agreed that overdrive doesnt make it sound like a bass more like a shitty speaker crackling from a crate bass amp. if you need an overdrive to make your sound cut through your gear is shit.
@@MetalizedButt I hadn't listened to rust in peace for a little while. Wasn't sure what part of the tone reminded me of it. I can now confirm It's the spanky crunchy goodness.
For everyone thinking "this riff sounds oddly familiar but I can't recall where it comes from" I had to twist my mind a bit to finally understand that this is not a RATM riff (well, let's not argue about that) but Let's get the party started by Tom Morello and Bring Me The Horizon.
this reminds me a lot of the bass tone in here come the rome plows, but that entire song is so loud that it basically becomes a regular precision tone anyways lol.
This is kind of what my bass tone sounds like, but slightly more like the bass in ghost by seven sounds like. I'm thinking about running it through an octaver pedal too to add some more fullness to it so it can stand alone better
It seems more like you want a sonic maximizer/expander/exciter to get a little geekier with your highs and filter the low back in in a very particular way.
@@WilDBeestMF nah, I'm more into the sound of the octaver pedal so it sounds more like a chord, since my playing style involves a lot of chugging the low B and E string while slapping and popping octaves to add sort of a variation when the guitarist is repeating the same note. When he plays a solo or something I want to be able to stomp on an octaver pedal to make my bass tone sound sort of like a chord so I don't need a rhythm guitarist.

@@toot1231 well of course it's not to be mean, I want this guy to do great things but when the guitar kicks in of it's a big modern guitar sound he won't be able to hear himself
@Bill Ding the constructor well it depends on the density of your band and how you want it to sound because frequency is relative, but imo most people that do home recording over eq the shit out of alot of mixes in a detremental way without thinking why they are doing it and just follow tutorials they see on the internet. all the elements need to sound as good in solo as they do when you mix, everyone gets that shit wrong because they've been told it doesn't matter what it is like soloed as long as it sits in the mix, that's stupid and it's the reason why nobody cares about modern metal . It is the idea that every mix is going to sound mostly the same because that's what is fed to everyone via influencers that demo gear or by mixing lessons when they say this is what it sounds like in a mix, it's not as helpful as it sounds like it would be because they aren't playing with your band so you have to guess what it would sound like with your rig. The point I guess I'm saying is people will learn with using their ears how to fit into their mix scenario how they want to sound like they did back in the day when you could jam to a whole album and not get bored 2 songs in.
interessantissimo, posso chiedere un parere? per ottenere un suono cosí, quali parametri/effetti devo usare? si sente anche una bella frittura, immagino corde molto basse o sbaglio?
Studio engineers be like: Thats a very cool tone you got there. Time to completley cut it out of the mix and only use it for low end!
Sad true story 😂😂😂😂😪
yep, thats how it works
Lars Ulrich approves this comment
You are hitting too close to home
Meatillica: More Sad Than True

I don't understand how a bass can have such a strong yet gutless tone at the same time

scooped mids, and i think it sounds great

New strings, scooped mids, blened overdrive with clean
THIS is the tone I’m looking for as a drummer and drum & bass enthusiast. Gotta love that tone that sounds like Dr. Pepper bubbles
check out OM, a drum and bass duo. the bass feels like dr. pepper bubbles rather than sounds
@@TheEyesThrone this guy knows what's up! OM is the real deal.
Yes, OM. Also check out Swamp Ritual.
Your tone gives me rust in peace vibes. I haven't checked why but I love it:)
It's spanky

You have just achieved what I will never achieve: fresh bass strings. Btw. great tone!
Ahahahahah I was thinking the same.
The answer is obvious. Your bass sounds amazing!
Aw jeez, that thing is beautiful sonically and aesthetically!

That tone screams of royalty free rock tracks for your RUclips channel intro
i'm old school. cranked tube ampeg and a bass big muff. simple as.
Sounds like Alex Webster's bass. I like it.
Reminds of Entwistle’s tone in his later days. A good amount of drive and high end spank
Love this song
mann it sounds amazing
WOWW IS INCREIBLEE
love your tone
That's a pretty great tone
Beautiful
Real good
banging song
This tone is beast
I love it🤘🏼
My favourite ever bass sound was Newsted on the black album. I love alembic and esp bass with active pick ups. Direct injection
Listen to Moving Pictures and Signals and come back to me
A Spector on enter sandman too if I'm not wrong!
I like how you look around at the end as if you lost your plectrum.
far beyond driven vibes
Very nice
this song is so good
That right there is the tone that I prefer. It's just right.
Like a tin can with no low end coming out of a fender 5 watt ?
Very nice.
Suddenly a wild Lars Ulrich appears!
Hell yes 💪
Yo, Epic!
”Cool, works on for the low end”
15 second videos, eargasm sound, ez sub
Get the party started ooohhh
Shes a beauty!
Love your playing! You remind me a lot of Luis Mariutti (Shaman, Angra).
the classic bass preset on my 11r plus a chorus. thats my tone lol
Those headphones are great.
Well Jesus tap dancing Christ that was pleasant to my ear holes.

I have rain playing in the other tab and I can still hear that there's white noise on every note (which is why it's good)

The clean sound is perfect.. but the distortion is worthless on this one, it's just a white noise at the background.
Damn, that's such a sick tone!
Have you tried Spector basses?
It's kinda stereotypical modern bass, has no balls and needs more 150-500 hz midrange especially for a live context
