Yeah you're totally right this song has been hidden from so many people for so long I wish everybody could hear this because honestly this is and always should be the standard I totally agree you're awesome person🎉
Such a gorgeous song; sets the tone for the scene and it makes me nostalgic for the '90s and for my parents telling me how they'd listen to The Shadow on the radio in the late-'30s and through the '40s.
TheShadow OST: It's very evocative. I DVRed The Shadow three weeks ago and have watched it twice after not having seen it since mid-2008. I can recall seeing The Shadow with my wife on a rainy Saturday in July of '94 shortly after it was released. I can almost smell the popcorn.
I love songs like this. I used to think growing up that rich people did nothing but hang out at clubs and listen to this sort of music while having drinks.
This song is exactly describing who Lamont Cranston is: The Shadow ! Sinoa does this song beautifully !! Wish I could have been in the club as she sang it. I found the movie on Starz or Cinemax and have recorded it. I can go back in time seven years after WWI and see how the upper class hung around in beautiful clubs like this. It's awesome and so was the cast. Alec Baldwin at 36 years of age is unbelievably hot !! Barbara Kusher
That's where I first saw the movie too! On Starz and then I went out and bought it! Yeah I've got to admit too he was pretty hot. Just when he walks in, in this scene and smiles as he fixes his cuff link
for me this song is one of my favorite ones on my discography, with difference, not only in soundtracks, it to be seems for me a very nice and elegant song with very elegant arrangements
You travel back in time to either the 1930s or 40s, you walk into the clubs of the day, and this is most likely the kind of song that a sultry female lounge singer would be belting out.
***** LOL! Oh, I know what you're talking about. But to answer your question, I'd say you definitely look 'sultry' in your picture. The pose alone is what many would consider 'sultry.'
I always wondered _if_ this movie's version of Margo could be the successor to the Shadow (that is, she becomes the Shadow if Lamont got incapacitated and can't be the Shadow anymore, simply by having his skill at mind-clouding transferred to her)?
They Say The Weed Of Crime Bears Bitter Fruit & Crime Doesn't Pay... AHAHAHAHA...Do You Really Believe You Can Win This... "What Was That...That Sound, Who Is That" Then The Shadow Comes About From The Shadows That Is The Shadow
Technically, swing. It's a slower, softer variant of jazz, that became popular around 1930 and into the 40s. It was pretty much the trademark style of Glenn Miller's band during the war years.
The key is F minor. I jotted down a sketch of the (hopefully correct) chords myself, if you're interested to check it out. Too may lines to append down here though. I don't know how to show them in full. Into eg goes like this: Fm Bb7 3x Bb C Db C and so on
This song would have deserved to become a jazz standard. It's a shame it ended up as a hidden gem, that so few remember.
Yeah you're totally right this song has been hidden from so many people for so long I wish everybody could hear this because honestly this is and always should be the standard I totally agree you're awesome person🎉
Just the right amount of sultry and smoke.
I believe this arrangement really captures the musical zeitgeist of the late Thirties and early Forties.
Gary Bell Yeah it does and it's one of my favorites too
Yes !!!
The Shadow is the perfect example of striking fear into the hearts of men just like how this song exudes the type of darkness that is Lamont Cranston
i always loved this song in the movie. a awesome big band piece.
yup one of my favorites!
Oh yeah...... tremendous. He's one great talent.

Same! My grandpa and dad remembered hearing it on the radio in the 30s and the 50s. A big nostalgic film all around for me :)
I love songs like this. I used to think growing up that rich people did nothing but hang out at clubs and listen to this sort of music while having drinks.

velociraptor4you yup
TheShadow OST:)
+Reina Quek Good question. Hmm...I would define 'sultry' as 'sex appeal that evokes old Hollywood glamour' if that makes sense.
+Reina Quek A sultry woman, to me at least, would be someone like Marilyn Monroe or Jessica Rabbit (I know she's animated, but work with me).
***** LOL! Oh, I know what you're talking about. But to answer your question, I'd say you definitely look 'sultry' in your picture. The pose alone is what many would consider 'sultry.'
Where to boss “the cobalt club.”
I used to listen to this when I was in my youthful days in 2007
still got this on my iPod and love singing along when it comes on! :)
GORGEOUS SONG .
TheShadow OST, thanks for posting this;it's now been added to my favourites list.
Magical
Are there any nightclubs today that are like the one in the film, the same kind of floorplan, etc?
Awesome song, awesome movie. Perfect. Alec should have been a candidate for Bruce Wayne!!!!
It's interesting you say this statement. Alec’s brother William Baldwin was considered for the part of Batman/Bruce Wayne for the 1989 Batman.
This song should be used for me/the Toon while the superhero girls and katana saw me in my tuxedo for our date.

This has become one of my favorite songs from movies I have seen,The Shadow movie was alright could have been better though.
Is there anywhere you can pick up the charts/sheet music for this song?
