Okay just when you think you've seen it all, here we are turning the tungsten upside down and making spot welds..👍 love it, can't wait to give that a try. Thanks!
First time I have seen that trick. Amazing! Everyone else on RUclips switches to plug welding when their spot welder won’t fit (unless they have one of those old school industrial units with the separate electrodes.)
Tried this today. Works on test pieces. I think I could set the pulser as a timer for it. I don't do 1/4 panels anymore so maybe I will get to use it on something. I have tig'd plug welds when I don't want sparks, had no idea I could do this. 👍
I learned a while back to harness your Chicago Electric resistance spot welder to a cherry picker if you have a lot of challenging spot welds. Your arms will thank you. Also, get the 240 volt version. I am turning my Chicago Electric resistance spot welder into a spot dent puller to make it a multi-use tool. Thanks for the idea on the tig spot welder.
That is so ingenious, I would love to see you use it practically say in a door or trunk jam or something! I'll keep watching to see if you do! Thanks for the videos!
Thanks Robert! I have the #8 clear cup, it came with the Pro Kit. I'm going to order the rest of the clear cups soon. Are you using a #10 or #12 cup? Bill
I have the same lincoln tig welder, that is an awesome trick and can't wait to try it and get sweet spot welds like those! Some advise on welding aluminum, I've been having a hard time welding aluminum with my machine, it seems to blast the filler rod and doesn't like to make a steady puddle, its like the base and filler aluminum don't like to mix.
This might sound silly... but the machine is set to AC when welding aluminum? do you have a good ground and the clamp and connections tight? if aluminum is not extra clean you will have problems, correct gas flow? Check these and let me know. Thanks
What a great idea! I'm going to give this a try. I'm also going to see if I can groove the edge of a ceramic cup so that the argon will flow (dremel diamond wheel?). Robert, have you tried this with the zinc weld thru? I have a 240v spot welder similar to yours and have found that the results with copper weld thru were not as good as bare steel.
Finally tried this, this is dangerous, please don't apply this to your car and please take this video down. I tried it and it is good but for shits and giggles!! Not safe!!
I would love to, but the owner handled having the tank painted and installing the glass, I handled the Metalwork and welding.... I am working on another maybe a couple of months, stay tuned.

@HsPerformanceWi that's awesome brother, glad to pass the info along.
Great Idea and setup ... And you can do it one sided in places you cannot reach the inside (as mandatory for usual spotwelders). Thanks.
@Tom111060 yes Sir ! Another tool for the toolbox toolbox.
What! When did you get this 61 in for work?
My favorite year impala I need to see more of this hahaha.
I know right !

Thanks Robert! I have the #8 clear cup, it came with the Pro Kit. I'm going to order the rest of the clear cups soon. Are you using a #10 or #12 cup?

Invest in Furick cups they are the best, I think that was a 10, I'll look when I go to the shop tomorrow.

I always coat the " sandwiched " or backside with weld through primer, the thing is if the primer is too thick, it will implead the current. Thanks !!
Am I correct in thinking this requires high frequency start? Or is cranking up the amperage enough to get the arc to start?
Yes, lift arc would be impossible
Finally tried this, this is dangerous, please don't apply this to your car and please take this video down. I tried it and it is good but for shits and giggles!! Not safe!!
What are you stupid ??? maybe you shouldn't own a welder.....
Hiii @guzzifabrication3448 plz I request u to upload a video of transparent fuel tank
Part 3 its a humble request 🙏🏻
