  • In this Physics video in Hindi we explained radioactive decay and its types for class 12. Radioactive decay is of three types, viz., alpha decay, beta decay and gamma decay.
    Radioactive nuclei emit several particles alongwith energy to gain stability. When a radioactive nucleus emits alpha particle, the decay is called alpha decay.
    Similarly when beta particle which is electron or positron is emitted, it is called beta decay. And when an excited nucleus emits gamma ray to reach its ground state, the process is called gamma decay.
    Beta decay is of two types beta pus and beta minus decay.

    Sir I am Yash....Hum toh ek aise student hai jo sirf knowledge ko explore karna chahta hai....
    Sir Jabse aapke channel par lectures sunna shuru kiye tab se mera curiosity aur badh gaya....
    Lekin sir kai baar aisi situations aa jate hai ki hum knowledge explore karne ke wajaye sirf learn karna padhta hai....
    Sir I am not a Genius...I am not Intelligent...but I am simply curious.....
    Lekin ye education system hamare Curiosity ko hi khatam kar deta hai.....
    Sir...I believe that one day education system will change and students will be able to explore knowledge.....

    1:58 exactly sir!! Exams are meant to see how capable you are for the field. But nowadays coaching centres ne isse paise Kama rahe hai . They are not at all interested in celebrating the new and brightest thoughts in a child's mind , unhe to sirf paisa kamana hota hai ......

    Sir how can presence of one more proton make the nucleus more stable as in beta minus decay... ? What I intend to ask is adding one more proton would just add to repulsive interactions within the nucleus.. this should make the nucleus less stable?? Thank you

    Sir , you given example of urnaium changes in thorium but if we fount delta mass then it is zero because thorium mass is 234 and helium mass is 4 so its equal to uranium so delta mc2 work and how it emits energy.
