That slight hesitation at 3:53 gets me every time!
This is the ONLY drum cover that is almost 100% accurate to the original. You've got a couple little snare flutters added in but otherwise it's identical, most others come nowhere near! Most people forget to double the hi-hat time during the chorus, they forget all about it. Or they play the hi-hat and neglect the cymbals. You nailed that part perfectly!
in the intro + outro there is only 2 snare hits at the end of every phrase whereas in the cover its being played as 3

I just realized how hard Grohl was channeling Bonham on this, it's almost as if he's about to fall off the edge, but just makes it in time.

just fucking impeccable! so much of the song shaped from the drums, this is why 90% of rock songs don't exist on the level of Nirvana, QOTSA or Foo, Dave is just a genius drummer and your covers are a testament to how extraordinary it is to find such expressive and creatively ingenius players with the technical focus to nail it so on point. DON"T EVER STOP PLAYING!

I saw John Theodore jam out to this track in detroit at the Fox and quite honestly I keep coming back to this cover because it's as close to the real deal as I'll probably ever get again until I see Queens play again. Love every second of it.

Thanks man , i made a few small mistakes in it (you can see me shouting and cursing ha) but think it turned out ok. Don't think i would of had the energy to play it again as i was playing a few hours at this stage.
Colm Dowling Haha! I'd wondered that from the sweat before you'd even started playing. There's 2 other drummers, one called Gerardo Saca who covered a live version of the song and a guy called Xevifoo who do the other best covers in my opinion. I've got a bit of a hard on for Xevifoo's cover tbh, it's quite embarrassing/cringeworthy on my part but it's a phenomenal cover.
Bit of trivia for song for the dead you might appreciate btw. Dave Grohl used the drum track for the song Slip It In by Black Flag for the main riff of song for the dead. Maybe call it a homage or something I guess!
The one I always come back to to see how it's done. Always smashing it out the fucking park mate, this deserves millions of views, this track is an absolute beast to play through and I have since never seen anyone nail it as good as this. Bloody incredible!!
