You heard one of the best lyric songs from Kraken it's like an inner struggling from a person who is in a moment of life where he can't find a way to run out to that feeling of being lost, trying to understand why life happens and the way it is and what happens while he releases the past... Even for native Spanish speakers it's hard to get into the deep meaning of the song as it is very philosophical as almost all Kraken's songs. It's lead singer Elkin was a truly deep person, really quiet and mature. I invite you to hear other songs as this is a ballad but they have other good metal songs as "muere libre" (die free) or "camino a la montaña negra" (the path to the black mountain) a terrific song. They're still the best representation from Colombian metal. Thanks for taking the time to read my opinion. 😅

Yo soy más amante del metal extremo de colombia más que el heavy pero bueno kraken estaban muy bien sus canciones menos las baladas que eso es más para las chicas pero fue una banda de heavy 80s y 90 muy buena q es la mejor época que salieron bandas y de todo en general la mejor época de mi vida.

Sadly the vocalist and founding member Elkin Ramirez passed away in 2017, he's remembered as one the most influential rock singers in Colombia. The band is still going now but with a female singer. A little context about Kraken and specially their singer/founder. He died from brain cancer and by the time this was recorded he had already been diagnosed with it but only band members and family knew about it. They recorded one last album before he died and he put in a lot of work towards it because he felt his days were counted. Probably their fastest recorded album aver because of that reason.
Right? This is such an important point. There was nothing similar before and I haven't heard anything similar ever since. At least here coming from Colombia. Perhaps on rap songs with similar messages but off course without the... Let's say poetry? Kraken was just so unique and amazing.

Unfortunately Elkin Ramírez the lead singer passed away. A brain tumor finished his life. He also engaged in painting. He was hommaged at the Lido Theater in Medellín Colombia. Other hommages followed. His music still goes on with Kraken s reinvention.
It's really great that you decided to listen to this band, especially to see Elkin back on stage, even though at this concert he couldn't hit the high notes anymore and get all that flow out of his voice that he once had. For that concert, Elkin already knew about his illness, he was undergoing treatment and that is why you don't see the same intensity that he gave to each of his concerts.
I'm from Colombia, that's one of the most famous metal bands in here. For me, the song is more about being exposed, like when you are really open with your feelings out and even the lightest brease can move you. Thank you for the reaction. It is indeed a ballad. For something more "metal", I recommend "muere libre".

Elkin ( lead singer) was diagnosed with a brain tumor, this was one of his last performances he passed away months later, this is why this was such an emotional moment and you can see people in the crowd crying.

Me parece de muy buen gusto hablar y analizar la musica de una gran banda colombiana , mas especificamente , de la ciudad de Medellin , como es la banda de rock KRAKEN , y es su vocalista Elkin Ramirez , el icono mas importante de este grupo , ya que fue un gran vocalista y compositor de excelente calidad , considerado como de los mejores en su genero dentro de los músicos de Suramérica y America latina en general . sus comienzos fueron en Kripsy , banda fundada por el en Medellin y luego paso a una banda un corto tiempo llamada Ferrotrak, para finalizar en su obra de arte llamada KRAKEN . I was at that concert that day. It was when they went back to Medellín, after many years, even though they started there. It was the commemoration of 30 years of their career as a band, and that song is a fan favorite, that made people really emotional. Elkin was an excellent singer and performer, and he is by far the most important heavy metal singer Colombia has ever had. I'm really glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful video mate! Kraken has a special place in the heart of all of us who grew up listening metal in Colombia. You should check out Kraken I and Kraken II (my favorite albums).
I can't help but get teary eyed at the sight of Elkin, I saw him at least a dozen times in the 90's, Kraken is part of the soundtrack of my life and his absence is still painful. The band is still ongoing with a female singer, who is quite good I must admit, I saw them open for Def Leppard in February, classy show, but it's not Elkin. Frágil Al Viento is a song that personally hits harder the more I age, where does everything go?, does it just fade away?, have I wasted my time?, it's a love song, a very painful one, but raises questions about life. It evokes pretty much the same feelings as, say, Time by Pink Floyd. Kraken is a very eclectic band, I hate that word but I think it's the best way to describe them, they flirted with heavy and thrash, but hard rock too, they have quite a few balads, they have an album that is somewhat acoustic. They're definitely worth checking out.
Unfortunately, ELKIN RAMIREZ'S presence and wisdom is not with us anymore. This concert was one of his lastest performances but his voice and poetry will be with us forever. Thanks a lot for highlighting this great Colombian band!!

In my book, they're hands down the best band in the country, with Poligamia coming in second and Ekhymosis snagging the third spot (other options are 1280 almas or aterciopelados). Well, this is a surprise! Hello from Colombia. I have been watching your reactions for some time, never imagined you would react to a band from my country. In case you want to react to them again, they have a symphonic concert. I'd recommend Sin miedo al dolor or Mexica.
The song along with "Lenguaje de mi piel" is of course, the slowest of all the band's production, and its theme speaks of how fleeting and as such, absurd our lives can be, we are "fragile in the wind".

Kraken was (and is) the most iconic band in the colombian metal scene... everey rocker and metal head in Colombia have heard this band (no kidding). Their radio "mainstream hit" back in the 80´s was "Vestido de Cristal" = Crystal Dress, but their whole music is much heavier, darker and their lyrics so deep, even rooting into the soul of Latin American indigenous people. And the singer was so elegant, so well-mannered and cherished by their fanbase, which began before the internet, whit handwritten letters...

I'm from Colombia, that's one of the most famous metal bands in here. For me, the song is more about being exposed, like when you are really open with your feelings out and even the lightest brease can move you. Thank you for the reaction. It is indeed a ballad. For something more "metal", I recommend "muere libre".

Elkin ( lead singer) was diagnosed with a brain tumor, this was one of his last performances he passed away months later, this is why this was such an emotional moment and you can see people in the crowd crying.

Me parece de muy buen gusto hablar y analizar la musica de una gran banda colombiana , mas especificamente , de la ciudad de Medellin , como es la banda de rock KRAKEN , y es su vocalista Elkin Ramirez , el icono mas importante de este grupo , ya que fue un gran vocalista y compositor de excelente calidad , considerado como de los mejores en su genero dentro de los músicos de Suramérica y America latina en general . sus comienzos fueron en Kripsy , banda fundada por el en Medellin y luego paso a una banda un corto tiempo llamada Ferrotrak, para finalizar en su obra de arte llamada KRAKEN . Excelente homenaje y gracias a Thomas Pearson por su objetivo y especial análisis de la banda super excelente como lo es Kraken , Elkin Ramirez paz en su tumba , nos dejo un legado musical muy importante y de apreciada calidad . This was the goodbye tour of Elkin the vocalist,he died sometime after of throat cancer..
I was at that concert that day. It was when they went back to Medellín, after many years, even though they started there. It was the commemoration of 30 years of their career as a band, and that song is a fan favorite, that made people really emotional. Elkin was an excellent singer and performer, and he is by far the most important heavy metal singer Colombia has ever had.

Beautiful video mate! Kraken has a special place in the heart of all of us who grew up listening metal in Colombia. You should check out Kraken I and Kraken II (my favorite albums).
I can't help but get teary eyed at the sight of Elkin, I saw him at least a dozen times in the 90's, Kraken is part of the soundtrack of my life and his absence is still painful. The band is still ongoing with a female singer, who is quite good I must admit, I saw them open for Def Leppard in February, classy show, but it's not Elkin.
Frágil Al Viento is a song that personally hits harder the more I age, where does everything go?, does it just fade away?, have I wasted my time?, it's a love song, a very painful one, but raises questions about life. It evokes pretty much the same feelings as, say, Time by Pink Floyd.
Kraken is a very eclectic band, I hate that word but I think it's the best way to describe them, they flirted with heavy and thrash, but hard rock too, they have quite a few balads, they have an album that is somewhat acoustic.
They're definitely worth checking out.

Kraken was (and is) the most iconic band in the colombian metal scene... everey rocker and metal head in Colombia have heard this band (no kidding). Their radio "mainstream hit" back in the 80´s was "Vestido de Cristal" = Crystal Dress, but their whole music is much heavier, darker and their lyrics so deep, even rooting into the soul of Latin American indigenous people. And the singer was so elegant, so well-mannered and cherished by their fanbase, which began before the internet, whit handwritten letters...
