Bro... James telling the xan story literally had me crying by the 51 minute mark. I think we have all had some moments like that story with friends, so sad to think about... IM SO GLAD you guys can be SO open, honest, personal, and detailed. THIS IS WHY YOURE THE BEST IN THE GAME RN
I'm glad we got thee deep talks honestly because it just shows how authentic you guys are even if its super personal its really just I dont even have words to express how to say it. Just happy to see how much you're willing to share with your audience , thanks for the pod💪
James talking about his experience on handling Soosh, a very good friend who was under the influence often is very important and educational. The confrontation doesn't have to start where your loved one lost everything to addiction. Small warning signs are the best time before it gets too deep. Bless you both to be very intimate friends where you can confront each other.
I’m still in the middle of this podcast but I have to say Soosh is extremely open-minded for being able to reflect the way he does. Seriously, not a lot of people are able to look at their past actions this type of way. It’s extremely admirable
I crashed my car twice in one day on bars. For other people it makes them steal like crazy. All around bad news bears. Good you guys are solid and have the ability to call each other out on bs.
Doesn’t directly “make someone steal” it’ll cause someone to think they are invincible and then they’ll steal because of that. From what I’ve witnessed and heard.
Klonopin made me steal lol. Klons are way more gnarly imo they’ve got a 36 hr half-life whereas xans only 12 hrs. I once walked into a Walmart and grabbed a big screen tv and carried it straight out the front lol. Glad Soosh isn’t getting any deeper, it gets way more crazy if you don’t stop.
Bro thank you for coming clean about xanax. I’m a little over 4 years clean off benzos. The addiction creeps up out of no where and getting off benzos is complete hell. I tried cold turkey 3 different times and I wouldn’t wish that sickness on anyone, I finally went to a out patient program and haven’t taken them since. Also, James is such a good friend for calling it out and not just letting it go on for longer. Stay safe guys
@@zmurphy4657 it’s really not bad. They just treat it like counseling and you’ll have to go a few times a week for a hour or so. The biggest part is just staying strong during everyday life. You got this shit bro trust me if I can do it anyone can do it. Stay strong life is way fucking better sober 💪
I remember watching soosh content during that time and thinking “something is not right with him mentally rn” and then I would go check the comments and nobody was saying anything so I just shrugged it off. It all makes a lot more sense now, and I’m glad to hear you’re doing better bro.
Xans take your fucking soul away literally. I remember relying on them to ease my insomnia from taking preworkout so late at the end of 2020 and I met Soosh Dec 29, 2020 when his Focus ST broke down outside of Alphalete. 4 days prior to that I took 2.5 bars and some acid, which was my ultimate low. I remember feeling my chest locking up, being on my own and dazing off n idk probably potentially could of died in my own car. Meeting soosh that day motivated to be consistent in gym which made me ease off the xans and hearing his story it hit a bit too close knowing how addicting and dangerous benzos really are. I never really had a friend or anyone to sit me down and give me the talk like how Jam n Madrid did with Soosh, but meeting him kinda did the equivalent to that for me. Glad to see your doing better Soosh.
Brothers, I’m in my 30s and been through my share of ruined friendships from drugs. This one hit different, thanks for sharing glad you two made amends
yes ive been there myself and being in this position is really hard and weird because talking to someone who's on substances and having conversations with them is impossible to the point where not saying anything is better sometimes.
Most authentic people in the fitness industry made me feel like I was actually their friend and respect to Brandon and James opening up this much on social media. Crazy how Brandon was actually hearing about some things for the first time. This the reason they have a cult.
Major props to brandon for letting james go. It takes guts to own up to addiction and to let someone else go into detail to a major audience is even more impressive.
Thank you James and Brandon for being so open and transparent about things like these. Best podder on the planet. We all love you guys and I’m glad to hear you’re doing better❤️
I really appreciate this conversation, takes a lot from Brandon to be willing to talk about these things and take responsibility. It’s amazing to see the friendship you guys have, the support from your friends is a huge part of getting off this shit. I was addicted to Xanax for a long time, almost 5 years. I’ve had this exact conversation more times than I can remember. Brought me back to the times I had where I tore everything in my life apart. I’ve been thinking about going back, using again; to deal with some of the thoughts and feelings I’ve been having. This is the reminder to me that no matter how bad things are, they will always get worse when I use Xanax. I think you guys have a slight understanding of the impact of this pod, but I don’t think you’ll ever understand what it does for someone like me personally. Thank you Brandon and James.
Major props to Soosh for doing this. James youre a great friend, Soosh good on you for being able to introspect on yourself and your past to us, you are a true homie
Love to real talk you guys are having every episode. Glad to we got to see the deep talk as well. Just shows even more how transparent you guys are when it comes to this kind of stuff. Thank you guys!
Man, we really gotta understand how important what these guys are saying about benzos. The nature of them makes it so you lose the ability/ want to even question your use, you just slip into using them so easily. Months of being prescribed Ativan (similar to Xanax) and I’m still feeling the effects a year clean off of them. Thank you for the openness, y’all are changing lives letting people have this knowledge
honestly really glad you talked about this because it’s a big issues. Had a negative experience during quarantine and still think my short term memories not the same. Hopefully your story steers people away, xans are not to be abused.
Xanax rage gets to the point where you don’t even know what you’re saying or why you’re saying it. You have to be there in that benzo addiction/ bender position to fully understand how warped your mind can get on the pills being helpful. Props to Jam and Eric for being good friends❤️ Brandon, please keep your eyes open to how it impacted the people around you. That urge to pop another bar doesn’t really go away, hope you can stay away from benzos brother you have my support 💪🏻💪🏻 1 year and 7 days clean myself
