Think it’s the best looking adventure bike out there. Wished the cc’s were little larger though.

If BMW had given it more power, a larger tank and better suspension, it would’ve been a potential unicorn but then it would’ve eaten into the sales of the 750/800/850s

I think you’re right, I wish I knew about these in the summer, I would have bought one for sure. Now it’s winter and I have to wait till spring🙁
It will be my first motorcycle, it seems perfect for beginners. I’m drooling over how stylish it is, compared to other enduro beginner bikes that I thought looked ugly.

Mine is perfect for the Arizona desert, although I try to stay off the freeways ... any bigger and it would be too heavy for off roading in the desert ... mine is the same coloring as this one ... I love it!!!

I disagree re: the looks. I think BMW nailed it and designed a handsome vehicle. I especially love the different color options available.

    • @FreeMilesMC

The Looks definetly fit bmw Design Language. So they definitely put effort in to it. It’s kind of a subjective thing but cool color options are always great☺️

I also think BMW nailed the aesthetics on the G310GS. It looks like a much larger bike and definitely doesn't look like it was built to a budget even though it was.
The best color is black. 😀

I had. Himalayan for almost a year but was disappointed with the lack of power and the engine rattle. I’m considering the BMW 310 and KTM 390. At age 71, I’m looking for a lighter bike for commuting and weekend rides.

1:00 - I gotta be honest and say that the G310GS *IS* the most appealing look. 🙂 My 91 year old mom tells me all the time what a pretty bike it is. 😀 Admittedly, aesthetics are subjective.
I love the baby GS. Based on the number I'm seeing and the fact that BMW doesn't seem to be promoting it at all, I conclude that the G310GS is a big seller for BMW Motorrad. I wish they'd introduce an upscale G310GS Adventure with a 5 gallon fuel tank, aluminum bash plate, engine protection bars, rebound and preload adjustable suspension front and rear, larger and more aggressive off road foot pegs, tubeless spoke wheels, and maybe some common add-ons such as a dual high current USB charging port, windshield, folding mirrors, hand protecting brush guards, heated grips, larger foot on the kickstand, etc. Of all of my wish list, the larger fuel tank was the only thing I was unable to find in the after market, although I kept the original alloy wheels which are fine for the old man riding that I do.

Live in ibiza so i have a lot of dirt rocky roads, and also will used to go to work. Its a perfect balance and a bmw trusted bike its what im looking for. I dont want that much power, 100/120km per hour its enough for me. It really helps me decide. Thanks for the review. Looking forward to get my A2 and get better at riding with a proper bike.

Regarding the dashboard taking a while to start up, it only does that when the bike is due for service. Once the service warning has been deactivated after service, the dashboard starts up instantaneously.

Its light weight and punches above its weight fitting some rally road parts will solve a lot of issues full exhaust system bash plate spoke rims and off road tires or dual purpose tires the system can have better springs depending on what you want.

Not sure anyone has said this but the dash taking very long to turn on is temporary. Mine started booting fast after the 2nd check up. No idea why but maybe it's to protect some parts while they're still breaking in.

I’m looking for a relaxed riding and inexpensive motorcycle but I have a few concerns about this bike. Any insight from experienced riders who own this would be appreciated.
First I’m worried about the hight I’m 5’8. And second I ride a buell xb 12 Lightning and an sfv650 regularly so is this bike still engaging to ride? My bikes are wonderful but they’re both aggressive and sometimes I just want to enjoy the scenery. I tried a ninja 300 but it just didn’t fit what I wanted. Also I have zero interest in off-roading but I do take the occasional dirt road.

Hey mate, I bought the 310 GS as my first bike and I love it. Of course I can't compare to other bikes but this one is great for beginners IMO. I liked the offroad tracks that you did BTW, could you please suggest how to find some offroad tracks in Germany? I moved here recently, I can't find any offroad tracks to ride the bike, every one I find has the "forbidden for cars and motorbikes" sign and offroad is one of the reasons I got this bike, I wanted to go on and offroad. Oh and one more thing, what mic are you using in this video, sounds very good. Is it connected to the GoPro wirelessly or to some other device and you record your audio separately? Thanks.

    • @FreeMilesMC
      @FreeMilesMC  Год назад +2

When it comes to off-road in Germany I have to disappoint you. Off-roading is basicly illegal everywhere in Germany. And on top of that most people walking around are making often a huge fuss when they see people doing it.
I use a microphone from a comunication system form Louis but they don’t produce it anymore. So I am currently looking for a good way to record audio again.
      I record separately ☺️

The exhaust flowing out the back of the engine is well away from the rider. That's one of the design features that I appreciate about the G310GS. The exhaust is also well protected so it's not damaged when riding off road.

1- its too heavy for beginners specially if you are going off road (where i live) .
2- throttle is electrically operated and does not response as smoothly as a cable operated motorcycle, its like
telling your horse go and he is still thinking about it.
3- neutral gear is impossible to go into when the engine is off it goes from 1st to 2nd instead of first to neutral
and then from 2nd it goes directly to first so i have to always use the clutch for starting the bike not good.
4- for a beginner off road you need a seat height a bit lower than gs310 i am 5'10" and a bike like half as heavy,
on a black top road you can drive a monster without holding the handle bars.
5- i do not recommend this bike to anyone, specially a beginner
6-i have seen many videos about the gear shifting problems
but when the person talking about the problem is a business they always were hesitant to be straight forward.what a shame.

I considered full crash bars on my G310GS to protect the fairings but decided instead on Givi engine protection bars to keep weight to a minimum. If (when) I scratch the plastics, I'll take them off, fill and sand them and give them a matte black Krylon Fusion rattle can paint job. I've dropped my baby GS a couple of times, stationary in the garage and low speed in the woods, and it still looks new.
