This guy couldn't be more wrong. He told a bunch of half truths and some blatant misinformation. He wasn't built for the job and sounds very financially irresponsible. They paid for you to come to Tulsa and spent all that money to train you and put you in a hotel that whole time. Why would they pay for a flight home for you after all that when you're quitting after a very short period of time? You don't live in reality, brother.
Flatbed OTR ain’t for the weak. Rookies come with an expectation that they are going to make so much money and when they don’t they complain, remember you’re getting NEW HIRE PAY
Great 👍🏾 video! I believe you helped me dodge a bullet. I’m in CDL School now Melton sent me an offer but just like you I have a wife and family and I need to see them so Melton would not work for me. How is JB Hunt?
im in cdl school now and a melton recruiter came to the school just last week and my buddy was all pumped and thats good but im the type person that analyses every thing and couple things he said hit me as well thats not a good selling point one was i forget what he called it was but basically if the shipper isnt ready they start paying you after 3 hours and thats one of the things i told my buddy he thought that was good i was like your on time and your waiting 3 hours b4 you get any kind of pay that crap isnt great yes some companies dont pay you at all but that still not a big bullet point for me
Clearly doesn’t have any idea how the company actually works. He kinda left out all the benefits & money they invest into new drivers, there’s a reason guys stay around for decades.
Dude from experience you are a trainee the first year of trucking always fkn sucks and yeah if you quite They tell you up front you have to find your own way home they brought you out there because you wanted to be out there but then chooses to leave that’s on you come on go to swift guys Like this belong at swift or CR England
Thanks for the comment, but it’s not my dream to be a Melton truck driver. As far as my dreams, I’m lucky enough to have a girlfriend that is willing to be by my side to push me to achieve my goals . If you would like subscribe to my RUclips channel and you can see me achieve those goals.
Some of the things he mentioned is true. An the way he explains them could be misleading. Melton isn’t family friendly (Most trucking companies ain’t). Your not getting all your miles because melton uses zip code to zip code, that is true(but they will pay more above the 10% variant). The regional drivers don’t make that much, that is also true.( depends on how you run and availability)
The zip code to zip code thing is typical of most trucking companies (not all). A lot of the stuff he said was misleading or simply not true. He didn’t know what he was talking about half the time, hence all the “blah blah blah’s.” If you want to make a solid case for yourself or your message, do your homework (million milers get ALOT more than just a color on their truck). Sounds to me like he had unrealistic expectations of the company, the job, and the industry as a whole, had a poor attitude, and expected to be coddled and catered to. Maybe I’m wrong, but there is a heck of a lot more videos on RUclips that are positive of Melton over the very few that are negative like this one
@@nickhed2010 Totally agree. For some reason social media has mislead people into trucking because of the “potential”money they could make in it. It’s pros and cons, just like any career (not job). You have to work your way into money. More time and experience you should be making more and creating relationships with people to network into better paying opportunities. Melton is a great starter company and even better if you want to make a career of it. If you keep a closed minded mindset. It’s going to be tough in this trucking world.
Your wrong . 10 yrs. U get 3 weeks paid vaca. $2,000 check . Custom truck with 5k worth of add ons.leather jacket . $4,000 diamond ring . So yur wrong bro
Melton is rated at number 10 out all flatbed companies in the US. You just not built for the road and that's ok.
😂😂 an who voted on that they paid for that spot
@@nationwide_ace2832And how would you know big mouth
I average about 1700 weekly with melton. Lowest check was 1300 highest was over 2200
Are you OTR or regional?
Yeah, are you otr?
??

1 year is not bad. You're getting experience. Its a sacrifice.

Dude u make shit your 1st yr. Out of cdl school wirh any company. U gotta pay your dues bro. Get 1 yr. Safe and u can make $
The running rabbit is a good place to work.

Welcome to truck driving my friend
You’re getting to 2K a week at in hunt starting out ?
What you recommend for someone like me that I'm barely starting trucking? What would be a good company to start with?
How long were you with Melton after you got your own truck?
You doing local with JB Hunt now?
I was with Melton for 4 months after I got my truck . And yes I’m doing local with JB hunt
OTR sucks long term. Mega carriers like Jbhunt, Nfi has alot of dedicated accounts. (Right dedicated account will change ur life on trucking)
Lmao. Imagine having a family. Nah lil bro, gotta get rid of them. Money over everything 💯
Mane you tripping lil bro

Money wasnt there for me either. Good company that requires a lot of sacrifices.
bro come to p&s logistics they're family oriented i left TMC for them
how much experience foes p&s require
.52 cents a mile is starting wage and it’s unsustainable. 70 hours a week less than 1000 on the check. Love flatbed but Melton I wouldn’t recommend.

Melton great for training then you leave
Stop complaining tell your girlfriend to stop pushing you out of your dreams man
