I'm at the point where I am trying to go with the flow. I'm getting my scheduled homework done and in the lag time I'm journaling and crafting. Have a blessed week
I'm in the Uk, my hubbie is a postie so is a key worker and still working - I work for the construction industry which at the moment is allowed to continue so for now I'm still working too. I'm okay with the social distancing (apart from not seeing family too often) as I understand how essential it is. What has annoyed me is the selfishness of people when it comes to grocery shopping. We now have bread, milk available still no loo rolls but now its the pet food and cat litter which I can't get. We've got 2 rescue cats which cannot go outside so litter is essential but because we are still working there is nothing left by the time we get to the stores. I really feel for those front line staff in the NHS who are risking their health for greedy people to leave them nothing when they need it. I just hope in the next few weeks we see more acts of kindness than of greed. Sending love from the UK. Keep the videos coming they help me keep my sanity. Be kind, be clean, be well xxxx
Thank you for posting this. I've gotten lost in all the anxiety of this two weeks. Planning has been my coping mechanism for that but everything has just been overwhelming. Stay safe and sane!
Thank you for making this video. My husband has been deemed essential and it's scary. I was planning on this year being the year I finally write something I feel comfortable publishing. Now I'm just hoping to stay healthy. I wish that no one had to put themselves out there and we could just all hunker down until it passes. Thank you so much for all that you do for the writing community, as well as your fans!
So thankful for these tips. I sucked at Q1 because I started a full time job and then my dad became really sick. I rearranged goals and projects but I wasn't very productive. Since things are worse this time around, I really needed this video. I like the idea of two plans. I also like the gratitude journal and decluttering tips. Thanks Sarra!
Just hearing your wisdom helps me center myself. That's how you serve me and this community. Thank you. I am not a person who follows others on RUclips or podcasts or anything like that. But you, Sarra, have something very special. It's helping me so much. Stay safe and healthy.
Thank you so much for posting this video, Sarra. It's such a comfort to hear your familiar voice! Really appreciate all the realistic positivity and optimism of your videos. We all need to take care of ourselves to take care of our broader community, and I think people don't prioritize this often enough. Hope you and your family stay safe and healthy!
I am ALL on board for the group video sprints! But only as long as they don't stress you out and overburden you. {{HUGS}} Vicki Petterson (UF authors) has started doing this once a week in a Zoom room (starting at noon eastern time, varying days) and they've been great. She says they've really helped her anxiety level, too.
That's great!! Zoom limits me to 100 though. Hmm. I'm not saying we'd get more but I hate to not include everyone. I need to think about it. I do love that you can see everyone in zoom...
So helpful, thank you! I am trying to plan my second quarter and I thought, "Hang on a minute, I bet Sarra has some wise words about this." I was right! Thank you for sharing planning videos every quarter, but it's especially helpful this time when so much is up in the air. What would help me is more practical videos about how to do this work at home-building routines, how to handle things going awry, business practices I ought to have in place, etc. I have children and a husband around all the time now too, and while I love them they've thrown off everything I've set in to place before this! lol
You're so sweet Sarra! Always value here at Heart Breathings. Going to make my contingency plan this week and I'm sewing face masks as my community service. Love ya!!
oh, I didn't know I NEEDED your video until I got it. I see that you are more stressed out than normal here but still providing us with advice for a better life. Honestly, you are a huge inspiration for me. I set up my first kanban board for March and was planing to go with seasons for quarters but now I think the situation is a big enough reason to scrap it and adapt it. In a way a chance to start over with a knowledge of what did and didn't work too. Best wishes to you, keep your inner peace!
Sarra, thank you for this awesome video! I love how you focused on service and how we can be positive and constructive in this time, even if that just means preserving our own health & safety. Me, I'm working on sewing fabric face masks for a nearby community health clinic that has almost no supplies...so, as much as I can without overwhelming myself, I'm sewing and sanitizing masks for them. It has helped me so much & lets me feel useful and helpful even in this strange time!! Sending you & the whole HB community so much love.
This couldn't have come at a better time. Thank you for this video. I struggle with anxiety, too, and the past couple of days have been especially rough on me where my job is concerned. I've been shocked at the amount of stress it has caused me--normally I love my job and don't feel this much anxiety toward it. However, I can't help but be frustrated by the things my boss's bosses are throwing at him and us last minute. I don't do well with these types of changes and the uncertainty they're causing. Your tips are definitely going to help me find my focus! I took notes on this video, and I plan to put these tips to use immediately. Thanks again! Stay safe and well! 💖
You don't know how much I needed this! It seems like every time I hit a really rough spot in my writing journey, you have a video that puts it all into perspective for me and gives me the advice I need. I can't thank you enough for that. As for this whole situation, it's one helluva plot twist, isn't it? Lol
Thankyou xxx You said many things I needed to hear and I appreciate your tips and words of kindness. I feel like I could hear a little of your anxiety in your breathing and want you to know how much I appreciate you making this video right now. I'm in the category of usually working from home but I have kept my son home for five weeks and been unable to do all my usual self-care. The government here in Japan is currently sending all kids back to school next week. I have so much anxiety but I can at least have a little time to work through your tips until (presumably, surely?!) schools are closed again. Your suggestion to play computer games was so freeing as I feel I have set too high 'home school' standards and as a result spent 5 weeks doing nothing but beat myself up about too much screen time. Ok will stop going on about myself. Really only meant to comment a big thankyou hahaha xxx
Have you thought about scheduling live writing sprints here on RUclips? That is one of my favorite things for authors to do because it really helps me focus on my writing for that 1 to 2 hours that they are live.
Hi Sarra. For us, we are just now figuring out that our production partners are stuck with their schedules and won't be able to accelerate cycles just for us. Right now we are about to release book 7 in our current series and the final book 8 is scheduled to be released in June. With our bonus writing time just in the last 10 days and with social and family obligations put on hold we will be ready as early as the first of May but our Cover Artist said no way. It's going to be mid June before she'll have it done, so.......... we'll just keep writing and be able to explore rapid releases. We understand everyone's life and circumstances are different but we're going with the glass half full philosophy. Wishing everyone the best! Cheers
Thank you for this. I was just sitting down to try to figure out planning when your email landed in my box. I love the contingency plan idea for dealing with uncertainty. I might have to do this regularly, since my life is not always as predictable as I would like.
Thanks. You are a sweetie. I love the dark bureau in the background. I have a large dark bureau with larger drawers. How do you organize your stuff in it?
I love the sprint idea. Just joined the group. Looking forward to writing with you. Happy to be of assistance in the group if you need. I sprint daily ;-p
Thanks for video! Hope everyone is coping well! My country is going on lockdown. We're only allowed out once for exercise and also for food and medicine. It seems unreal.
It feels like a movie that doesn't have the right story arc to get to the ending! Like we were all shoved through the "first door" and are rapidly advancing on the "point of no return"! But we aren't making the choices! Stay well and safe.
Thank you for this video. I keep getting emails about "what we are going to do" from now on for school. And it's so complicated and I cannot see how parents will manage it all - they have to work, too. They can't really "home school" for 5 hours a day. And, even though I'm not in a teacher role right now, it's triggering massive anxiety attacks just reading it. As the therapist, I'm trying to send out self care strategies, but it's hard when every email from the school just sets me off. People do need to make self care a priority. I just downloaded a magical cleaning guide from Blessings Manifesting on Etsy. I think it will help motivate me to deal with my home in a positive way. And I'll be finishing the HB90 bootcamp with a different mindset - since the whole world changed in a week! Thank you for all you do! You are definitely one of the lights!
I'm trying not to panic about the homeschooling. I'm really lucky to have my husband home, too, but it's just a lot. I keep thinking about single moms working from home with multiple kids needing attention? How are they going to do it? It makes me feel helpless.
Heart Breathings I completely agree. I think whatever the school sends out needs to be simple, doable, and flexible. We have to get over trying to dictate how parents manage this at home. We can send out materials, try to be available to help. And then it’s out of our hands. Apparently our diocese or state - idk - is trying to say it has to be 5 hours a day and people have to take attendance. Really? Are we going to flunk kids w slow internet? Or parents who need the devices or bandwidth for work? Seems crazy to me. We have to get over trying to get kids to exactly where they would have been. Next year will just have to be a reset with curriculum. Life moves on. Lol... I love how other people’s coping strategies - micromanaging and trying to get hyper control - just completely set off my anxiety. My “let it go - relax be flexible” state of mind probably sets them off, too... but I don’t send it to their emails. I hope you find some calm in your day. Teaching a 7 year old, having an infant, nurturing a marriage and being the sole source of income is tough. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to care for us! It shows your huge heart! Take care. I have no idea if there is a way for me to give back and help you, but if there is, let me know.
I've been enjoying your videos..I would like to see on or another one on marketing tools and giveaway you do and you good place I could make bookmarks or any marketing tools
I found your channel a few weeks ago, and I love it!! One thing you mention occasionally is a money goal. I definitely want to make money with my writing, but I very early in my career. How long do I give myself to make money? At what point do I set money goals? From the beginning? Thanks so much!!
I’m so thrown off. I’m working more outside of the house. Kids are home. I’m super stressed. Writing wise I’m focusing on my writing group. Critiquing for them and getting feedback. That’s it. That’s all I can handle at the moment.
My current novel is set in 2020 (police thriller). I may have to rework it so it's set in 2019. I'm in England. We are officially in lockdown as of midnight tonight. I am super scared. My mum has said that Convid is "a super pneumonia that makes you drown". 😖
Sometimes we are going to have to make adjustments, but this is why I added in the tip of not making huge changes or decisions out of fear or panic. Changing up your long term vision and plan for your life over a couple months of panic can set you so far off course it could take years to recover. If you write super fast, you could try writing to market, but there's no guarantee writing to trend is going to bring in any money, either. It's just my opinion, but I think choosing something drastic or something you otherwise wouldn't have chosen out of panic right now is a dangerous choice. What does your gut say? Not your fear!
@@HeartBreathings Sarra, somehow I knew you were going to ask me that, and my gut says finish book 4. I'm already 40k into the book, I'm about to release book 3 next month, and book 1 is finally going audio next month. My producer has finished, and is doing touch ups. My Gut? It tells me to keep writing book 4, and market what I have. Thank you. I needed to hear you say this. I agree, sometimes we don't think rationally when panicked. My husband (the bread winner) suddenly can't work ( he's a grocery worker) because he's beginning to not feel well, and doctor told him he can no longer go to work and stay home. [which I agree, his health is way more important, and that of others] This news came today: so my psyche kicked in. "It's up to me now. How can I pick up the slack?" So, yeah my mind is in overdrive as to what I can do.
@@emmyscreativecorner1575 I understand. It's really hard, especially when our earning capacity is threatened. I think following your gut is the right thing to do. Keep building upon what you have.
I doubt very much things will ever get back to what we thought of as 'normal'...we're entering a new normal now, and things will be chaotic for awhile, until they manage to flatten the curve and find a vaccine. Until then, we have to be patient and adaptable (and that's hard for someone who loves her routine, like me). Hang tight, stay loose, and breathe.
Sarra, do you have a closed group for writing, like Coven? I don't think Coven is for writing, so I'm wondering if there is a closed writing group with your HB90 or anything. :) The world of the internet has changed a lot, and sometimes I just want to ask another writer a specific question about how something sounds without broadcasting to the world. :) Thanks!
Reading your stories on facebook is fantastic, but wouldn't you serve that community AND make a few pennies if you did it on RUclips? You could always donate the earnings to your favorite charity.... Come to think about it why not do both, Facebook and RUclips and extend your audience. Later, you could privatize the videos if you didn't want to give away your stories anymore. ❤🌅🌵
Yes! I am going to do it on RUclips! It will make it easier to embed on my website that way. I just did the original announcement on Facebook because my core fanbase is used to me posting there more often. Thank you.
I'm thinking of you all. Please stay safe and let me know if there's any content I can create for you that would be helpful right now! Sending love!

:) Thanks!
I finally decided that the rest of March would be a total loss and I'd give myself permission not to even think about writing until Camp NaNoWriMo.
Would love a cleaning video, very much in trend.
☺💙
Reading your stories on facebook is fantastic, but wouldn't you serve that community AND make a few pennies if you did it on RUclips? You could always donate the earnings to your favorite charity.... Come to think about it why not do both, Facebook and RUclips and extend your audience. Later, you could privatize the videos if you didn't want to give away your stories anymore. ❤🌅🌵
Yes! I am going to do it on RUclips! It will make it easier to embed on my website that way. I just did the original announcement on Facebook because my core fanbase is used to me posting there more often. Thank you.
@@HeartBreathings, cool! As I don't do Facebook! LoL! 💜🌞🌵
Thanks a lot Chinese government 😒😑😒😡
