Thanks for this video man I appreciate it I’m in my 3rd year in high school and I’m very serious on joining the coast guard!
Thank you! Leaving for Boot Camp in May after I graduate college. I am nervous, but that's okay. I will be watching more of your videos! Thank you for the advice again! I hope the Coast Guard treats you well!
Morgan Maguire I ship out May 22nd!!
SladeTitan021 woah! Me too!
Epic!! I guess I'll see you there lol!
SladeTitan021 right now that's the date, but it may be changed...there's a possibility I can go to A School from boot camp. If I can get into that school, my ship-off date will be moved.
Morgan Maguire ahh ok awesome!! Best of luck to you if that is the case
Your description is 100% accurate. Went in November 1963. A long dark bus ride from Philly airport. In Cape May that there wasn’t a bus to take us to base. We went to Ugly Mug bar for beer and a ham sandwich. This place is great. Well that didn’t last very long
Grandson is enlisting, I will pass this information along.
Thank you.
Lol the whole bus thing makes me laugh cuz I could just imagine
I love your vids! I’ve seen every single one haha. I want to join the navy or coast guard, corpsman (HM) for navy or health service technician (HS) for coast guard. I do need to lose like 50lbs tho before anything which sucks but I’m working on it! I do love the thought of having opportunities to participate in SAR and LE missions with the Coast Guard, I think it’s because I appreciate their mission more so than the other branches!
GodsImmortal thanks for the support brotha! You got this!! 👏👏👏👏
TheAndreLifestyle Thanks bro! That means a lot!
Do you remember when you were able to first write or call home? My husband left to boot camp 3 days ago, I know it won’t be as soon as I want it to be but just want to be prepared for it! Thank you in advance!
Ariana Cabañas it won't be for a while. Probably in week 2 or 3. Week 1 is just learning the rules and what will be expected of him during Coast Guard Bootcamp. It's an extremely stressful time and they don't let you have any contact with family or friends just yet.
TheAndreLifestyle thank you for the reply! I just got his first letter today. It was nice! Thanks for making videos about the coast guard. I love learning about my new lifestyle!
Hey Andre, Is it true that you should be loud and fast during basic? Is there ever a time where sounding off loudly could be detrimental to yourself or company?
yes, you must sound off during any interaction with a company commander. This is in the galley, squad bays, even classes. any interaction with a CC you must be loud. with being fast you are given time objectives ( 60 seconds to get in formation outside ) for example. Being fast and loud is critical for progression otherwise your company will be getting beat for not being loud or fast
Thanks for making these videos man! Very helpful! I’m hoping to drive up to the recruiting office near me and enlist in the next week or so🤙
Im shipping out tomorrow morning. Thanks for your info vids

What’s it like being prior army and going to coast guard bootcamp? We’re you able to keep it a secret? Did you get any special treatment? We’re you treated with higher standards?
Still great content man! Spot on with how it felt bro, when the bus pulls up and you start backing up and seeing the CCs I wanted to crap myself 😅
Keep the great work bro!
Btw if you need some photos of Cape May Training Center I have some? (Without me in them) I have one of Sexton Hall, etc.
SimbaLovesTacos hey brotha ! I really appreciate you always showing me support. I'm gonna start making a monthly vlog thanking the people that show me the most support in the comment section and you'll definitely be mentioned. Thanks for the love brotha 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Dang! So we probably saw each other somewhere! Crazy bro!
How’s the reception? How long was it? When I was at Benning reception was 11 fucking days... some other companies were there way longer...
Does the coast guard pay for your flight to Philadelphia if your living in a foreign country?
We are from NOVA! And now in Tx. How does it work coming from Tx?
Ship date April 10th. I'm nervous as hell.
Lance Ide it’s a piece of cake.
Mike Mac yea it was
how was it? i ship out in october!
@@brandonbrady7242 Honestly, I had a shit ton of fun, the sooner you adapt and get used to everything, the easier it gets.
Lance Ide how were you with the required knowledge? Did you go knowing a lot? If you did what did you study
Andre what age you have to be to do active duty
17 with a parents permission/ consent
Can you be "gay" or apart of the lgbtq and be in the coast guard?
Actually you can the military don't matter if your gay straight bisexual or a lesbian you can still join any military
Cody Farley, “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” was officially repealed on September 11, 2011 meaning the military (all branches) no longer discriminate against LBGT.
This was a great video! Mind if I give you a shout out in my next vid?
Hailey McSomething thank you! And yes of course you can shout me out! 🙃🙏🙏🙏🙏
