    Radioactivity is very fascinating topic which led to further many other discoveries.
    James Chadwick tried to control radioactive rays by bombard it to metal surface, which led to the discovery of neutron.
    Rutherford tried to control radioactive rays by bombard it to thin gold foil which led to the discovery of nucleus.
    So it is interesting not only by the mathematical results that we get but it is also true that it is also interesting because of the fact that it is related to many other fields.

    I have one question please clear my doubt, my question is when a helium nucleus is eliminated from the nucleus of Uranium 238 it becomes Thorium 234 but we know that uranium has 92 electrons also so after alpha decay what happens to the two excess electrons in shell of uranium atom.

      92 is no. of protons. Alpha particle emits means 2 proton & 2 neutrons emitted. 90 protons are left and that thourium.

      Either get ionize if there were certain conditions and environment and enough energy at that time also a possibility can arise is that if it is not happening in a vacuum and happening in the open environment that mostly happens idk more about that 😂 but yeah when it will form thorium then it would get participated in chemical reactions leading to forming stable compounds or something else well it's 4 years since you had completed your 12 Idk you get satisfied or not but the curiosity should not have an end ❤

      Okay, good question... at first consider that do all of nuclei posses same energy or not??..then you will find it's not...then to stabilize itself it emits energy...now....alpha, beta and gamma radiation take place to reduce it's energy... And just see it's equation...it is related to N0 which is initial number of atoms when you have started to notice it...and the lambda called decay constant is not similar for every atom...and if it would be same...then every atom will show same radioactivity...even the inert gases also will show it...now...do you understand????....

    • @VivekKumar-vp3wl
      @VivekKumar-vp3wl 5 лет назад

      @@ritwikchakraborty3319 you are saying that all atoms of an element in ground state are not identical.

    • @ritwikchakraborty3319
      @ritwikchakraborty3319 5 лет назад

      @@VivekKumar-vp3wl okay..I have told this for different atoms...in the case of an element all the atoms are identical...so now you should imagine that you have a uranium belong toEngland and another one belong to India...then what would be the radio activity of those uranium molecules???....that will be the same either bring out from England or bring out of India...that nothing matters, because it's a fundamental property of atom and every atom of U molecule is same but if you considered Thorium and uranium then it would be different and that atoms are not similar...

      @@ritwikchakraborty3319 bhai, wahi to question tha. Uranium ke sab atoms identical hain to sare atoms ki properties bhi same hogi. To, sare U- atoms ko ek sath ( simultaneous) decay hona chahiye n? Lekin, aisa nhi hota hai, sare atoms dhire dhire decay hote hai,kyu? Ye tha mera question?

    Hello Arijit Sir
    Good Evening....
    I want to ask a question
    • Does particles(specially Nucleons) have finite size OR they can be compressed below to a point?
    • And....can the Nucleons be expressed as a matter wave with a wave function?
    Sir Hum Quantum Mechanics ke baare me excited rahte hain isliye ye sab sawaal dimaag me aata rahta hai.....
    Yours Faithfully

      Hello Yash bhai,
      Very difficult to answer.

    • @smile_7449
      @smile_7449 5 лет назад

      I do not know the exact answer but I'll try to explain....
      1. I think nucleons are rigid and can not be compressed because to compress a nucleon you must bring some particles (of something that is compressing) near to the nucleon and then nuclear forces will be introduced and then it will push away the thing which is compressing....
      2. May be, because of quarks but can't say anything about it.
      If I am wrong plz let me know....
      I will delete this comment.

      In the core of neutron stars the nucleons are converted into strange particle by compressing it with immensive gravitational force and it is the most stable elementary particle which can exist on its own!
