    The pano roof pattern in the glass you mentioned is not to mitigate the light coming in. It's part of the Executive Package which includes the SkyLounge LED moonroof. Those are etchings in the glass to diffuse or reflect the ambient lighting in the sides of the headliner so they appear as individual lights. Of course, it's only going to be relevant when the ambient lighting is on and it's dark outside.

    I rented one of these and it did get 22 mpg in mix driving. That is amazing for a 4,800 lbs suv. The x5 is fast as hell. I did 0 to 60 mph going up a light hill and it took 7 seconds. I also got 37 mpg driving 60 mph for 64 miles.

    The auto market is coming into balance. For most cars dealers won't be able to sell for above MSRP very soon.

    The X5 he is driving is not an “entry Level’ as he states in the video. This is an M-Sport package and has the Sport Transmission…as well as about 3 or 4 other packages to make it an $80k vehicle, not a $64k base model..lol

    • @TrevorATX
      @TrevorATX Год назад

      You’re pretty wrong about a lot of stuff you said. M sport package does nothing to transmission, only cosmetics. The entry level base model msrp is 61k not 64k.

    • @guitarbrian77
      @guitarbrian77 Год назад

      @@TrevorATX okay you got me, on the previous generation, F15 m sport had Sport +. I’m not sure if that is standard on the current generation, but this is standard on the new Msport: M Sport Package - Includes: 20" M Star-spoke bi-color wheels, style 740M with all-season run-flat tires (20x9.0, 275/45 R20); Adaptive M Suspension; M Sport Package; Without Lines designation outside; Roof rails in High-gloss Shadowline; Aluminum Tetragon trim; M steering wheel; Aerodynamic kit; Shadowline exterior trim
      And the base is 61,200 excluding any fees or transport added. So, a base model would be more like 62,700. :)

    • @MrTresto
      @MrTresto Год назад

      Base as opposed to the M50i or full M variants of the X5. It's of course loaded with options, but the transmission is the same regardless of the other options in the 40i. The powertrain is definitely entry-level, it's a B58 with the more luxury tuning and 335 hp (as opposed to 382hp like in the M340i, X3 M40i or Supra). The AWD version starts at 67K with no options anyway, not 64K, and properly loaded it's more like 80K which is what this vehicle really costs in its base version. The X5 is very good and also a very expensive luxury vehicle, I don't think anybody ever denied that one...

    I just sold my 2012 X5M. The best vehicle I’ve ever had, just brutal power. Drove like a sports car and had respectable off road skills. Only the air suspension failed $800 fix
    50,000 miles. Thank God that BMW didn’t mess with the grille. As much as I like the X5 the X6 is terrible looking it just removes head space for rear seat passenger. And the weird thing is other car manufacturers COPIED IT!!??

    I have a 2022 BMW X5. Love the look of the 22 inch rims and wheels but not practical and they wear out quicker and cost a lot to replace. BMW also said due to chip shortage mine came without fog lamps like the 2021 and some 2022s and no phone charging pad. Also the back seat is a little tight and those seats do not recline. Otherwise it's a great SUV for $80k.

    • @bingohhhhhhhhhhhh
      @bingohhhhhhhhhhhh Год назад +1

      You mean the tires wear out right? I have a 2022 also and in addition we did not get a touchscreen unless you happened to get lucky on that. What I don't like about my car, even with 21"s, the wheel well gapping is way too much. So I'm doing lowering springs that will take it down about 1.5". Might also get rid of the run-flats and do traditional tires like the Pirelli Scorpion Verde - they will last by far longer than the run-flats.

    • @davidstevenson2188
      @davidstevenson2188 Год назад

      @bingohhhhhhhhhhhh I got lucky and got the touch screen. I'm not sure if the tires wear out quickly because I've only put 6k miles on it in 18 months but with the 22 inch rims and tires I don't feel confident to drive on a slightly bumpy road for camping or skiing. I'll likely sell my 22s and put 20 or 21s and lower it as well.

    If I'm spending $80 grand on this thing that will be worth $30 grand if I'm lucky in 6 years the last thing I'm worrying about is fuel economy. Cars are becoming way too expensive with all this tech. No one ever talks about what happens because it probably will, when someone in 3 years smashes into your $80 thousand vehicle and the insurance totals it or even worse, doesn't!🤯 Unfortunately, there are a lot of obstacles in a daily drive nowadays.🤔🤫🙄

    • @MrTresto
      @MrTresto Год назад

      This is definitely a very expensive luxury vehicle, and while it's great, it's not worth getting into financial trouble for either, it's just a car in the end. I'd say one should never buy it unless they can *really* afford it (ie. have a family income of about 350K-400K/yr at least). And this is talked about a lot. If you don't have BMW money, don't buy a BMW, buy a Toyota or a Honda.

    I love how you’re like “I’m impressed with the ride quality” lmao bro you do realize you’re driving an 80,000 dollar suv with a v6. It’s not even the M and it’s 80k it better have good ride quality and for that price it shouldn’t impress anyone it should be expected. Now if you get in a 40k teluride that has the same engine just about same materials sort of and rides nice or ride well that should impress someone as that vehicle you can buy 2 for the price of this 1 bmw.

    • @MrTresto
      @MrTresto Год назад

      it's an inline 6 not a v6, which is quite superior and very smooth, and it's still an impressive ride quality, because it also has good handling qualities too, which a Telluride certainly doesn't have at all. It's the mix of good handling for its size and still having a good ride that's impressive. The BMW X5 is known for that and does it better than ANY other SUV in its size. That's what people buy a BMW for. And if you don't care about these characteristics well... That's ok you can just not be a BMW customers. But it's not the same, really not the same.
      BTW the Telluride does NOT have the same materials or the same engine at all, and the chassis is not comparable at all, it has very bad handling, the engine doesn't deliver power in any way comparable to the X5 (they underrate the power and torque of it, it's a B58, a masterpiece). The Telluride is impressive in that it still delivers good luxury for its price, but when it comes to the BMW signature, which is good handling and powertrains, it's not even close. Which can be worth it for some people (who will buy the BMW) and not at all for others (who will buy the Kia and that's fine too).
