Dude, 80 percent of guys don’t even wear frags. Assuming that 10% of the remaining 20% wear these you’re not going to “smell like everyone else.” That said, frags - even the same frags - smell different on different peeps.

said similar thing. watch several "man on the street" opinion videos where a YT reviewer goes out to ask random people which one they like...they smell and pick one. VERY VERY VERY few random people will know and identify what they were given to smell, even if they're the all time top seller/popular fragrances. you can basically wear anything and it will have a complete mystery smell to just about everyone you pass by. you will NOT smell like "everyone" with the "mass appeal" product you chose.

Sauvage just smells too much like Axe or some other cheap body spray for teenagers to me. I couldn't justify spending $90 on it at all. BDC is more unique, especially when it came out cause it was one of the first dark aquatics but now there's a lot of similar fragrances that are cheaper. Chanel and Dior have better offerings than those juggernauts.

It’s sad to see how down the drain the community has gotten. We have reviewers that are afraid to speak up and honestly review a fragrance out of fear of offending a sponsor or a house that sends them free merchandise. Every video is a built around an ad or them trying to sell their own brand. It’s a breath of fresh air to see how pure your videos still are. Your the last OG.

  • @vetiwearerdaimyo1592

I'm with you and here is why: Bleu de Chanel EDT smells too sharp and smells like mass produced shower gel, Dior Sauvage smells so chemically like some laundry detergent so much so that I swapped my bottle after 2 days. So both of those have that synthetic generic vibe like deodorant/shower gel etc. However Bleu de Chanel EDP is not bad at all, sharp vibe from EDT is at the minimum so it is synthetic but pleasant

  • @harveytrevino2257

I 100% agree with you. If I don't like the way it smells, why should I buy it? I'm going to hate the way I smell? What sense does that make.. Lol.. I actually don't like Acqua Di Gio Profumo, yet is in so many Top 10s.. I have my tastes, I wear my colognes because of how it makes me feel about myself, which enhances my self esteem. It completes my look of the day. Hence the reason the term Scent of the Day exists. Heck, in my he-bag, I generally carry 2 or 3 different colognes with me to satisfy my ADHD. Sometimes, I just feel like smelling a specific cologne for no reason what so ever.
Which is why I love this fragrance community. If I don't agree with one reviewer, I don't have to continue watching their channel. I find myself in agreement with your nose, so I always come back back to your chanel since at least 2010. You are true to your nose and not the trends.

And to me if u smell one ‘blue’ fragrance you smelt a lot of them. Bleu de Chanel and Sauvage and the blue frags are ok but I would personally pass on them for that reason alone. But they’re not bad. This is one of the greatest videos ever made, and something that resonates with all serious collectors once they get it. Chanel and Dior couldn't make a bad fragrance if they tried but these two fragrances have no personality or character, it's like dating a model or driving a 911. That's great for certain occasions and it could be the life for some people but it's going to end tragically for a nontrivial swathe of the population. They are great as anchors for comparison purposes as you progress through collecting fragrances but they can never become staples or signature scents. They are meant to be discarded by all serious collectors.

Totally agree with you 👌 there should be no hateful comments here it all comes down to your first point, wear what you want to wear no matter what someone says about it on RUclips or anywhere for that matter, if you like it then wear it.

I really enjoyed this one. My collection isn't even a fraction of your's. And I totally agree. Used to love Bleu. But it bores me now. I like to be intrigued, emboldened, inspired, and made to feel creative when I wear something. Nice video and riff on the topic.

I enjoy both of these fragrances for sure. However I can see exactly where you’re coming from. Especially when it comes to Sauvage, it’s so scratchy and synthetic compared to BDC. I’m happy to have them in my collection. They just don’t get worn as much as my niche fragrances or fragrances within the same category. Always like hearing your take and opinion.

Bleu de Chanel is something my brothers generation was into so it's something I always pass over. Sauvage is something that everyone from my generation wears (if they do wear fragrance) which is fine but when I smell Sauvage I just get that pepper smack in the face and I don't like it. I much prefer the way Versace Man smooths the pepper.

I can go for long periods of time without any compliments, even from the supposed compliment "monsters". People will compliment you if that is the type of person they are and they like you. If they don't like you or if they keep to themselves, chances are, it doesn't matter, you aren't going to get a compliment. IMO, if I am out and about, work, friends, whatever, I wear whatever the hell I want if I enjoy it. However, my woman has particular scents she loves, likes, and hates. Some of the ones she hates I love, which is natural, but I don't wear those around her because I don't want to be offputting. For example, she loves Encre Noire (which is surprising to me), but hates Encre Noire A L'Extreme. Like for her, the original is an 8.5, while L'Extreme is a 1. So you never know what people will enjoy. I believe when people go for the compliment "monsters", they are simply referring to a mass appealing scent that isn't so polarizing.

Better quality version of Sauvage and Bleu De Chanel in the designers, for wearing in the office for me would be Grey Vetitver by Tom Ford. EDP version. I used to have a bottle Bleu De Chanel EDT, i did think it was overrated. EDP is slightly better as its darker and sweeter. But overall for this genre of fragrance Grey Vetitver is my favourite for the office and its underrated in the fragcom.

Who said that 'well built' fragrances had to be naturalistic? Most really good fragrances are some combination of natural and synthetic elements. Do you think the great Dior Fahrenheit is natural... it is gasoline...?

I’ve been on a kick in which I wear fragrances that are marketed towards women.
J’Adore by Dior and every version of J’Adore smells amazing.
One amazing thing is how many different options in concentration
For instance, J’Adore is offered in an EDT, EDP, EDP Absolu, Essence de Parfum, and Extrait De Parfum.
Each strength is a different interpretation of the same scent.
It’s pretty cool to be able to smell the original perfume DNA, but yet also be able to notice the difference
On thing I absolutely love doing applying the J’Adore parfum extrait behind my ears, 2 sprays of J’Adore L’Or (Essence de Parfum) on my neck, 1 spray of J’Adore Absolu in the creases of my elbows, then lastly, I spray one spray of the original EDP on each wrist, behind each kneecap, and then 2 sprays down the inside of my shirt.
It sounds like a lot of perfume, which it is, BUT, it isn’t overwhelming, because the perfume is more spread out.
I sprayed it on just like that before I went to a party the other day.
I had 3 people/women tell me that I smelled “delicious” after they hugged me. No, not after I walked into the room, but after they hugged me which meant my fragrance was nice and close to me (mind you, I’m a 23 year old guy wearing perfume that’s marketed for women, and not one person said “you smell like a woman”)
Don’t worry about smelling like a man or a woman.
Worry about smelling simply amazing. That’s the only thing you should worry about when you pull the trigger to your fragrance.
If you’re worried about smelling like a man or woman, come out of the closet. Only closeted gays, who don’t want to be found out, worry about shit like that🖤

I couldn't agree more with you on Sauvage! It was probably my 3rd fragrance purchase of my 40+ fragrances and it's still 98% full and the only reason its missing 2% is bc I keep going back to spray it to see why ppl continue to praise it. Each and every time I go back and spray it, i say the exact same thing as you..."smells like shit to my nose."

For me Ive found that smelling a frag that I just sprayed on my wrist is different than the whiff you get when someone is wearing it. Sauvage for me is definitely better from distance. Most people that smell your scent don't go up to your wrist and sniff. They smell from a distance

    Fearless commentary. Objective commentary.
This needs to be shown to all young Frag/NoseHeads.
Strong reasons stated. Incredibly synthetic smelling. Incredibly. Smells as fake as the plastic on a new computer monitor.
Well I can say it "pedestrian odours for pedestrian people".
These cologne's reflect a bit about our species.
    Respectfully.

I have a different take. I like both of them so I’ll wear both of them. Most guys I know don’t even wear a fragrance so these won’t be overused in my area. Maybe it depends on where you live. I also like many of the Bleu type scents. I prefer sweet fragrances but for spring and summer, I like both of these. 🇺🇸

i kinda like the bleu de chanel. i dont love it, but it performs well, is kinda interesting but boring compared to most out there, but Sauvage is just gross. its cloying, synthetic and feels like a layer of plastic, soffocating your own natural smell, instead of blending with it.

To be honest, I used to be hesitant on Sauvage, but I goddamn love Bleu de Chanel. Seriously. It’s incredible. That being said it’s definitely not my favorite Chanel scent and it definitely isn’t their most unique. Sauvage is definitely a trend setter and a commentary on what’s popular, but I’ve learned to like it for what it is.

  • @andybiondi195

Pretty cool your honest take, educated and thoughtful. Strangely I simply disagree because my nose likes those two. In truth everyone's nose is different, we all actually smell differently. I wished I loved YSL-DH but I hate it and it was expensive. Of my modest 20, Dior-S is my unintentional favorite... A blind test confirmed this. I just like it and it has more girls comming up and hugging me and catching a smell. Others that do well on me are as far as ladies sneaking a hug are, Valentino, Spice bomb extreme, Aventus, Pure Havane, V-Eros and for my own nose I also like some cheapies: Clayborne Lucky, V-archer, Clayborne for men and and even goofy Drakkar. Its like beer just because its expensive doesn't mean I will like it. We simply like what we like. The most important take is your honest opinion and it shines through in this video.

This 'blue trend' is a blessing for me, this is exactly what I like about let's say, universal fragraces: aromatic, peppery with a hint of fruity freshness. I agree with personal tastes, but man, One Million and Le Male...
