Lot better with seating use all the room for day time use. You only sleep in a bed don't want to be looking at the bed all day. Glad for you that you like the new van lay out I do😊😊😊😊
I think you have made the best decision on having the added space used for seating. Lots more room and its a two minute job to make and put away yr bed. Excellent choice craig spot on.........❤
Nice one Craig. Once you get used to the new bed, you'll be able to set it up in half the time its taking you now easy. I'm not a fan of the sideways sleeping permanent bed. Most have to sleep diagonally on them and when you open the rear doors when its wet, your bedding gets wet as well either from the rain or drips. PITA:)
I'm looking at layouts too, and this one got me thinking. I think I'd rather have a lounge space than a fixed bed. As long as you've got a sofa you can always lie down for an hour, if you don't want to make the full bed.
@bigtoe333333 The reason why I finally opted for a fixed bed is because I'm a chippie and it has to double as my work, so I needed plenty of tool storage. If it was for that, I definitely wouldn't have a fixed bed unless my van was even longer. It's an l3 transit, btw.

I can’t answer for Craig, but if you have a good quality diesel heater and have it installed properly, you can use it whilst driving. It has to be properly installed though, with exhaust and intake facing rear of the vehicle
