached to other SOFs or can they operate on their own?
I’m not sure about SRs, but CCTs will go on missions by themselves. Such as securing airfields or being air traffic controllers for cargo planes.
Depends, sometimes they are attached to other SOCOM units, sometimes they operate independently by themselves.
Hence, why SOWT transitioned over to SR.
AFSOC STS units have an independent ability to perform deep, area/site recon on an objective. Or support a joint mission fulfilling the same capacity.
Thank you everybody for your reply.
Would love a good video on MP’s I’ve heard of them attaching to SF for deployments
@Black Lung MC more or less 😅
