  • Bryan Hayes, Jeff O’Neill and Jamie McLennan are joined by former NHL goaltender and Maple Leafs legend Curtis Joseph to discuss whether or not Auston Matthews plays in Game 7, why Joseph would play Matthews and use him on the power play, Joseph Woll’s performance so far in the series, the headspace ahead of a Game 7 in Boston for a rookie goalie, the incident between him and referee Mick McGeough during the 2002 playoffs, his game watching routine at home during an important game, the resemblance between the Leafs-Bruins series and the 1999 series against the Flyers and more. The boys also give life advice for the fans in the latest edition of Dear Hayesy-B and get ready for the weekend and a big Game 7 between the Maple Leafs and Bruins.

    CUJO... one of my favorite all time tenders! I like what CUJO has to say about Matthews just suit him up for the PP. The Woll is going to be a difference maker again in game seven! Joseph Woll won the Leafs the hockey game with the big glove save. At that point the game was 1-0 Leafs.

    Playing Matthews would be a devastating mistake. Win game seven with the ponies that got you to this point and win. Then get a healthy matthews and McCann to do battle with the panthers. DONT mess with the chemistry the team is feeling. Let’s go boys!

    • @DropBear_42
      @DropBear_42 Месяц назад

      Depends how healthy he is because it’s been such a physical series (most hits of any series so far, by far).
      I would consider putting him on the 3rd or 4th line since he’s so good defensively, snd even if he just gets 1 second to shoot in the o zone, he can score. And then of course on the pp.
      The only hesitation id have is every line has been so good snd you don’t want to break up the mojo. But at the same time, it’s Fkn Auston matthews lol, I think he’d elevate any line regardless of chemistry.

    so to me if Matthews is at 70 percent 3 or 4th line minutes but anything less than that and u don't play him. Also its weird we've been dominating without him no?

    • @TheGamerChronicles999
      @TheGamerChronicles999 Месяц назад +1

      Not that weird team has desided they wanna play and have more energy I think a big part of that is woll, regular season same thing they put woll in and you coulf feel more pep in yheir step until he got hurt, I honestly think when Sammy is shaky the team just feels its pointless, After game 2 that was all matthews cant really blame him I dont think woll is the key here

    • @TheGamerChronicles999
      @TheGamerChronicles999 Месяц назад

      But forsure agree dont play him unless he's 100

    • @disinformationworld9378
      @disinformationworld9378 Месяц назад

      Not weird. Entire team knew they had to step up. They scored 2 goals each game with him out. Offensively they aren’t doing much. Woll was the real difference. I wanted Samsonov out after game 1/3. He almost cost them game 2 as well.

      Tucker had WELL over a hundred points in his junior seasons and was a solid offensive contributor in the NHL, who was a major headache for teams come playoff time... so "plays like Tucker" should be a compliment for most players.

    I hope for the Leafs sake Auston Matthews doesnot play and mess up the chemistry they have the last two games. They are winning wihout him,and they are playing better without him. Sixty-nine regular season goals don't matter in 2-1 playoff games where Matthews does not score anyway...Matthews can NOT play in the top-six..power play only would be the best option for Matthews so he does not hurt the team 5-on-5 ,and hurt the chemistry and momentum they have going.
