If you really need a how to guide on everything and for someone to even explain what's going on with the modes and frequencies like park1 and park2 and field, Beach and if 800 Gold I can do that for you. Also did you know that the 600 has the exact same frequencies available as the 800 besides 20 and 40 selectable as single frequencies? So leave a reply and if so I will do a small series for you on the Equinox

If you check out some of our recent videos you will see some stunning hammered coins and other numerous 16th century finds, its on fire when you get the hang. But always remember you have to walk over it to find it. Grid your area, try do some digging on history of the area. Simply turn on the machine first, then the head set, then if it doesnt pair automatically, press and hold down the top right button to allow the machine to search for headset. Hope this helps

    I am heading to what was once a ghost town. The gentleman that owns the property(gold claim) is allowing our club to hunt there tomorrow. I have had the NOX 800 for over 2 months but am embarrassed to say I keep deferring back to my CTX. I realize I may not get any answers before tomorrow so perhaps you could point me in another direction. I am interested in settings for what I expect to be an iron infested area(nails) and I do realize all soil is different so....... I have fiddled with advanced settings and would love to get more acquainted with this machine as I am no longer a Spring chicken. Just a 61 year ol gal who has been swinging a close to 6 pound detector for 6 years now but fortunately I cruise for hours on end. Sorry for the rambling but that is what we older folks do 😏. Thank you for any info you can provide, Peggy

    • @RelicHuntersWales
      @RelicHuntersWales  6 лет назад

      Hi Peggy. With heavy Iron fields you may have to compromise a little depth or put up with a little chatter. This is what I would set it at ,Field 2, reduce recovery speed to 6-7 to gain some depth, if you dont get lots of false signal reduce again. Iron Bias to 1, sensitivity to between 16 and 20, if you can get away with higher without the chatter then great if not 16-20 is spot on. If you have an iffy signal your not sure about, press the horse shoe and swing again and see if Iron brakes through. If so move on to next target. Remember to hit the horseshoe again before carrying on. Ground balance a few times through out the day especially from field to field and set to auto ground balance and Multi frequency. Any hordes found its 50/50 hahaha. Happy hunting and I hope the adivse helps.

      Thank you SO much for the great advice and QUICK response. You guys are awesome. We moved to Boise Idaho a year ago from San Diego. I rarely did the beaches because of my love for history. I don’t know bout 50/50 but what I will say is there are more cool relics, tokens and old coins then in all the years in SD. We have been working street tears outs in an historic district and oh my! Gold coins are found here in Boise proper without having to go to the ghost towns or stage coach stops 😎. If you are ever in the hood 😎. Thanks again. You guys ROCK!

      Hi Clive I see your a local guy. We are Blackwood. Yes the Equinox 800 will perform just as well if not better in my opinion. Manages to keep up with Chris's CTX!. They are VERY LIGHT but the standard shaft is rubbish. After minor use it will wobble. However Detecnicks offer a great fully adjustable, carbon, quick release shaft. It is £125 However, as a subscriber you get 10% your Equinox from detecnicks so the upgrade then becomes technically free. If you do go for the NOX from them when you call mention the 10% Relic Hunters Wales discount. Hope this helps mate

    What a little lesson, your a natural teacher mate. I'm on the market for a new detector I was looking at a xp deus. A lot of money. And I thought I could get a new nox800 for the price of a second hand deus. But I've just heard so much bad reports on the 800 and it kind of put me off. But you sound convincing, I also wanted a deus as I could pack it away and take it in a back pack as the permissions I have involved large areas to walk. When I have the funds I'll have to pop to regtons and have a walk around and have a chat.

    • @RelicHuntersWales
      @RelicHuntersWales  5 лет назад

      Thanks for watching, and glad the advice was helpful. I personally would go for the Nox 800, yes I maybe a little bias but the machine is fantastic. Whats a winner for me is the Multi frequency, without having to change anything. I have recently been using the Anfibio, and here in Wales all it does is dig coal, the NOX just ignores that so for me its a double winner. Remember your preference is the best to go by. With the Nox, I found using a quick release, carbon shaft folds it down perfectly and quickly for transport, yes its an extra £100 or there abouts BUT should you buy from Detecnicks as a subscriber to us you get 10% off so the saving on the machine pays for the shaft. Hope that helps a little.

    Loads of controversy with videos on U Tube at the moment regarding " coins on edge " and the fall off of the signal compared to coins laying flat. I believe Minelab have been approached about this and are looking into the alleged problem. Have noticed myself, during testing, the numbersfall off when a flat coin is placed vertical. Disregarding the fall off in the numbers, the signal comes across loud and clear---and good enough to dig. Maybe you can do your own test and give your views. Mossy---ex Deus now 800 owner.
