Everyone struggling with the elite at the start just use the Acrophobia skull and fly to get him, it also makes almost all of the rest of the data pads easy to get for the whole game, I completed all pads in 1 sitting in just over 1 hour with this guide

Damn that elite at the beginning is a lot harder to kill than you make it look. You really gotta get lucky with stunning him or hit those inclines perfectly to have a chance. Took me ~30 attempts, and I considered myself good at this game until now lol
Hey just a tip for those trying this, I found through accident, I dont think the elite spawns until you get out of the falcon. So wait a like a second or 2 before getting out of the falcon, and you will get a check point you can actually use. I mean on the first pad, and I found it was better to use the rifle for sheilds and pistol for health. Dont try running after him when your shooting, especially with the pistol.
I know the video is a little old, but for the Winter Contingency Legendary Data Pad, the Acrophobia skull works a charm here. It also gets you the “Clear and Present Danger: Pad on the Run” achievement if you get there fast enough. Got it first try, even assassinated the elite for good measure.
Great guide as always. Btw for the second pad in long night of solace I found it really good to use the concussion rifle, made the jump a piece of cake

0:52 For 1# Data pad you can use the acrophobia skull on legendary with mcc's latest update and hold jump to instantly catch up with the invisible elite. He does not fight back, and you can still get the achievement with a 0.00x multiplier skull. The skull in general makes it easy to skip stuff and fly straight to the data pads.

Got the first data pad on my first go using your method. I've been attempting that for a while, but taking his shields down with the pistol and then chasing with the assault rifle worked great. Thanks.
Data pad 10 is now achievable through using the acrophobia skull and getting to the elite before he even starts running. Also unlocks Clear and Present Danger. Pretty much every pad can be gotten to quickly with acro now.

Question if I Completed Nightfall for the sub 3 speedrun but haven't done the other levels will it affect the time spent on the mission? I did it in 5:40 but due to mission select all progress will be reset?
How did you make the jetpack jump at 9:13? I've tried that a dozen times and I'm about 10ft less altitude than you at the end every time. Edit: never mind, I made it by flying directly up and landing farther up on the same pillar, then flying over to the walkway.
The first one I can see the Elite spawn while I'm way farther away. On your video you're so close to him when we spawns I don't get that at all. I see him spawn at the top the the hill still.
@@fakeraybanz6357 the achievement is called "canonical conundrum" suggesting there's issues with the canonicity. Also installation 00 made a video mentioning that they might be trying to retcon them
I didn't get any achivement by collecting the first data pad even tho i'm on legendary and i've tried it muliple times... That's the only one I missing, feels like it don't registrating.
5:00 is weird because it lets you get the data pad on raly point bravo, raly point charlie spawns you right near the pad location, but it doesnt spawn if you start it at charlie.
simply amazing how 343 does updates they put barriers in certain spots making it more difficult to get to these data pads because he cannot fly up there anymore on exodus and the first data pad shots don’t register when shooting the elite so I can’t get the first one

Were you playing on Legendary? Each level has 2 data pads, one shows up on any difficulty and the other needs to be on Legendary. The only exception is Lone Wolf that just has 1 data pad that shows up on Legendary.
This first one on Winter Contingency - Use your first sprint and DO NOT advance past the first retaining wall which looks like it has beams on the top. Just walk right up to it, look left and watch the Elite shortly after he spawns. I've not been able to get him, but I've popped his shields. Stopping before this retaining wall allows you to avoid restarting the mission.
You can't jet pack that high in exodus on the legendary datapad - on the segment where you deviate from the normal route by going up to the area where you take fire from a focus rifle at about 9:15. I cap out at max height just below it. I'm not sure if there was some update or you did something differently, but no matter how many times I tried I could not get up there and take that route on the other side. I went through the level like normal until I got to the landing where I jumped to the I-beams, then up to the datapad.

So ive opened the legendary datapad on exodus multiple times, killed myself and opened it again, and the achievement still hasn’t popped after 10 minutes... please help

I don't get the first invisible elite, I've done multiple runs on all difficulties, he doesn't seem to spawn. Played it on my mates account (heroic) and the elite was there. Like wtf lol. And yes I reinstalled, twice actually.

This elite sprints faster than all elites and even the Emus. I can't see how you caught this guy. A sniper riffle would be great.
AR is pretty efficient to kill him, i use magnum when he s too far and AR when i'm a little bit more close to him

Tom Lowe yeah, the lag on the achievements is painful in MCC. It took two days for my “all par times” achievement to actually pop 😂

That first one was the second most aggravating Halo achievement, right behind getting the IWHBYD skull in H2.
For the one on the Package I just boarded a Banshee. Much easier. You won't get killed by banshees as easily when you're in one
Just a quick tip on the running elite:
You can use the acrophibia skull to get him easily.
Didn’t Noble 6 canonically get them all? Meaning he sacrificed 2 marines and a falcon to get that one?

In Exodus you can surf the covenant drop ship to on to the vents in a much cooler way.

I think they figure that you're gonna go through the first campaign run through on easy or normal, then do it again on legendary

Sadly yes. 19 in total, but 10 of them are Legendary only. Kinda wish he told us which ones are Legendary.

Rally point bravo or Charlie for the legendary data pad 13 on tip of the spear
Strange, i could only get it to spawn from Rally Point Bravo. Tried quitting and reloading the game just to be sure and still had to go with Bravo!

I managed to do the pad on the run much easier with Acrophobia. You can get up to the elite before he even gets to the respawn zone
Once you get the pads can you quit right away and start up a new level.
