I love using the flap wheel. Anything else really takes off too much metal and is too aggressive for thin metal

I’ve recently discovered your channel and it’s really been helpful. One of the things that I’m realising is I am at liberty to drill out plug welds, or take whatever radical means are necessary to make something fit etc. That all panels don’t come ready fitted. Some of them are horrible and rusty stuff can be a nightmare, but I’m _allowed_ to take whatever measures I need to make the things fit. The panels are not God lol. Some of the panel beating community has me thinking I need to be very qualified to do some of this stuff, when really a lot of it is purely simple decisions made one after the other.

@WesW3187 Well let me tell you something, arm yourself with a little of the ( correct ) knowledge and you can do anything anyone else can ! I make these videos for people like you. The 2 biggest mistakes I see people make is 1 not trying and 2 listening to too many ( experts ) online..... yes if you try you will make mistakes... that is how you learn. I really appreciate your support..if you have anyquestions leave them in the comments.

This work is done at an admirable standard. Some commenters use the word craftsman - and that’s dead on. Even when he’s working on a part that nobody will see after assembly, Robert seeks a level of quality that shows respect for the work and himself. Congrats to those who have Robert build their car. For me it’s valuable too as it models the level of work I can try for when working even on small fixes on my 68 Chrysler. Thanks for these videos Robert.

Carefully with a 36 grit flapwheel, Doing this , you really want to focus on making flat welds so there isn't a lot of grinding or sanding

Wonder if the customer understood they were probably going to spend most (all? more?) of a $1,000 bucks just fixing wheel wells (which no one is ever going to see). That was an outstanding repair, this must be an important car.

The replacement wheel house is incorrect, they do not make it convertible inner and outer wheelhouse..... the only option is to rebuild it
