Hey Ben! Hopefully we can meet up and do some digging next time my wife decides we’re going to the casino. Then we can do some side by side signal comparisons. HH Dewayne
I just got my nox 800 yesterday, when I can figure out how to get into my personal profile thing on it, I’ll set it just like this. I took a screenshot of how you set yours.. thanks.. I liked and subscribed a while back.
That is one nice big silver Brother . Can you run me through on how to set up the equinox to get best deep results for silver and gold . I have a Roman field and it looks a good programme your running in
Thanks brother! Not sure how well my settings will work on those lower conductive Roman coins, but you're more than welcome to try them. I uploaded a walk-through of my coin program settings in the following video at about the 2:50 mark: ruclips.net/video/LKANgsVQISA/видео.html&ab_channel=MetalDetectingNWGA Like I said, I have mine set up for US coins which are mostly high conductors, so you'd probably need to make some adjustments for the coins you'll be finding in those Roman fields.. The settings that will effect depth the most will be recovery speed, Disc, GB, and of course sensitivity. You'd want to match the recovery speed to the ground your hunting. Its a trade off, less recovery speed will give you more depth but going too low can cause you to miss some semi-masked targets if the area you're hunting is trashy. Iron Bias effects separation more than depth. Running a lower Iron Bias setting will yield the best separation, but it also makes the machine very sparky, meaning it might false more on some iron targets. Man, I'd love to do some detecting on your side of the pond some day! The age of the coins and relics you guys can find is amazing! Thanks for watching and HH! Dewayne
Thank you! I'm still learning the machine, but from what I've seen so far its as fast or maybe even faster than the Deus and waaaay faster than the CTX. The target ID isn't as solid as the CTX but much better than the Deus. It can actually give a proper ID on targets mixed with iron. On the Deus, those same targets tend to drag down the numbers and ID. I'm impressed with the Equinox for sure. Thanks for watching! HH Dewayne
Just trying to get some of the bigger gobs of dirt off before spraying to save time. Didn't want to spend 5 minutes spraying on a single coin and bore my viewers to death.
Hey Michael! Settings are saved unless you do a factory reset. I’d just jot down a few notes about your favorite settings and then you have no worries.
I was seriously considering one of these units, but after reading the settings for the coin program, it looks rather complicated. Having second thoughts.
Hey Richard, I think my settings may make it seem more complicated than it really is. Once you have the detector in front of you, it will make more sense. Its actually very easy to use. Take a look at this video to get an idea: ruclips.net/video/_ur0FfDDKUo/видео.html&ab_channel=DirtFishing
In park 2 are you still using 50 tones? And if so do you feel moving the tone break to 25 gives a advantage at cherry picking silvers in iron or trash?
Hey Kevin. I switched to 5 tones and set the fifth tone break at 23. I’ve noticed that dimes can read lower than 25 depending on depth and ground. 23 is high enough to avoid zincolns and still get copper cents/dimes. HH Dewayne
The reason I ask is I have been using a 5 tone program in park 2. I had the last tone break set at 22 so that 23 or higher would sound off at a tone pitch setting of 25 with volume turned all the way up. I had all other tone volumes for all other tone breaks set at 0. It worked great at finding wheats and silver but, I noticed when I switched over to 50 tones that in super trashy and iron spots I could pick the dimes and quarters out better and not dig pennies with a recovery speed of 5 to 7. Still experimenting with settings. Thanks
That's similar to the way I have mine set up. I have low tone for 12-13 for nickels, a mid tone for 19-21 for IHPs, and 23+ set up with the highest tone for silver. The volume on everything else is set to 0. I like 50 tones for cleaner ground but in the iron its just sound overload to my ears. GL & HH Dewayne
I forgot to add that my 5 tone program is just a cherry pick silver program. That's why I have all other tone breaks volume turned down to 0. If I was hunting for nickels, IH's, gold, buttons and etc. I would have the other tone breaks set up differently and tone volume up. I use a CTX and I like a open screen so I'm used to all the noise. I will keep playing with the Equinox. Thanks for you help.
Hey Shawn! I do have a few friends in GA who also have channels. Wilddigger, Roller Jones and Tarheel Diggin' just to name a few. There are more but can't think of them off the top of my head. Search those names and check out their channels. Good stuff! HH Dewayne
Metal Detecting NWGA yeah so far penny’s and twist tops. Nothing super old. But I just started hunting this park and it’s about five acres of land. So I am looking for some old spots. I have pulled One Indian and one silver Rosie dime
Metal Detecting NWGA I haven’t found much. But I will be keeping this setting .. I am in a highly trashy park.. it is good at discriminating the trash .. but have not found anything really old. This park dates back to the early 1800 and is 15 acres or more. So there’s really no telling
Hey Kevin, Just put the cursor on the ID number you want to reject, then press the accept/reject button(✓/X). Check out this video at about 4:14 to see it. ruclips.net/video/LKANgsVQISA/видео.html&ab_channel=MetalDetectingNWGA
have to crank up the volume to hear your voice then I wake up the whole house when the detector screams ...mic placement issue ? Great vid though, and nice finds !
Hello What do you think about the equinox 800 paired to the CTX 3030 I am thinking about selling my CTX 3030 it is killing my back Most my metal detectors kill me but i am going to sell my ctx to get The equinox 800
Hey Rich, The Equinox is much lighter and easier to swing for long periods of time than the CTX. No doubt about it. The Equinox's target ID is better than most single frequency VLF detectors, but IMHO not quite as accurate and stable as the CTX 3030 or Etrac. So FBS machines do still have some advantages in some areas.. Where the Equinox really shines is hunting in spots that are loaded with iron junk. This machine is extremely fast and unlike most other detectors, still gives a proper tone and ID even on targets that are surrounded by iron. On other machines, when a high conductor target is surrounded by low conductors it tends to drag down the tone and ID. Not so with the Nox. If I was concerned about weight and could only keep one detector, it would be the Equinox hands down. HH Dewayne
I've never done any beach hunting but I've seen a lot of good reviews from beach hunters on the Nox 800. I think it would work great for you. HH Dewayne
You can order one right now, though it may take a couple of weeks to arrive.. They're available in limited quantity. According to Minelab they should have all the pre-orderes filled by the end of March. After that they should be available in most detecting shops.
Hey Tom, both coins were probably less than 6”, but both were semi masked by junk so that’s why I didn’t find them before with my other detectors. No worries, the Equinox is deep! In my test garden it easily hits deep coins (7”-10” range). It’s hitting everything my Deus and CTX can hit no problem.
Ragnar holmer in the original firmware version it had some trouble hitting large silver coins standing on edge. That has been fixed in the latest update.
Metal Detecting NWGA I do use you recovery speed 7 and Iron Bias 7 which helped me land a 1841 half dime from a POUNDED Fort sight which I got from this exact video. It was good for the old iron square nail and modern trash site 🙏🏻
Thanks for the settings guidance. Will have to test that out when mine arrives.
Hey you're welcome Andy. Good luck with your new machine! HH Dewayne
Very good finds congrats on the silvers. The new Nox is doing great.
Forrest Stinnett thanks buddy! HH Dewayne
Oh man Dewayne real Nice 1800's Barber Quad .. sweet bro ... and sweet again with a Dime of the Barber type lol really nice congrats
Thanks Jim! I like the Barbies but prefer to take a seat. I haven’t found anything seated in a while now. HH Dewayne
Love watching these vids buddy makes me so excited can't wait to get my nox 800!
Red Beard Relic Hunter I appreciate you watching bud! Hope you get your Nox soon! HH Dewayne
I'll give you program a whirl tomorrow, great finds, Just watching the end now. 2 more Silver! Nice!
Thanks Tyee! Let me know how it goes. I think you’ll find that raising the iron bias will completely solve the nail issue. GL & HH
That machine is impressive! I’m dying to see a side by side comparison with the at Pro
Hey Ben! Hopefully we can meet up and do some digging next time my wife decides we’re going to the casino. Then we can do some side by side signal comparisons. HH Dewayne
If anyone wants to know i spoke to minelab and the 600 runs on the same freqs as the 800 in multi mode.
I just got my nox 800 yesterday, when I can figure out how to get into my personal profile thing on it, I’ll set it just like this. I took a screenshot of how you set yours.. thanks.. I liked and subscribed a while back.
Thanks for watching man! Good luck with your new Nox 800! HH Dewayne
Sweet hunt. The cashe location still producing goodies.
Thanks Matt! Yeah the Nox is unmasking a few that I missed for sure! HH Dewayne
Great finds for sure. 👍😁 what are you spraying? Water?
Vans World thanks buddy! Yep it’s just water.. or as the Hoover boys call it, foo-foo juice. :)
nice man! the nox is moving it's way up the list for my second machine! best of luck to you and yours cheers Nathan
Thanks Nathan! The Nox is a beast! :) HH Dewayne
Where are you at in NWGA? I'm up here too.
Hey Donny. I’m in Cave Spring. How about you?
Metal Detecting NWGA i an in the Dalton/Chatsworth area. 30 miles from Chattanooga.
Donny Lawson that’s not too far from me. Maybe we can meet up and do some digging some day.

Thanks Sebastian! Good luck with yours. HH Dewayne
That is why I SHOULD have got one...lol. Hi brother CacheFinder!
Hey cache mole never too late to pick one up man! :) HH Dewayne
I have a Minelab Safari and an AT Pro. It is definitely too late now...lol.
Metal Detecting NWGA Thanks
Why spray it after you rub the thing?
Just trying to get some of the bigger gobs of dirt off before spraying to save time. Didn't want to spend 5 minutes spraying on a single coin and bore my viewers to death.
Nice coin finds, I havent found a barber,,, yet, lol
GL & Have fun.
Rick
Thanks Rick! Your Barber day is coming bud. Just a matter of time til your coil crosses over one. HH Dewayne
Question: So, if I save setting I like on the Nox 800 (right button), will it stay? Or when I do FP start, it will be gone again..? Thanx, Michael.

Just found your channel from a Quarter Hoarder comment. I’m from Ga. also do you know of anymore channels from Georgia?
Hey Shawn! I do have a few friends in GA who also have channels. Wilddigger, Roller Jones and Tarheel Diggin' just to name a few. There are more but can't think of them off the top of my head. Search those names and check out their channels. Good stuff! HH Dewayne
Metal Detecting NWGA I sure will check them out thanks for the information and keep digging.
It's been too long since I found a Barber quarter. Nice finds!
Thanks buddy! I love Barbers too, but sure would like to find a seated coin again. Haven't found one in over 2 years. HH Dewayne
I found a lot of them. But only via a google search on my computer. UGH WHERE ARE THE BARBERS?!!!
Nice finds brother...Ron
Thanks Ron! HH Dewayne
What is your park 2 set up ?
Hey Blue Grass. My park 2 coin setup is posted here: metaldetectingforum.com/showthread.php?t=259041 (about midway through the first post).
Metal Detecting NWGA.. just set it up.. fixing to give it a try now thanks bud
Metal Detecting NWGA yeah so far penny’s and twist tops. Nothing super old. But I just started hunting this park and it’s about five acres of land. So I am looking for some old spots. I have pulled One Indian and one silver Rosie dime

have to crank up the volume to hear your voice then I wake up the whole house when the detector screams ...mic placement issue ? Great vid though, and nice finds !
Hehe.. Sorry about that. I have a GoPro Hero 6 head mounted now so it should help equalize the volume a bit. Thanks for watching! HH Dewayne
Seen some other videos of Nox why do numbers jump to much?
Its jumpy because the place I'm hunting is loaded with junk. The Nox is trying to process multiple signals at once. In cleaner ground its very stable.

I've never done any beach hunting but I've seen a lot of good reviews from beach hunters on the Nox 800. I think it would work great for you. HH Dewayne

I heard the maschine had a weaknees for silver is that true?
Ragnar holmer in the original firmware version it had some trouble hitting large silver coins standing on edge. That has been fixed in the latest update.
@@MetalDetectingNWGA so its just as good for silver now as the others?
Absolutely. Silver coin hunters are doing very well with the Equinox. It’s a great all around machine.
@@MetalDetectingNWGA Alright thanks for quick anwers :D
good job!......subbed!
Thank you sir! Subbed you as well. HH Dewayne
Nice!!
The Barber Quarter is my white whale I have the dime and Half but that DAMN QUARTER!!!!!
MrTruth1253 keep at it my friend, it’s coming! GL &HH
Metal Detecting NWGA I do use you recovery speed 7 and Iron Bias 7 which helped me land a 1841 half dime from a POUNDED Fort sight which I got from this exact video. It was good for the old iron square nail and modern trash site 🙏🏻
He just flips a fucking Barber quarter and isn’t even phased
I’ve actually found quite a few of them at that site. :)
I’ve never even found one :(
Pointless expense just to dig modern junk in the USA.
Sorry, we can't all live where there's 1000 year old coins. Besides, I'll take silver and gold regardless of age. HH Dewayne
I am not having a pop. I get it. I would love to try gold. We have none ! Find a biggy cousin.
